Megan Trinkle was very helpful. I am trying to get as much as I can from my current hearing aids. They are not as high tech as the newer ones but I can’t afford new ones. Megan understood my situation and took the time to adjust the aids so that I am getting the maximum from them.

My intake was excellent. Everything went quickly and smoothly. The receptionist was especially welcoming and helpful. The test-givers were cheerful and considerate. All my questions were answered well. All in all it was a very positive experience.

Every employee from Jewell to Dr. Beach (and students and trainees in between) are polite, patient, courteous and empathetic. But... staying in touch with patients who are waiting for ordered items was non-existent. After a great work-up, I was told the new aid would be ordered and arrive in 1-2 wks. I called once every 2 wks. to inquire the status. I never had a return call for 2 MONTHS! Finally recd an appt. during my 5th call and was well taken care of. But, how long had the aid been in? How long had they waited for calibration update? Why couldnt I be notified periodically that they were short-staffed and hadnt forgotten me?

I highly recommend the Heuser Hearing Institute. I am particularly impressed with the services provided by Mrs. Barbara Martin, therapist. Mrs. Martin is the assigned therapist for a member of my family. I have met Mrs. Martin on two occassions. She is a compassionate, caring provider. She has gone over and beyond in her support of my family member. This family member has seen different therapists over the years but did not follow through with therapy. My family member has an excellent relationship with Mrs. Martin and looks forward to sessions with her. Mrs. Martin is a gifted professional. The Heuser Institute is fortunate to have her on staff..

My last biennial consultation was on August 4, 2020. I was generally pleased with the service of testing me and cleaning and conditioning my aids. Its a small thing, but since that visit the sound quality coming through the aides is not as high quality as before. Its more variable and has a more metalic tone to than before the appointment. It might have something to do with the larger size of the hearing aid plastic bells that go into the inner ear. They are also less comfortable to wear and more difficult to keep in place.Just a theory. See you in six months or so. Thanks.

Heuser Hearing Institute has been a phenomenal blessing for me!They have helped me more with diagnosis of sudden hearing loss and vertigo attacks, treatments, counseling, etc in 6 months of seeing their team of professionals and staff; then me seeing several different ENTs in the past 5 years!I had always considered myself deaf in my left ear. And With a sudden unexplained severe hearing loss in my right ear, I was struggling to cope with everyday people, life, etc. HHI determined that my left ear could be fitted with a hearing aid too! I couldn’t believe it!HHI has performed various hearing tests, vertigo tests, etc, and now have diagnosed my vertigo type, causes, treatments and etc. HHI helped me get the proper hearing aids ordered for me. HHI even let me use β€œloaner” hearing aids for almost 2 months, while we were waiting for my hearing aids to come in.I can’t even begin to thank everyone at HHI for all of their help, support they have given me!They have been such a blessing!! Love everyone!THANK YOU HHI!!!Forever grateful

I had very severe Vertigo and the staff and doctors were absolutely amazing. After a few weeks of treatments I could finally walk in to the office on my own and the staff literally clapped for me. They showed such compassion and real joy to see me feeling better. I have and will continue to recommend the Heuser Hearing Institute to family and friends.

Employees on the phone are nice and apparently genuine except the African american lady office manager who was laughing and condescending. They got me in to see them quickly but couldn’t help me. i had to go to my regular health care provider after going to them. i called and complained speaking to the head doctor, who said she would review my records as a courtesy. i didn’t. it took a year to get a bill from them for my one and only visit. then they left off where i made my co-payment at time of visit and what it was applied to. hmmmm......they said my co-payment went to the β€œnew patient account”. my insurance company feels they should have included that charge in the claim. i feel they hustled me and probably others too. i complained to office that no one answers their accounts receivables number on the statement. Linda in their office explained that insurance never pays for that particular charge so they leave it off and addition to the new patient account, it was for the consultation. they charged my insurance for this already. they were supposed to mail me a more detailed statement including what my co-payment went to. Be very skeptical of this place. i couldn’t get help i needed and they hustle for extra money.

I had lost about 20% of my hearing and it was beginning to cause me problems at work so I decided to go ahead and invest in hearing aids. My audiologist was very kind and very attentive and help guide my choice on the right technology for me. Despite a temporary problem with filing the medical claim with my insurance company, the whole experience was very pleasant and they were very helpful. Their front desk and billing staff could use more training but they had several new people at the time who were learning on the job. I cant fault anyone for being new.

So far so good. Husbands hearing was tested and hearing aides were recommended. I told the audiologist that he had had them before and stopped wearing them; and I fear he would not wear the new ones. He listened and recommended the lower to middle-range hearing aides plus he gave us a 45-day trial period to return if they didnt works out and/or change them.

Potential Customers Beware. Heuser Hearing is refusing to refund our money. We went to them because they are in network with our insurance company Anthem. They told us that we had to pay 3100.00 when we picked up our hearing aids. We got our EOB from our insurance company stating that we should have only paid 512.25 . I contacted Heuser and talked to Sandy in billing and she said your not getting a refund it doesnt matter what your insurance says. Anthem has tried to help to get this resolved but phone calls are being ignored. Sandy and Tiffany the office manager has both said your not getting no refund. I have asked to talk to someone higher up. Using a doctor in network you recieve discount. I have never had this problem with any other provider. Please look at your paperwork from your insurance company. Makes you wonder how many other people have they done this too.

While we were stationed in KY I was seen and ordered new hearing aids through HH. I enjoyed the staff here. The billing department is however, lacking. I have been back and forth with them since October 2018. With my insurance, they have agreed to accept whatever my insurance pays. However, they have repeatedly sent me a bill for nearly $500. I called my insurance and I sent them a letter with my EOB and still I got another bil from them. My insurance was sending them a letter reminding them of their contract. Then I got a call from their billing office stating that instead of the previous balance, I now owe $300+. I am sure the insurance letter hasnt reached them yet, so I informed this lady from billing again that I dont owe anything. She says she will call my insurance and look into it and call me back. She called today and sure enough, I dont owe anything! I asked that they please watch and make sure other patients are not being taken advantage of like this. I realize with different insurances and all it is hard to keep up with everything. Please if you use them, know your benefits so that they dont take advantage of you or you pay when you really dont have to.

Awesome caring staff. Very helpful. Answer every question i had. They staff were very caring witb my daughter. Even though she hates being fitted for hearing aides they dealth with her in a caring manner. The doctor even allowed my wife to ask questions via a cell phone call. They took their time and never made me feel rushed in this process.
