We had a family cupcake wars competition at Turnip the Beet. I had never baked a cupcake in my life and was not excited about giving up a couple hours during the day on Sunday. It turned out to be a lot of fun. We had 3 teams of 3 people. It was kid friendly. The host/judge was great. I highly recommend for anyone, but it would be a great family friendly activity during the holidays especially.

What a cool place, what a cool idea. We need more places like this so kids can discover the hidden passions they have that public schools miss out on completely! 5/5 stars, great instructors and the owner is a delight.

I purchased a Groupon for 2 of my grandchildren. They attended 2 classes each. They loved it. Last class had to be cancelled and rescheduled. No problems. Annie worked to reschedule and was very accommodating. Definitely recommend Turnip the Beet. Vicki Fried

We are in love with the new space. Its so bright and clean! My daughter has food allergies so finding a safe and fun cooking class has been difficult but this place fits the bill. Reasonable pricing too. My daughter loves Chef Sam and the owner Joy is also wonderful. We especially love the location being a block from our home and right across the street from the nice new playground equipment being installed at Toonerville Park. Highly recommend Turnip the Beet!

Took my niece here for the wheres the beef class before they moved locations. She LOVED it! She keeps asking when she can go back. Prices are reasonable, staff if great, patient and knowledgeable. They helped my niece feel confident and comfortable in the kitchen. The space was very cute and kid friendly. They have so much equipment thats bright, colorful and inviting for the kids to use. The best part is my niece can cook and make a mess there, learn to clean her mess there instead of in my kitchen haha. Love it Love it Love it. Would recommend to anyone with kiddos in their lives! The new location is pretty bomb too. More space, more like a commercial kitchen. I feel like its cleaner and we love the lobby space! I also like that its in historic old Louisville which is beautiful!

LOVE these folks! My friends and I took the French macaron class, and had a fabulous time. Chef Joy was so patient and knowledgeable, and I left feeling a little less afraid of burning down my own kitchen. Stopped by their new place on Brook Street to pick up info on culinary lessons for my cousin - you guys, it is SO nice in there! I cant wait to sign up for another class - I learned a lot! Thank you, Turnip the Beet!

Bought a Groupon for my son for cooking classes. First issue I had was the merchant automatically marks the Groupon as redeemed when you purchase it. I didnt find this out until a few days after making the purchase and I went to print off the Groupon but couldnt view it because it was showing it was already redeemed. I contacted Groupon who changed it back to unredeemed only to have this happen two more times before Groupon determined that this was the merchant doing this. Secondly, I contacted this business 4 times to schedule the classes for my son because if you have a Groupon you cant schedule them online. 3 of those times I left messages. I received a call back on a Sat late afternoon telling me that they were in the office Tues-Sat, but I wasnt in a place where I got cell reception so I didnt get the message until much later. The other two times (during business hours and days), I never got a call back. The one time someone actually answered the phone, I was told to call back the next day because the business was in the process of physically moving, which I did and got not call back. I finally had to contact Groupon who gave me Groupon bucks in exchange for this. These classes might be great, but good luck scheduling them. Really disappointing for my son.
