I graduated from ACC 20 years ago and it was the best decision I made at the time. From my externship I was hired and I been working for the same company for 20 years now. I want to return for another program but it is so much more expensive than others schools I am finding.

Worst college ever! Once you graduate they will only call you for your money for the program( MA). I graduated at may 2021 and till today I haven’t received my diploma and when you try to contact them about this they act extremely rude towards you and tell you that “they are working on it”. And not to mention when ur late on a payment the will call you almost 7 times a day trying to get a hold of you to make your payment but when you try to contact them for help they will be rude to you and tell you to contact another person and that other person will tell you the same thing.Wouldn’t recommend unless you like getting PLAYED!Be carful when enrolling to this trash college.

As a graduate student from the MBC program I can honestly say ACC has provided me a great learning experience filled with all the lessons I would need in the real world. Before joining the MBC program I was pursuing a career in surgical tech. at the same campus but it wasnt the right career choice for me. I got helped from my great advisor counselor Suzette, who was always so friendly since the beginning, and along with Mr. Jamison to change careers. I was lucky enough to have been taught by Ms. Nini, who gave all her time and passion into teaching. She was very detailed in everything she taught mixed with real life events in the workplace that may occur. Her story in itself started a fire in me to want to continue in the same direction as her. I also would say career services were very helpful and will take their time out of their day to help your needs. Ms Franco was very patient and helped me find my externship site, which I now work for, and for that I am so so thankful. If you couldnt tell already no matter what stage you are in at ACC there will always be a helping hand to guide you through the process of signing up, learning, and job searching. I couldnt have done it without all the staff at ACC.If youre looking at this school to attend take the time to give yourself a chance to be something in this world that could help others.Take the time to figure out more on this school and find a path thats right for you!Give ACC a chance!

The Admission Specialist, Lisa Marie Camarena was very unprofessional and rude. She was mean during her explanation in Nursing Info Session and directly says this program is not for you, you should take LVN or lower devision nursing schools. I have asked her 3 questions and all she said as answer was did you listen to info session and I have already expalined it. well you explained it but so many people asked the same question I asked and you cant just refuse to answer students if you had an ambiguity explanation. I dont recommend them to any of my family, friends and whoever reads my reveiw.

Many people complain that all they want is your money... that is very true. They are a business. They exist to make money. Everyone who signs up sees what they are paying and financial aid will work with you. Dont whine after you signed the dotted line... you signed for your certification/degree.That said the major complaint I have is the lack of clinical sites the school provides at the minute. As part of the lvn program the joke running is we are zoom nurses. This is not the schools fault. The new head of the line program seems to be working very hard to make sure she has the staff and sites for her students.Of the administration Ive met... Ms. Zamudio is amazing and having exchanged emails with other administrators of the VN program, they are eager for student to succeed. As to the professors.1st term teachers Mrs. Joyce(theory) and Mrs. D(Clinical) were also amazing. They made the classes fun in a way that makes you remember what you learned.2nd term: Mrs. A (Theory) is excellent. Very organized and thorough and willing to go above and beyond for students. Mrs. Lane, Ms, Tracy, and Ms, Parker the three clinicals instructors I see the most, have either been extremely creative in their teaching methods of skills over zoom, or made certain we knew the skill if we were at a clinical site.I am very excited for term three and hopefully more clinical. This school is not perfect, but I knew what I signed on for and they have done more for my education than other schools.

I am a formal student attending the lvn class. At the time of admission we were all told it would all be online yet they brought is back to campus during this pandemic. I was told they are not responsible if we get sick because we could get sick anywhere. Another thing is they do not respect peoples schedules at time of admission they say you should be fine , real time they say come to campus within 10 hours for a class from 8am to 4pm they dont really care if we get fired from work. Some thing else i dont agree is they do not want us via zoom on our phones or via zoom on phone in a car not even if the car is stationed like i understand a professional environment but even on a phone.

Im planning to send mu daughter to this school, but after reading all these reviews, Im having second thoughts, It seems to be a lot of money, and I do agree with some of the positive commands such as; you get what you put in, you need to to be a go getter, but for that kind of money I would rather invested in a community college or university even if is double the price. That just my opinion and I hope that if this school has that reputation, they still have an opportunity to clean up their act and deliver quality education. We cant always take all the negatives but in this case when you are making such an investment, you have to be wise and do your own research.

