My daughter has been dancing at Upstage for approximately 3 years. We’ve had a great experience every year. This year she has joined the competition team. I’m seeing a whole new side of things and have been very pleased with how they manage to keep everything together. I’m excited for our year of competing!

We moved to Southern IN 6 years ago. My daughter was doing competition dance and I started researching studios in the Louisville area. After looking into it it for a few weeks I gave two studios an interview on the phone. I was really impressed with Upstage. I spoke to the owner on the phone for over 45 minutes and was invited down during spring break to tour the studio, meet the teachers and my daughter to take classes. She fell in love instantly. The staff and the dance team made her feel at home. We drive 45 minutes each was 4 days a week to attend every class she can. Now as she enters her senior year I am without words on what our Upstage Family means. My daughter has gone from the new girl to teacher. Her work ethic and determination are second to none and her ability to help with the younger team amazes me. Thank you to Lindsey for helping her become not only the dancer but young women that she is.

My daughter is finishing her 10th season taking recreational dance here. She loves it, and weve already signed up for season 11. One of the biggest reasons she loves this place is that she does not have a classical dancers body, and shes never been shamed for it at this studio (thats not the case at the two we tried before this one). Instead, her teachers (Ms. Leah for the last several years) recognize her strengths and use them in the choreography to make sure that she can participate in beautiful dances each recital. Shes taken combo (tap/ballet), tumbling, and musical theater. Shes grown as a dancer and performer, and shes made lifelong friends. And while this studio does have competition teams (who Ive seen perform outstandingly), theres been no pressure ever to do more, take more, pay more--recreational and competition students both receive attention and care, and that doesnt waiver based on skill level or number of classes--I cant stress enough how different that attitude is compared to other studios we tried. This is a teaching studio rather than a coaching one--by that I mean, anyone can stand in as a coach for a natural talent. Not everyone can teach skills and love for an activity to those who arent going pro. My daughter is a beautiful, animated dancer, and I love to see her do something she enjoys. This place gave/gives her that. And I know this is already too long for a Google review, but Id like to end with just saying that only twice in 10 years have I ever had concerns, and both times, Ms. Lindsey (the owner) responded immediately and appropriately. She truly has the best interests of the students in heart and mind.

My daughter has danced before with another company and I was not pleased which is why we made the switch to Upstage Dance Center. I cannot say enough good things about this company and their employees. Upstage has quickly turned into a second home for my daughter and she loves being there. The staff is wonderful and go above and beyond what they are expected to do...They have even called to remind me of certain dates and times when my mom brain kicks in and I forget. My daughter has improved tremendously in her dance skills and I cannot wait to see how far she can go! I would recommend Upstage Dance Center to anyone looking for a dance school!

I used to go to UDC and now my daughter is in classes. We love it! All the teachers are great and my daughter is learning so much. I recommend them to all my friends looking for a studio.

My daughter has been dancing there for about eight years. She loves it there. The teachers are great and fun and make the kids want to come back. They make wonderful choices in music and costumes and they have an abilities to pull the kids in and help them bond with each other. Rather your child is intermediate or has amazing skills they have a class for everyone in every dance it is truly an amazing place.

My oldest was here for a while and loved it even though dance was not her passion. Now my youngest is here and she loves it. She has come a long way. We love all of the teachers and staff. I cant wait to see how far she goes with all their help.

My daughter has danced at udc for 14 years. In that time she has participated in recreational dance and competitive dance. Wonderful caring and knowledgeable instructors that help develop and push child to be the best dancer they can. Along the way teaching my child the value of working as a team player and sportsmanship. The studio also provides many wonderful opportunities for children who might think that they would want a career in dance some day.

My daughter has been going to Upstage Dance since she was 3 years old. She loves it there! We moved to southern Indiana last year and still make the trip back once a week for Mrs. Leah’s musical theatre class! I highly recommend Upstage Dance for any child wanting to take dance classes.

