Highly *highly* recommend and totally worth the tuition. I’d just moved to LA when I enrolled at NBS with very limited experience in the service industry. With the first few weeks I gained tons of invaluable experience both in the classes and on gigs. The instructors are all very knowledgable and experienced and will go the extra mile for you if/when you ask for help. I definitely feel a thousand times more confident and prepared applying for jobs having gone through NBS and feel like I’ve got a year’s worth of experience in just a couple months. Also a great way to meet cool new people (especially if you’re a transplant).

I absolutely love this school! The classes are really easy to understand. All the instructors are very patient, helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. You can take as many weeks and months you as need to complete/repeat the classes and get enough practice before the test. I was coming from far away, and requested 2 weeks off from work, within those 2 weeks I was able to attend to all the classes and practice behind the bar. The school is also an amazing place to get TIPS certified, making everything easy to understand in an amazing amount of time. They also have Master classes which are extremely fun and informative. Thank you National Bartenders School for everything! You guys are absolutely amazing! It feels like my second home! I am extremely excited to start Bartending, I went from knowing nothing about Bartending, drinks, etc to knowing more than what I ever imagined!

I havent found a job that I am actually passionate about until I started with NBS more than 6 months ago. Moving to LA and wanting to become a bartender, I knew a school would be invaluable since I have no prior bartending experience. Well Im so glad I went with National Bartenders because it is THE best bartending school in LA! Though the class does cost a pretty penny, you make it all back with the work opportunities they provide. So far, Ive worked a nonprofit fundraising event, Kaskades sun soaked music festival in Long Beach, and a Free People experience at an organic farm in Malibu. I cant say enough good things about this school and would highly recommend. They are frequently posting opportunities for permanent bartending positions as well. A really great group of people to work for and learn from, but cool students to work with as well. I love it!

They have various classes on how to create cocktails and how to manage the bar area. The training bar is very useful and you can always come and practice whenever. I stumbled upon this company through a job search on google and I’m glad I did. The training they have for aspiring bartenders is pretty incompatible. They do a great job of giving you the tools you need to not just be a bartender but to be a great bartender! They even have job opportunities for you once you pass the course which is awesome. My only negative is that I do wish they had more work but it gets booked up fast. Came here years ago and had a good experience. Decided to get back into bartending and came for refresher courses. Patty & Raul are great instructors. You get lots of chances to practice your skills. They dont rush you through the classes so you can repeat lessons if needed. And they have a plenty of job referrals and placement after youre done. I am super happy with my choice to attend this school! Convenient location and schedule. I was able to go through the course in a couple of weeks with a full-time job. Staff is very genial and modest. You can come and practice a fair amount of time during the day and take your practical test as many times as you need. Everything is set up for students success and the rest is of course up to you.Besides that, an opportunity to work gigs is not an empty promise.Like I said, very pleased with my experience.

They are the perfect balance of knowledgeable and casual, approachable and skilled. My experience with National Bartenders is worth so much more than I thought. The teachers and all the staff are all very knowledgeable, responsive, and professional. And they all are open about their own methods and tricks, and always made sure people feel comfortable about asking any questions.The class itself is very hands-on, and even when you arent practicing (when there are too many people), you get to meet people and help out each other.The notebook they give you is very comprehensive and, while there are lots of typos, it almost adds to its charm since you need to make your own edits and additions anyway. It sort of adds to the character and ownership of it.Personally, I havent taken advantage of the working opportunities yet, since I have only been going a week, but its very refreshing to see how responsive and proactive the staff is about posting jobs and getting everyone organized.I would absolutely recommend the school to anyone of any skill level, because beginners and experts alike can benefit from the amazing environment and experience!

I always wanted to fill my lack of basics on cocktails. Being a big cocktail drinker, I wanted to enjoy not only the drink but the whole experience (whats in a cocktail, how is it made,...). I am currently attending National Bartending School and so far Ive had nothing but great experiences learning about the world of bartending here. Every instructor Ive met so far are all great in their own way. For instance, Luis was the first instructor I met and he puts himself out there to teach you things about bartending that isnt normally taught to students at other bartending schools. On the other hand, Jason really digs down to the history of each drink and it captivates me in a way of whether or not the history behind the drink is true or false. Moreover, the mini speed tests he gives really pumps you to do your best and prepares you for many things in a real world situation. Lastly, Patricia is the first person I met over the phone, but third person I met in person. Patricia always has great stories to tell and is just as helpful as the other instructors. Essentially, all the instructors here are amazing. I definitely recommend attending this school if youre looking to get started in bartending, regardless if you have experience or no experience.