I was fresh out of high school , didnt want togo to college . So I decided to attend their pharmacy tech program. I was young and naive believe all their lies. The program is way too expensive. Ive seen people at my job get the certificate for only paying test fees like 200. I didnt realize you could get certification without going to school. All you need is 200hrs in a pharmacy as a clerk n study for a test.Ive also attempted to get a job with them as they told me it was lifetime job placement, that was not the case. The excuse i got was too many students that just graduated they didnt have the time to help me. If i could do it over again i wouldnt. Do your research and maybe youll be able to find a community college for less money. Hopefully this helps someone. Was in the pharmacy field for 11 years at a popular corporate pharmacy. Awesome opportunity. I graduated on April of 2018 in less than a year with my Dental Assistant certificate.I entered some info online and got a call back from ACC in less than a week to set up a tour and appointment. Garin, who helped me enroll was super helpful and sweet. She walked me through the different courses they offer like Medical assistant, dental, surgery technician, optometry and medical billing and coding. I was initially interested in Dental assisting so that’s what I did. I started class almost three weeks after my appointment. The class was small (maybe 19 students the most) and the teachers are great. I studied with Ms. Aguilar and Ms.Perez. Both teachers are awesome professionals who have been in the field for years, they definitely know what they’re doing and doing an awesome teaching. They offered four hour class Mon-Fri with two hours of lecture and two hours lab. The structure of the class/classroom is set up so we do the most learning without moving forward without the knowledge. Time flies! You’re required to do clinical hours which is made to help you before officially going out to the field. When the courses are completed they help you send your resumes to offices that are currently seeking. I received several job offers without sending not one resume myself. I finally found a great office. I’m thankful for the structure of ACC and all the staff and teachers that help others like me find a career that I love.Definitely consider American career college when looking to find a rewarding career.

Went here because community college didnt cut it for me and ACC isnt a bad school you get the hands on training you need and learn what you need to in the Medical Assistant field and I had one of the best instructors here her name was Mrs.Padilla. She taught so much in such little time the hands on training which was lab work this was the was the best experience I ever had. I love my class and what I learned and my instructor. I just didnt like on how expensive the course was its 18 thousand dollars and a 9 month program! I never found a job as a Medical Assistant. And stuck paying this loan which is a bummer. FYI they always have events like free in n out for students to stay and enjoy there time to destract them from paying their loans and be in debit. So dont be fooled. My biggest concern is also whenever Id show up to career services and ask for a job theyll ask me the same question and give me a run around and waste my time. And Jesse took forever to find me an externsite which almost made me drop from the program. This school wont let you graduate unless you finish 200 hrs of extern in the MA program. And The career service people here are a big waste of time they never stick to their word and always say well follow up with you or call us even then Id return the call for my job application but nothing. TBH theyll never help . I looked for a job online and yet nothing. EVEN THOUGH THE SCHOOL PROMISES TO GIVE YOU A JOB BUT THEY DONT. My advisor also never told me its impossible to find a job as a Medical Assistant if you dont speak spanish, korean, chinese, japanese and arabic. Trully I wanted to become an LVN but she pushed my mind away from becoming one and started telling me that becoming an LVN doesnt grant you a good job and you need to clean patients and such she basically told me an LVN is a dirty job and a waste of time and I shouldnt take it. Furthermore, she never explained As a non spanish speaker I wouldnt know Id be struggling to find job in this field till this day. Also Medical Assistants dont get paid much they start you off at 11$ an hour the lowest at most and the highest 13$. Might as well work for in n out were you get paid more and have benefits or work for a union based job. Because not all Medial Assistant jobs grant you high pay and have you working in the back which is the lab you mainly work in the front answering patient phone calls and setting up appointments, verifying insurance deal with copays and legitally sit down all day. Honestly this program was a big waste of time this place is big on business and just want your money thats all the care about if you want to settle for more go for LVN or RN and take it in a different school. This schools location is horrible its surrounded by traffic left and right especially in the morning and cracked out homeless people living in tents near by.

