The Hippo Factory offers a unique dive into the art world. It’s a cool and inviting environment that allows creatives on any level to explore the inner artist in them. There is something for everyone. You can learn to draw or paint using various mediums. Or, take advantage of 1 and 2 day workshops with world renowned artist. There’s nude model drawing in Monday nights, where you can come listen to music, bring your medium and let your creative juices flow. The Hippo Factory have Sip & Paint sessions using the Fluid Art method. This place do not disappoint. The art instructors are amazing, approachable and eager to teach. If you don’t believe me... Brian is a great teacher, he explained the mechanics of drawing clearly. There were several students working at different abilities, he was able to assess each students need and apply appropriate direction.I not a beginner and am looking less to learn basic skills than to build and get feedback and direction on work that I am currently doing. I think this place will be good for that and Im looking forward to taking more classes in the new year.

This place has become my favorite creative space. I really enjoy the classes and the instructors are very detailed and hands on. The location is great and very close to my home which makes it even better. I always look forward to spending my Saturdays at Hippo Factory.

Great art studio. They have regular figure drawing every Tuesday night 7-10pm and special drawing and painting classes with amazing teachers. Unique classes too like spray painting. 👍🏼

Hippo Factory is such a great space. It has a really low-key, fun vibe but the instruction is super professional. It’s a hidden gem!

I went in for 2 spray paint classes and honestly absolutely loved them . I haven’t gone recently due to personal reason but their instructors are great, happy to share their knowledge and a very warm welcoming atmosphere.

Im glad there is finally an Art Studio in the Jefferson Park/Crenshaw district. I had to go to Studios in Pasadena, Santa Monica, Reseda, Culver City or Westchester to draw from live models. This neighborhood needs a place like this where inner city kids and adults can have a space to show off their creativity and talent. Please come down and support this place. Help it grow. Bring your art supplies or just a sketchbook and some pencils. My two daughters agree 5 and 7 love drawing still life and Ive noticed their confidence grow exponentially everytime.
