The worlds language magnet is an excellent program. Students are always pushed to do their best and helped out by staff and teachers. A wide range of languages students can learn. And overall the Venice High community is tightly knit so anyone that graduates from Venice High will be proud to be a Gondolier.

My child is in his second year in the engineering magnet at Venice HS, and I have only good things to say about the school. Whatever went on there in the past is clearly over. The teachers and administration are engaged, involved, and responsive. My child has learned a huge amount and is always eager to begin the next school day. I hope that they keep up the great work that theyre doing.

My experience at Venice High has exceeded my expectations. My daughter is in the STEM Magnet and a Cheerleader and is a straight A student. I believe that her grades this year are in part due to the help the Principal gave to make sure she was in the classes that best worked for her. Since Dr. Wiedoeft arrived, everything has gone up, attendance, graduation, testing scores, safety, and more. I am glad that we chose Venice.

Both of our girls have really excelled at Venice. The world language magnet is excellent. Our oldest daughter was admitted into multiple UCs and private colleges last year. Our principal, Dr. Wiedoeft brings tremendous energy and inspiring commitment to the school and students, who relate to her easily. P.S. Theyve loved playing on the volleyball team which is one of the very best in the league. Thanks Venice!

As a parent I am very happy with Venice High. I feel my boys are getting a great education from teachers that truly care and with facility that supports them. Under the direction of our new principal I can see that this diverse school is on an uphill trajectory!

Overall, I really liked Venice High. I feel that my nephew could have done better if he had involved himself in more clubs. As an African-American male he got lost in the mix. I wish he would have joined BSU, but he chose not to. He has done well considering all things. He is now on his way to California Baptist University, in Riverside to live on campus. I thank Venice for providing numerous choices for him, even though he didnt choose them all. Thank you, Venice!

Very old school with lots of history. Famous as the school where they filmed the movie Grease and Grease 2.

I attended Venice high school from 2009-2011. I was part of the magnet program and was supposed to be class of 2013.Venice high does a good job of maintaining its image-- its the posterchild for good schools-- they have an open, ungated campus, nice statues and fancy placards, big fields, athletic appeal for student athletes hoping to get drafted, and boasts a language program.Let me tell you that this is all a front. All schools have social problems and bullying problems, so I wont bother addressing those issues. But I will say is that it is a VERY unsafe school... Your children will probably be safer at Crenshaw high school... Seriously.1) During my years here I saw many student consume and sell drugs right on campus, right in front of classrooms. And Im not talking about weed-- I mean actual narcotics like opioids and cocaine. Teachers are oblivious.2) There is an ongoing problem of hazing and sexual assault on this campus. Look it up. In 2015, 10 people on the football team were arrested for SEXUAL ASSAULT.3) Venice high school does a bad job at addressing issues. If youre a problem kid or perform poorly in classes, they dont offer you HELP. Their solution is to get RID of you. Most** of the teachers are rude and uncaring. I had a lot of emotional problems and home problems as a teen. I missed a lot of school and consistently failed classes. No one bat an eye or bothered to ask me what I was going through. The teachers were unsympathetic and seemed to not care. I dropped out of school for about a year and decided to go back. A counselor discouraged me from coming back and told me to settle for a GED. Luckily, I went elsewhere and graduated on time. But just be wary, this school is more concerned with its athletes and maintaining their reputation so they can continue being funded. Avoid this school at all costs.