Luis and patti are very knowledgeable. Would be nice to have a projector with a PowerPoint presentation to help student memorize the drinks. Also selling flash cards with picture of how the drinks looks would be helpful , they sell the flash cards without the drink pictures. I did mines by myself and it helps memorizing. In order for the school to work you must practice and study ! Like anything in life if you don’t study or practice it won’t work

So I’ve worked events NB Staffing for a couple of years, and I started when they only had 2 locations and maybe under a 100 staff. Since then they’ve grown exponentially in size and popularity. This is all for good reason. They provide a much needed service to the many event hosts of SoCal; all the while giving job seekers a way of making great income and learning new skills. The comprehensive classes they offer at their schools ensure that their staff are well versed in all aspects of bar tending and serving. Despite his success, the owner, Paul, remains humble and approachable and seems generally interested helping the local entrepreneur thrive in today’s gig economy. The school is fantastic. Patty and all the instructors are warm and friendly. The classes are fun and interactive. You learn by a hands on approach by being behind a mock bar and practicing cocktail making. This is definitely the best school to for Bartending, I can’t recommend it enough.

The whole National Bartenders School and Staffing of Los Angeles team are great people and work with you in any circumstance. Although others say bartenders school is a waste of time, its worth every second and penny. I learned so much more than mixing drinks but also brief history about liquors and their names. This school creates professional Top of the Line Bartenders. Would do it again !

I got very in depth, hands on training from teachers who know what they are talking about! Everyone is super chill and care that, if youre putting in the effort, you are going to be a very prepared bartender. Very cool if you are even a little interested in alcohol. Just work hard and practice and you will seriously know your stuff. And they allow you to work almost right away! Thumbs up

My experience with NBS has been top notch! The staff is extremely responsive and reliable.The school was awesome because not only were the teachers teaching you from their real world experience but you get hands on training behind a full scale mock up bar! I just started about 3 weeks ago, and I love how the classes are hands on. The time goes by super quick. Anyone who isn’t coming to national bar staffing is really missing out. I mean hey, you’re getting trained to be a state licensed bartender and NBS has work on the weekends for you. Go join!!

I just started at NBS last week and I have already worked a few gigs as well as have been offered others! The class is fun and the instructors are great! I love that they are training me but also setting me up with real experiences to perfect my skills. The managers are very prompt with their responses and very helpful in scheduling. I have had a great experience so far with this company! I’ve been wanting to bartend for years and I’m glad I found a place that was willing to train me and get me jobs!

Ive been coming to National Bartenders for a couple of months to get my bartending certification. Theyre really great about accommodating my schedule and making it easy to learn. Thomas was my instructor and hes both patient and knowledgeable about drinks and recipes. Patty is also great to have in the office for any questions as well as scheduling. Would recommend to anyone looking to get certified. Super fun classes and works with your schedule.

Paul and the National Bar Staffing schools and staff are thorough and on top of their details. Once you graduate, they can help you book gigs to learn the craft in a more hands-on way (and you get paid!). Plus they treat their staff very well. I highly recommend their schools, training, and staffing agency. I have two years of experience with them to back that up. ;)

My decision to attend NBS to start off my career in bartending was one of the best decisions I made in my life. Knowing drink recipes is one thing but possessing the ability to make over 100 different cocktails with high standards efficiently is a whole other story. The instructors are very invested in the success of the students and will provide as much help as needed in order to prepare them for not just employment but hectic shifts behind a real bar.Patty and Raul are some of the most friendly, knowledgeable, and positive individuals who you will meet. They will encourage and motivate you to be the best you can possibly be in the art of bartending. Both of them have made a career in the hospitality business as bartenders. The way I see it if you want to become a successful bartender you should learn from people who have been there and done it.I would recommend anyone who is thinking about becoming a bartender to not wait or hesitate and sign up for the Master’s Program. The Master’s Program includes not only the certification but also flair, craft cocktail, craft beer, and advanced food and wine pairing. I love every single one of the classes they offer especially the flair courses. Raul possesses competition level flair skills and can perform mind blowing tricks with tins, bottles, and bar tools you have never seen before.Last but not least the company assists students with permanent employment opportunities as well as paid events such as weddings, music festivals, and parties. Overall I would rate this school 10 stars if only Google allowed.

This is a top notch service/events company and bartender school. After taking the first required course, I was immediately getting work serving while continuing NBS school. This allowed me to continue getting a great mixology and service education while still making money! The staff are easy to communicate with and are on top of both the school and working with clients and tons of events.Ive worked events where we needed another server immediately before guests showed up and NBS was on top of it, sending in a trained server within minutes. The school has great teachers with regular classes scheduled almost every day throughout the day, so you could get your accreditation in only a matter of weeks if you wanted to!

So happy I made the choice to go to NBS. Not only is there comprehensive, behind the bar training (best way to learn for me), its FUN! If definitely comes down to how much effort and time you want to put in. The more focused and consistent you are at coming to school, the better youll learn and stay in touch with the staff. The instructors are great - very informative, hands-on, and positive.You can also do separate master classes to really dive into craft beer, wine, flair and other interesting deeper topics. Not only that, but they are great about staffing events ranging from server, barback, to full bartender positions!This is a great way to get into the industry, especially if you are just starting out!

