We had a lighting strike at our house and run a home based business. We called these guys and urgently needed all our computers diagnosed and repaired. These guys diagnosed and did a full rebuild in just over a day, I then had some issues with other equipment and they helped me troubleshoot over the weekend to get me up and running. These guys are more than willing to go the extra mile and will absolutely be my go to in the future.

I tried to fix my computer by myself and made it worse. I took it in here and could immediately tell they knew exactly what they were doing (they asked all the right questions). They kept me updated on the status regularly, were super friendly, and my computer is working perfectly since I got it back.

My young children accidently spilled water on my Lenovo laptop while it was ON and I discovered the spill 10 minutes later. I dried it off, waited 48 hours and it would not work. I took it to the Madison Geeks Group and Andy met me at my vehicle. I was charged a $50 diagnostic fee at drop off and a few days later I was told my laptop needed an ultra sonic cleaning of the motherboard and lodgic boards and that after reassembly and testing, IT WORKED!! For another $47.46, my laptop is back to working order and nothing was lost! I am so grateful!

I first contacted Madison Geeks after an extended period of kicking the tires on building a gaming PC. Due to the shortage on GPUs, I decided I wanted to build one with internal graphics, and then deal with that at a later time if I found getting one to be necessary. Id reached out to many different companies after deciding this, whose responses ranged from dismissive to nonexistent, and thus the process had become extremely frustrating for me. I was getting to the point where I was about to just give in and buy a prebuilt one off Craigslist when I stumbled across an ad for Madison Geeks.Their customer service and professionalism was a breath of fresh air. I talked with Andy for a bit laying out what it is I was looking to do, who then informed me hed pass me along to one of their builders, who ended up being Tony. After briefly talking to him, he confirmed theyd be able to build exactly what I wanted, and gave a list of parts for me to order that matched what I needed my rig to be. Once the parts had come in and I dropped them off, the actual build process took a matter of hours, and just like that, I was set. My computer is exactly what I wanted and Im beyond happy with it.Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional, and they never once made me feel dumb for asking admittedly basic questions. I cant recommend Madison Geeks Group highly enough, whether youre an amateur looking for their first computer like I was, or someone looking to upgrade.

Great staff! They listened to my needs for a new computer and created a build within my budget. They kept in communication and answered all my questions. The day I picked it up I realized I was missing a cord, and didnt have the correct cord for my monitor (Im not always technologically brilliant). Even though it was after business hours they helped me tremendously and got me everything I needed that evening. I love my new computer and will definitely go back when it is time for an upgrade!

I have worked with Madison Geeks for a few years now. Tech Mathew was wonderful! Madison Geeks transferred my old data and email to a new computer. After getting home I had some trouble with my email. I stopped back in with my computer without an appointment. Mathew immediately came out from the back and took the time to listen to my concerns. He immediately started working on my lap top transferring files I needed transferred. It was not an easy task but Mathew never quit until it was done. His computer expertise was impressive. Mathew was very knowledgeable, helpful and quick to get things back up and running how I needed. I know I was interrupting his day but he never made me feel like I was an annoyance. He took all the time he needed to make me happy. In a society were customer service is basically non existent, Mathew restored my faith. Thank goodness for Mathew! Had an excellent experience working with them. Took in my laptop after I spilled a Sprite/gin mixture on it. I had taken off the keys to clean with alcohol but nothing else. They immediately took the battery out and let it dry for a couple days before taking it out and finishing cleaning it up. Its working just as it did before! They have incredibly reasonable prices - just their diagnosis price is half the cost of other places I priced and have been to in Madison, and I was pleasantly surprised by that. The individuals who work there are very personable and courteous, so it was a joy to get to speak with them face to face. I will definitely be returning here with any future issues.

Ive never had any problems with Madison Geeks. Ive been using there reliable and affordable services since April 2007. The staff is knowledge and helpful. This is the only affordable place to go in Madison. You can try other companies in Madison, but you will be paying much more. Not sure why people have to hate on Madison Geeks and give them a bad review. This company is the best in Madison. I highly recommend this place to my co-workers,family and friends.

