Signed up my two oldest boys for Jiu-Jitsu with an enrollment special. The boys couldn’t have been happier. The facility is very clean and the instructors are great with kids. If you’re looking for a great kids summer sport - this is it. Build self-esteem and get some exercise!

The academy is immaculate, Instructors and staff treat you like family while at the same time providing Tier One expertise in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! I stopped by to check the place out while I was down here for a wedding and everyone was so welcoming! Incredible instruction and the instructor stayed after to demonstrate/answer some questions even though I wasnt a student of his. If I lived here in Kentucky, I would join this dojo without any hesitation. All the students gave me the warmest of welcomes and I know if Im ever in the area again, Im definitely dropping in again. Five stars does not do justice for this place. Give it a try and I promise youll agree!

I was seeking a place for my daughter to continue training while traveling. I contacted Gracie Kentucky and was invited to bring her in for a trial class.I was pleasantly surprised. The instructors were patient, kind and knowledgeable. The kids were sweet also. Given the nature of the sport, supervision is very important. Each class had an abundance of highly-qualified eyes chaperoning and assisting the children with their moves. I was extremely impressed with the student/teacher ratios.The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly. Most the instructors to a few seconds to come and personally welcome us to the gym and understand my daughters prior experience.My daughter definitely learned some new moves to take back to her home gym. If they will have us, we definitely plan to come back when we are in town again. Highly recommend this place.

This place is filled with wonderful vibes. Everyone in this academy practices a high level of modesty and looks to improve one another. My kids refer to their time on the mats as “fun night.” They often ask if they can stop by to tell Professor Scott the highlights in their life. He has a way of making the kids feel comfortable and also teaches honor, confidence and important lessons the kids respect. All the coaches are amazing with both the kids and adults. I am visiting from Oklahoma City and needed a place to train while on vacation. Professor Scott was very welcoming and friendly. The members took time to introduce themselves and meet me before class. The instruction was very detailed and great for all levels of training. The facility is very clean and modern. I just got back from training at Gracie Kentucky. I have to say this is one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) schools I have every been to. The place was really clean and everyone there was super cool. But most of all the quality of instruction was really top notch high level. The kids martial arts program was great too. i caught the last haft of the class while i was waiting for adult class to start. There were a lot of kids in the class and I could tell that the class was really well run. The kids were attentive and really paying good attention. Great place to train. Ill be back for sure.

I have been to many gyms and martial arts academys, from the United Kingdom to Florida (USA) to Kentucky (USA) and more. This is by far the best I have seen. An extremely welcoming environment. There is not a single big ego in the building. Its such a great family friendly place. No matter what level youre at, its definitely the only choice in Louisville.

My son and I went to try it out really not knowing what to expect and we both LOVED IT here. The staff is awesome and really took time to talk to us and explain things. Now both my son and I are members and really enjoy it!

We enrolled our child into the spider monkey program. The instructors are all top notch. They seem to genuinely enjoy working with the kids. The parents are all super friendly as well. You can get a sense of family from this business.

Great place, top notch professors, and always great folks watching their kids train. My son has developed so much as a kid and into a young man. Great train. Came from Renzo Brooklyn to get a good train in and this academy welcomed me with open arms. Clean, respectful, tough, and educated studio. The head instructor was extremely nice and made me feel right at home. A must stop if youre ever in the area.

Ive been an official student in the adult curriculum for 2 months now and it is the best atmosphere Ive been connected to. The facility is super clean, very nice faculty and top-notch instruction. Theres at least 2-3 black belt instructors present on most days and you can virtually train every day. An official school under the association of Master Pedro Sauer, Professor Scott Smith and his team get you as close to authentic, Gracie Jiu-jitsu as you can possibly get.

The connections you build with fellow classmates at this academy will last for years. I have been going since March of 16, and no matter how bad of day I have had, it always seems to get better the minute I enter the mat and the minute I leave. Extremely welcoming and family friendly atmosphere. The quality of the jiu jitsu you learn and the instructors is A+. Insrtuctors are amazing!! My son Dallas is a very shy child, since he started the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu class, his confidence has gotten so much better! He believes in his self, his social anxiety has gotten better! The instructors always let him know and notice when hes working really hard, when he makes mistakes they correct him without making him feel bad or embarrassed! The encouragement really motivates him to do better! I would def suggest this class to any child! A five star rating for sure from the Ford family

I have attended several of the womens self defense classes at this academy. The instructors are so helpful and truly care about your ability to retain the techniques they are instructing. After I leave work in the evening I feel safe because of what I have learned with this academy. Everyone needs to know some sort of self defense, and for a woman this is the best place to start.YOU HAVE AN AMAZING PROGRAM! Looking forward to the next one!

I was in Louisville this weekend traveling from Michigan, training for a year and looking for an academy with an outlook similar to the one I train at - Kaizen BJJ in Plymouth, MI, under Professor Ryan Fiorenzi. Professor Steve and the entire school was very welcoming and their approach was very close to my home school, which I very much appreciated. When I return to Louisville I hope to have time to roll here again.

I attended the Womens self defense class on Sunday, August 5, 2018. It was so BEAUTIFUL. INSPIRING and EMPOWERING!! Im a survivor of Domestic Violence and this class healed me on a level, I diddn1realize existed. Jessica was my trainer. She was AMAZING!! She had an enthusiasm to pass on to me the skills of self defense, that was so beautiful, it inspired me to want to share it with others! I have been training with Scott at GJJKY for a little over a year now. It is a wonderful place full of amazing people and instructors. Learning the art of Jiu Jitsu gave me a lot of confidence at work and in life. I was able to lose some substantial weight and it truly was the best workout Ive every experienced. I have been training under Scott Smith for 7 years. I have trained in both standard classes and private lessons. My three children have learned Jiu Jitsu from him. I would not consider training anywhere else because of his knowledge base, quality of character and personal integrity. I have been training at GJJKY for almost a year and a half. As an older, smaller woman it was exciting to find an academy that truly embraces everyone. I believe every woman should have some jiu jitsu knowledge. This is an art geared toward technique, not strength. Scott is great at making his girls feel welcome. The men at this academy are extremely helpful and supportive. I really feel like the people here are my brothers and sisters.