I graduated from the ACC LVN program in 2008. I had a good experience. I enjoyed my theory instructors but my clinical instructors, I had a few that I felt were not fit for the job but oh well, I got through it. Yes, we all have bad experiences and I am not saying this school is wonderful but I am sure it is not the only school that is in it for the money. We have to remember that the school does not make the student, the student makes the student. If we show that we want to learn and respect, we can demand education and respect back. Education is a business just like everything else, you need money to get in and while your there you are still giving them money but at the end of the day it is up to us to make a difference. You are the one paying that means you have the right to make demands when it comes to your education. Just like you are working to pay them, if they want your money make them work for it before and after you get in. Its your money they want they have to earn it.

I think that anyone who is considering attending this school should take the bad reviews with a grain of salt. The outcome of your experience here really depends on you. Make sure you read your paperwork, understand what youre getting into, and act accordingly. I feel that a lot of people just go into it mindlessly, and expect a miracle to happen. That isnt how it works. You have to show up in class, you have to do the work, and at the end, you need to make effort too. You cant expect your externship coordinator to do all the work. Make the effort, and dont act like youre the only person eating in a busy restaurant. They have other students they have to take care of, the world doesnt revolve around you. Yes, you have super high tuition, but you need to make it worth it. I attended the opticianry program, and I made it worth it. Sure, I couldve just gone to LensCrafters or wherever, and gotten the training instead of coming to school, but going to the school made me a better optician because I learned about the why behind the how. I made sure to make it really worth it by passing both of the board exams, and I really gotta hand it to my teacher, Ms Patty Estrada, for helping me to make that happen. Nothing is gonna fall into your hands, people, you have to make it work. If youre not willing to do that, then this school isnt for you. Its a high tuition, along with an accelerated program that will leave you in the dust if you let yourself fall behind. That said, I really enjoyed my experience, and Im glad I did it after spending years in restaurants. I cannot thank Ms Patty Estrada enough for her expertise, as well as her teaching ability. She turned me into a teacher, I began teaching my classmates things too. Mr Benny and Ms Adriana were amazing as well, they had a small part in it. Rosie was a wonderful counselor, and Ruthy put herself out there for all the students. Jason was a great coordinator too, he helped to get me placed and ultimately employed. Where I ended up was ultimately my doing, but he did his best to help me. Thank you ACC staff for your effort and time, and now Im ready to move forward...

Save your money and please go to an actual regional accredited college. The so-called degree you buy from this institution is the most expensive piece of toilet paper you can buy. It does not matter what program you decide to pursue with this for-profit college, you will lose money and time while this money hungry school will attempt to squeeze every bit of money out of you. If your passion lies in the medical field, I can not stress this enough...PLEASE GO TO A LEGITIMATE COLLEGE AND EARN A DEGREE! This place, along with other for-profit institutions should not even be considered when looking at potential schools. You get what you pay for and that is something this place does not disappoint, a worthless piece of paper at the end of an accelerated program that potential employers will laugh at. Am writing this review now in hopes to give some perspective to any future individual thats thinking of attending this college...I attended their school back in 2012 for the medical billing program and it was the worse decision I made. I didnt learn anything and was sent to some bad externships that werent teaching me anything except how to file papers, that in the end only wanted to hire me at $9 an hour with no promises of teaching me the real world of medical billing because they were fully staffed on billers. Now I know its not the Externship fault but come on now, if your hoping on your students to learn the actual skill in real life make some effort on finding externships that will help and give them experience to say the least. This way there confident going out to the real world with some type of actual experience to find a job on their own. Now 2018 (yes 6 years later) I still owe my student loan of 11 grand that I got from them, as well as another 3 grand on top of that for their own fees. What makes matters worse now is that just recently their administration office has been contacting my family, friends, and co-workers looking for me which really upsets me. Its my own personal information that shouldnt be shared with others. I finally emailed them and let them know to stop contacting my friends, family and co-workers and that when am ready financially I will contact them. I gave them two stars because I know their simply doing their job on collecting payments and all but seriously contacting my family, friends and co-workers really hit the nail to make me write this review. So please if you made it this far on reading this, do your research fully when looking at a program.. In any school! The last thing you want is to end up like me owing all this money with nothing to prove. All best and good luck to all.