Prompt, friendly, quality service and flexible payment options.The day my computer crashed, I was behind on work, needing to pay a few bills online, and really wanting to work off the stress with a good Netflix marathon. Alas, none of this was possible without my laptop.I had never been to Madison Geeks before, but when I walked in the door I was greeted by a three-legged cat and excellent customer service. My laptop was returned in tip-top shape, earlier than expected.

I drove to their location in Madison to discuss building a custom computer. After a short wait I was told they would put me in the system, but that they preferred to plan these things over e-mail. I was then sent home with an e-mail address to which I was told to send my preferred computer specification. As I was asked I sent them an e-mail with the parts I was thinking about purchasing and that is where our communication ended. They never responded with an e-mail or call. It felt like they sent me away from the shop only so that they could politely ignore my business more comfortably. They werent rude and it didnt cost me anything so Im giving them two stars.There are other experiences similar to mine on Yelp.EDIT: After I posted this review I was contacted by the owner. I was informed that despite being given an e-mail, I was supposed to use their ticketing system to submit my specifications. As an apology he offered to help me build my computer for free. Unfortunately, I had already moved forward with them after not getting a response, but I am pleased that they contacted me and offered to remedy the situation.

I asked Madison Geeks Inc. to custom build me an Asus Laptop over the summer and I could not be more happier with the end result. There was a little bit of a delay as to when the laptop would be ready, but they made up for the extended wait by adding a touch screen to the laptop at no additional cost. High quality service at a reasonable price is hard to come by and the guys at Madison Geeks went beyond expectations. If you need your device fixed or if youre looking into getting a custom built laptop, Madison Geeks is the way to go.

Windows decided to automatically attempt to update our server from Windows 7 to 10. Attempt is the accurate term. The mess it created was amazingly frustrating. I took the machine to them and Matt was the Tech that worked on it. Matt was excellent to work with, solved the issue, and was able to recover files we had not backed up properly. ( a mistake we will not be repeating) He certainly knows what he is doing and is as honest as the day is long.

After reading some of the scathing reviews, I was a bit hesitant to bring my computer there . The folks at Madison Geeks were wonderful, answered my questions,made suggestions. They paid attention to my concerns,and created a computer for me that was even easier to use than my old one.They told me that my new computer would be ready by Thanksgiving.They truly are very prompt ..especially since I placed the order for the new computer the previous Thursday. They are also available to do remote assistance if needed , another plus in their favor. I would very strongly recommend Madison Geeks to anyone who wants positive and prompt attention.

Friendly, Honest, and respectful service. I called looking to find out if my damaged laptop was worth fixing,( and it was, paid $100 less than what Best Buy quoted me) because I knew from previous experience they would be honest with me about it. They told me I could still bring it in that same day, even though they were about to be closing. They had the hard drive replaced and anything salvageable already saved on the laptop within a few days (2, if you dont count the weekend) and called with friendly updates. Did I mention they even installed OfficeLibre?! (basically Microsoft word, without paying for the product key). They were quick, they were friendly, and most importantly they were honest working geeks.

I came to Madison Geeks with an unusual problem: an older large-format scanner (Epson 1640XL) that needed the glass replaced because of a scratch. Apparently 10+ hours went into my repairs: acquiring the glass, replacing it, and making sure the whole unit was again working properly. Still, they only charged me the amount I was originally quoted (which I could actually afford, unlike an Epson certified repair center!). Besides that, everyone I met was a pleasure to deal with! I highly recommend Madison Geeks and can vouch for their abilities, no matter how unconventional your repair needs!

After a bad experience online with scammers and some not so helpful interactions with other places in Madison, I called Madison Geeks for help with my laptop (which by then I was convinced was jinxed or somehow tainted before It ever reached my hands). ATT connected me to the internet and made spaghetti of all my programs, contacts, etc. Im working on a novel, a beautiful roast; the last thing I needed was an oven clogged with spaghetti. Madison Geeks did a superb job of cleaning up everything, and since then Ive worked on my manuscript free of problems. I loved the service! The staff is attentive, friendly, and honest. They charged me far less than I thought they would. You cant possibly go wrong with them.