My daughter loves Ms. Leigha & coming to class. She wasnt so fond of a teacher she had in the past so thought I was going to have to pull her but that teacher is no longer there & she got Ms. Leigha back so all is good! I just wish there were more class days/time options for her age group. Other than that, this place is AWESOME!!!

I can’t rave about this studio more. The coaches don’t only teach my daughter dance but instill life lessons that she needs everyday. This year has not been easy but because of the heart and determination of Lindsey and other coaches, the team thrived. The growth my daughter has shown is amazing, not only in her dance artistry but her confidence and work ethic. I am so proud to be apart of this studio, UDC dance family.

My daughter has been dancing here for 5 years and has grown so much during that time. The dance instructors are very kind and nice as well as the owner of the business. The students practice all year and then have recitals that are performed in front of friends and family which is a great experience for them. Highly recommend this place if you have a child wanting to dance.

My daughter has been dancing at Upstage for 7, almost 8 years now. She absolutely loves it. The instructors and staff are so friendly, welcoming, patient, and are very skilled in what they do. The recitals are nothing short of exciting and impressive. You will not be disappointed.

Love taking my little girl here. The staff are all wonderful and when I needed anything they were helpful. During the peak of COVID, they made the experience for the kids as best as they could while still trying to make everything fun. Recommend anyone starting their child in dance to take them here :)

We have loved our time at Upstage. The teachers and other staff are wonderful and helpful. As a recreational dancer we are treated like part of a family, and we can’t wait to see how that continues to grow as my daughter grows with the Company. Upstage Dance Centre has been a part of my daughters life now for 11 years. The studio owner and teachers are a wonderful group of people who truly care for the kids in relation to dance and on a personal level. My daughter has been a student since she was 3 yrs old. The moment she stepped inside the studio, she fell in love with dance.Under the tutelage of Lindsey and the other teachers, she has learned so much more than dance. She has learned about teamwork, working hard to obtain your goals and never giving up on your dreams.People often ask me about the time and money that is sacrificed for a dancer. However, I have a hard working student with the drive and determination to achieve her goals. She is smart and kind and loves to help the younger dancers. So much of what makes her the person she is she learned at UDC as a competition dancer and you can’t put a price on that.I would highly recommend this studio and we will deeply miss it and the people that have become family when she graduates next year.

My family has been associated with Upstage Dance Center (UDC) since it’s inception. However, our experiences with the owners and staff go past that time back to 2007. Throughout that time, my family, as well as the studio, have seen many changes and challenges.What began as an activity for one toddling red haired princess has grown into a family passion for a dance mom and her three young passionate dancers. Two of these dancers, both boys, began going to the studio as babies when only days old.I can honestly say, as I thought about what to write in this review, that we consider the staff and ownership of UDC family. Linsey, Leah, Tanesha, and many others have gone above and beyond to provide for their students, my children, as if they were caring, sweating, and fighting for their own children. Their laughter and tears are evident as the children perform and face the struggles of today’s youth. They provide so much more than just dance lessons. They teach work ethic, pride, how to both reach new height and, unfortunately, sometimes, how to fall, with grace. They provide life lessons with passion. They help to provide the village it takes to help raise a child in these hard times.

My daughters have both danced with UDC. My youngest is participating in her 3rd recital. She has been taught a very firm foundation of dance, through ballet and tap. Not only has she been taught the correct positions and movements, but also the correct vocabulary.UDC has been great with my girls. We have loved their teachers Lindsey and Leah. All other staff members and teachers are always pleasant hand professional.Dance is very affordable and the communication has been wonderful. Classes start around $40 a month. UDC works hard to make sure costumes and recitals are at a reasonable cost. They also make sure you are notified in plenty of time, if you need to make smaller payments. I’ve loved that the studio uses the Band app to get all information to parents. I have also received emails and notifications on the parent portal.We have loved our time at UDC. My youngest is trying competition cheer this year. I know the foundation she has been taught will enable her to be a successful cheerleader. UDC will always have a place in our hearts!
