Brings back a lot of memories. I remember going to school here. I use to live 5 minutes away

I attended Hoover Street Elementary School in the late 1940s and have mostly good memories of my experience. One teacher, in particular, I will never forget as she was extremely helpful and kind to me. My parents had recently divorced so I was in an upset nervous state of mind and struggleing. That teachers name was Mrs. Ivy Wright and I will be forever grateful for her encouragement and interest in my well being.I eventually went on to high school in Anaheim and then became an architect. now retired, and cannow say that life is good. Mrs. Wright , probably gone now, but is remembered as one who played an important part of my life.Good teachers play a very, very important role in helping to shape developing minds !!!

Really miss Hoover ... I met amazing friends there whom I still hang with today theyve been brothers too me and Im proud of that Hoover brought great teachers with amazing life lessons will forever miss Hoover

It was where I learned to do so much... Read, Write math, Type, play basketball, shoot Marbels, dress like Dracula..And my first Kiss from Arlene in the 5th grade! Life was easy..used to buy tops baseball cards around the corner.. good times!

Learning my education in the fith grade was a wonderful expirience for me. I can recall a moment when back then,your monthly report card was E for Excellent S for Satisfactory, and U for Unsatistactory. During my fith grade at hoover, I had earned such exceptional report card of all Es that IS had asked Miss Tatilian if she had made a or an error on my report card. She had confirmed to me that there was no mistake. She had also told me that I was a bright student and very eager to learn. I can also recall when she had afvanced me from english book pamorama to fista book. Anybody who went to this school in 1975 or 1976 can understand what Im trying to explain. Those are just a few of my fondest memories that I can recall. I can also remember my history/math teacher Mrs Polycheck. She was a wonderful teacher also...more strick than any teacher I have ever had. On one ocassion, she had caught me and a few buddies in a spitting contest and lectured us on the rudeness behind it. So as time out if you can call it, she had me and my fellow classmates wash down where we had spit at, and rinse it with our lunch plastic cups with water. A lesson never to be forgotten. A corny story to some but an educational one for me. MY this letter or story find its way through my wifes google. Thank kindly for reading it Hector B.Zamudio Banks.