If I could rate this school less than one star I would. When I read reviews online I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went and visited the school. All I can say is that all those people in the admitting department MUST have majored in Acting and/or Sales because they had me sold. We started the program and it seemed okay for a couple days. We got our curriculum and uniforms but as soon as the teaching actually started things went south. I literally taught myself the entire 2 months I was there. The clinical instructors act like its a chore to be there and some of the students who are Medical Assistants had to TEACH THEM things!! This place is a total joke and should have their license taken away. Its $33,000 for the program and the way they sell it to you they make you think that it is worth it. I wish I hadnt been sold by what they told me because its been the biggest waste of time ever. I just dropped out and ended up paying about $3500 for 2 months where all I did was read a book to myself and take tests on things they never taught. If you have even half a brain you will listen to these reviews and dont go. Save your money and go to a community college and get an ADN degree. Trust me. Thats what I am doing and what I should have done before.

I graduated with from ACC with my LVN and this place is OUTSTANDING there isn’t a better LVN program, I am going to give a detailed review of this school.Dean/Director Mrs. Alfaro is awesome let me lead with that, she is an outstanding leader and DEMANDS excellence from the students and wants the best for the program. My group had the pleasure of being her first graduating class since she became the director and it was to our benefit. Mrs Alfaro is stern but if you put in the effort and work hard she will do anything to facilitate your success and for that I greatly respect her.Assistant Dean/Director: Mr Roberts ill be honest here I really didnt like him when I was a student, he came to the program when I was in Term 3 and he rubbed me the wrong way to say the least. But when he subbed as a teacher he was a WEALTH of knowledge and his experience showed in his teaching style. As the program came to an end Mr Roberts was very helpful and I learned to respect him and I understood that his leadership style was used to make all of us better students and future nurses, he is a great resource.Term 1:The initial term is Introduction to Client Centered Care I essentially this course is getting you acclimated with the history of nursing, nursing foundations, nutrition, pharmacology and human anatomy/physiology. This term was easy imo if you read the book and do the work you should have no issues. My group had Mrs. Alfaro teach us for the first 6 weeks and then Mrs. Daisy stepped in and she was pretty awful BUT if you stay on top of your studies this should be a nice term. The new term 1 instructor Ms Jocelyn is fantastic.Term 1 Clinical: If you get lucky you will get Mrs. Ramos, clinical is a completely different animal than class because it requires that you use the skills that you have learned in skills lab. Mrs. Ramos is amazing in term 1, she makes you work hard but the knowledge that you acquire from her will last forever and make you a great nurse in the future. I can still hear Mrs. Ramos in my head even when I am at work now, she really teaches you how to prepare yourself for the floor.Term 2: IMO this was the hardest term, Introduction to the Client with Self-Care Deficits II This term covers more in depth systems of the human body what makes this term hard is there is a test EVERYDAY, so if youre lazy you need to step it up in this term, we lost quite a few students in this term in my group, Ms. Ariyan is AWESOME, to say that she was helpful would be an understatement she did everything she could to prepare us for each test, and mostly she was very relatable to the students she is a great instructor in this term.Term 2 clinical: If youre lucky here too you will get Mrs Lane I had here for term 2 and 3, clinical in this term is hard if you have Lane, she is no nonsense and DEMANDS that you know your stuff..and she sees right through student BS, But with all of that said Lane REALLY teaches you how to chart, assess and manage your time on the floor, In this term you will start giving medications and Lane does a great job teaching you how that process works and what you SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT do I am forever grateful to Mrs. Lane.Term 3: is Introduction to the Client with Self-Care Deficits III This term is most Endocrine, its roughly 75% of the term, STUDY ..If you made this far you really dont need much advice just do the work..This term was hard mentally because you can see the finish line but it still out of reach...just keep working. Term 3 Clinical: the only difference in this term from term 2 is that you start doing blood sugar checks.Term 4: This term brings it all together by this Term you are nurse in everything but title, this term isnt what I would call HARD..its just a TON of work, more so than any other term, plus you have Capstone. What helps through this term is Ms. Bustos she is ideal for this term because she completely alleviates the stress by her teaching style. I was lucky enough to have her for clinical also, she was by far my favorite instructor.