I would definitely recommend working with this agency if you are serious about becoming a contract bartender, or are thinking of doing other jobs in the service industry. They offer a great training program and continuous job placement after you receive your certification with them. Ive had nothing but a great experience with this agency, and love their ongoing assistance with job placement. :)

NBS is a great program for anyone trying to become a bartender or that just wants to learn a new trade. The staff is very helpful and friendly, making it an overall fun learning experience. They make sure to try and place you at the hundreds of events they get every week. I have tried other bartending programs before and this one is by far the best and most organized. Not to mention they have the best teachers and staff you could ask for.

I had the fortune of studying under the tutelage of the fine cocktail masters and mistresses at this establishment, and I couldnt have been more pleased with the results. Theyve sped my progress behind the bar by giving various insights into the craft, hands on education, and a space to learn from my mistakes in a friendly and forgiving environment. Currently attending and have nothing but nice things to say about this school. Teachers are knowledgeable and helpful. You’re able to work events prior to graduation. I have worked 2 events and they’re a ton of fun and staff communicates very well with you. I see a lot of jobs available when you become a barter so I can’t wait to complete and represent them! Highly recommend you check them out you won’t regret it !

Taff was polite, hard working, friendly and willing to do anything needed. Great personalities and wonderful service skills. The were happy to move umbrellas when the sun shifted as well as respectful chat with guests at the bar. They are a great find. THANKS

This school is not only the real deal when it comes to prepping you for the real world, the staff are all incredibly nice and committed to making you a top notch bartender. Learned so much from Cy and Manny, some of the most awesome teachers you’ll ever have. And Adrian is perhaps the kindest and most competent tester in the world - they really are an amazing staff, run by Patty, who will whip you into shape and take the best care of you through your entire process. Don’t hesitate to sign up - it is one hundred percent worth the investment in your future and is a ton of fun to boot.

Writing this for Paul Canzoneri, who is an excellent instructor at NBS. He conducts the practical exam at the end of the course and although he really pushes you to know your stuff hes very fair and always willing to help. All of the instructors really do want you to succeed and if you pay attention and put in the work you will. Overall, very happy with my experience.

I absolutely love NBS! Although it did take me a bit longer than I anticipated to finish, I got it done & Im so glad I did. They give you a booklet w/ the 8 lessons & recipes, & offer color coded flash cards for $25. (Which helped me tremendously!!) And I cant forget to mention the full bar they have for you to practice on basically anytime. Patty is the BEST, Ive never met someone as knowledgeable about alcohol as she is! Thomas is amazing, patient, & definitely knows what hes talking about.I have had the opportunity to travel all over LA Bartending some pretty awesome events/parties. Best decision Ive made thus far...Thank you NBS!

By far the best choice ive made this year! The staff is amazing and they are always incredibly helpful and nice. Coming from Ecuador I would sometimes have problems understanding some concepts, but the bilingual instructors would always help me get the right idea. Besides that, getting a gig for a night as a server or bartender couldnt have had been easier! I cant stress this enough, but if I could put 6 stars, I wouldnt hesitate. Amazing staff, and amazing classes!!

I initially signed up with NBS in the Thousand Oaks location. The staff was amazing and always had great vibes around an encouraging learning environment. The best part is that the locations are all over, making it even easier to get your cert.... I must say the whiskey tasting class had to be one of my favorites. You get a chance to learn all aspects, including the tasty ones!

I loved taking classes at NBS. The teachers really took their time and helped me understand things. If I felt like I wasnt catching onto something they would stay after and work with me. It was easy to make my own schedule and I started taking jobs immediately. Thank you NBS!

My instructor was Patty Johnson. She was a little hard to hear at times, but she repeated sentences and you were allowed to ask questions for clarifications, so that was great! Great sense of humor for sure! Was enjoyable to listen to her stories and crazy things she has encountered working as a bartender!

I started at this school a few months ago and am so happy I did. The instructors are great, very knowledgeable and make the classes fun! It’s perfect for someone who needs a flexible way to make some good money. There are lots of job opportunities every week so it’s easy to get work. I’d highly recommend it if you’ve ever wanted to bartend!

I have been at the National Bartending School for about a month now. Ive taken all the courses and it has been a great experience. I truly enjoyed the classes and the instructors are all very knowledgeable and helpful. I started with absolutely zero experience and within three weeks, I was able to make 11 drinks in 7 minutes. To pass the test, you need to be able to make 12 drinks in 7 minutes. Thats how quickly you learn at this great school. Plus, you get to work events, so you get paid as you learn. Give it a shot! Or rather, take a shot!
