Mr. Haywood Thompson is the principal of 54th Street Charter School. In my opinion it is one of the best administered Schools in the district. His staff is courteous and conscientious. They pour into their students their very best and it shows. The classrooms are well-disciplined and the students carry themselves as though they were serious about learning. They even have a chess program that students are taking at the school everyone in the school gets to study chess. Some are allowed to be on the chess team, their team won 3rd place overall on their first entry into the Chest Tutors Grand Match Gala competition. Do not sleep on 54th Street Charter School its a rare gem in the city