Please read this review before you make ANY decisions to attend ACC. It is for your own benefit, I promise.Term 1:My theory teacher was amazing. She changed my life and outlook on nursing for the best. My Clinicals experience, however, was another story. We were at a facility in Brentwood, where we were not allowed to do anything. We sat in a room for hours and did homework. Our clinicals professor was also a complete joke. She would tell us that she didn’t have time to review our care plans and that she “didn’t get paid to take work home”.Term 2: - Theory teacher was great, again. A much better teacher for clinicals, but again the facility itself was a NIGHTMARE. Fountain View facility, is hell. The staff was rude to all the students, would not let us participate in any type of patient care. Not to mention, more than half of our clinical weekends were spent on campus, sitting and doing nothing.I can easily say more of our clinicals hours were clocked sitting on campus, than obtaining actual hands on experience.Term 4: At this point I was so ready to just be done with this hell hole of a school. What we were told is if you pass the HESI, you are done with classes and the school sends your paperwork to the board, and you get your letter to register for NCLEX. We were told also, by Ms.Ina Handojo, that we MUST attend one session of review within 45 days, in order to have the exam paid for, otherwise they will drop us from the program. Understood. I attended one review as instructed.I got my letter from the Board that I was eligible to register for my NCLEX. There was no code on my paperwork for the school to pay, So I called the schools ADON, and he said that the school does NOT pay for Nclex! I was shocked completely, because since term 1, we were told otherwise. I presented my concerns to him, and he then changed the story. He said “Well, there is a stipulation. The school will pay for your NCLEX IF you attend all review sessions (after having already graduating and passing HESI exit) and you get a 60% or higher on Ms.Ina’s practice exams and she feels you’re ready”. He suggested I speak with Ms.Ina and Dr. Samson. Dr. Samson at least pretended to hear me out. He stated he would look at my grades and get back to me. However, he then proceeded to tell me that this is not the case and what is listed in the paper work is that the school pays the registration fee of $150. I explained to him yes, that IS in the paperwork, right above where it says the school covers the $200 for NCLEX. I even screenshotted the paper work and sent it to him. He proceeded to state all paperwork had been revised and he began to list ALL of the conditions in which the student must complete, in order for the school to pay for the Nclex; NONE of which we were EVER informed of!!! NONE of which are listed in our paperwork. Made up rules so they don’t have to give us what they promised us. All we were informed of was the “45 day rule” which he claims he never even heard of! It seems that the administration just makes up rules as they please in this school. I was told by Dr. Samson that he would bring my case to the “Executive director” of the school, so I waited 2 days to hear back from him. When I finally reached back out to him, it sounded like he had zero intention of calling me back, and just gave me the same run around. A bunch of my classmates have reached out to him as well and he doesn’t return their calls. The administration of this school is a nightmare to deal with, and they don’t give a damn about their students. All they care about is getting you to sign up, getting your money, and then they completely push you aside along with ANY concerns you bring to their attention. It’s a scam. It’s a lie. Its all about the money. Do yourself a HUGE favor and go elsewhere. Even if it means being on a 2 year waiting list at a college. If you have any questions feel free to ask me and I’d be glad to talk to you!

My daughter went through the Medical Asst course. Had a good experience with the teachers and classes. Then she graduated with HONORS and PERFECT ATTENDENCES. When she signed up she was told they would help her with finding a job. They could not guarantee job placement but could help her with leads. The counselor(s) yes many she has gone through over the last 6 months, have epicly failed to help her in any way. The school got what they wanted and that is the $17,000 she is now in debt to pay back. They do not care once you have completed school. A waste of money. To obtain an eduction and not to be able to find employment is very dishearting.** ACC has failed and I would NOT recommend it to anyone. NO STARS. **

Extremely overpriced for diploma programs - their associate programs are fine, but the cost of these diploma programs is outrageous compared to the job prospects & starting salary you’re going to be making after graduation.

For all of you that cant find a job I know the struggle it took me a year to find a job. There is a lot of resources dont depend on the school there is agencies that can help you, post your resume in job sites. My experience in the school was ok... not the best I had a bully as a teacher. Just give a chance they do give you certain period of time to see if the career fits you.

Well I love this school I graduated from here in 2010 as a M.A. And got the blessed opertunity to go back and do ANOTHER career. The M.A. Instructor I had was wonderful as well as the current instructors I have now :) I have nothing but good compliments about this school because appearntly our school is way better than UEI,ICDC,BRYMAN,EVEREST ECT... And theres not only just one person graduating every year theres hundreds of people graduating so dont just leave the externship coordinator to help you find a job you have to make an effort yourself and do some job hunting as well. :)