Panicked I called and they took me right into have it repaired. Had a number of virus packets that were seriously slowing my machine down and then had pop up windows. Panicked because I had Malware and Spyware as well as my virus package.Fixed in less than 3 hours. Went in about a week ago to diagnose a problem with a custom built PC. The issue didnt really require much work, but they were able to quickly diagnose the problem and give me a few cable management tips without charging. Seemed on top of their game.

This team is knowledgeable, professional and quick to respond when you need them.

They told me I needed a new hard drive and wanted me to spend more than $500. I got a second opinion and the problem was not the hard drive at all. It was just malware. When I let them know, they tried to talk their way out of it but their argument does not make sense. Dont trust these people.

Madison Geeks are the only computer support team I will use. K.C., the Tech Manager, was so very patient with me, answering all my questions and solving the problems I had with my pc. As far as Im concerned, no one is better, and as long as I own a computer, Madison Geeks will be my contact.

Its been two weeks since I dropped off my computer for the second time - to fix something that wasnt broken the first time I left it with Madison Geeks, but was when I picked it up.2 weeks;7 calls to the geeks, checking on my computer;5 promises to call me back with updates;2 promises to call me back at a specific time, whether they had an update or not;0 calls from the geeks.At this point I dont even care if they manage to fix it. The complete inability to return a phone call is beyond ridiculous.

I brought my PC in because it was inconsistently failing to start. I was told a diagnostic could be done while I was running errands for $40. The place just down the street quoted me 2-3 days and 1.5x that much.The staff kept me informed about what was going on, and ended up having to test every piece of hardware in my pc across multiple PCs. I ended up picking it up the next day after work, being constantly updated as to what was going on. I expected to be charged more (because it was a ton of work) but was simply handed my pc and the broken part without issue. I tried (aggressively) to tip and was denied.Now I play pc games with some of the staff. Would have broken PC again. Great place.

The first time I had a chance to buy something from Madison Geeks was back in December 2012.A bit about my background. I have worked as a Software Developer for couple years now and was new in town back in fall of 2012. If someone claims to be a geek, I consider myself well qualified to evaluate their claim.So, I was new in town and was looking to build myself a Gaming PC (read: a high-end system thats a beast in raw computational power as well). I had been doing my own research and was pretty sure about what I wanted in terms of components. But since this wasnt a cheap DIY project that I was trying to complete, I wanted the parts to be put together by people that could claim: This aint my first rodeo.Lee (the tech that handles higher end systems) was very knowledgeable about his stuff. So was Kahlal. They were able to verify facts that I had earlier researched.I wanted to be included in the process and Kahlal offered me to actually come and look at the new shinning black CM HAF 912mid - tower case the rig was put together.The parts were put in the most professional way with zero protruding wires and clean internal layout to facilitate maximum air flow. And they only charged me 1.5 hours labour even though It is pretty standard to charge two or more hours for such services.Since I was new in town, I didnt have a mode of transportation yet. Not only did I receive everything assembled in time, Kahlal offered me to personally drop me at my place. They did not just sell me a Gaming Tower, they earned my business. Ive been their customer ever since.Fast forward a couple years, I was trying to buy a new Dell Ultrabook since two weeks now and their expertise with being able to get the best deal proved invaluable again. But for the sake of brevity, thats a story for some other time.On a scale of A+ to F, They have a BBB rating of A+. That speaks volumes about their attention to detail and quality of service.

I had come to Madison geeks with what I thought was the straight forward task of retrieving saved game files from a hard drive that could no longer boot windows.Two out of three appointments I made to drop off my computer, they forgot and left me outside knocking on their door.They have frequently failed to respond to email after multiple requests for a response (I still havent gotten a response from my last 3 or 4 emails). They have sent new email notifications about communication that was weeks old.They had me come in to pick up my computer, only to not actually have completed any of the work.After purchasing a new hard drive from Madison Geeks with a new copy of windows they did not enter the product key for windows authentication necessitating still more emails and communication which required repeated follow up to elicit a response.The actual data recovery itself did not work, somehow retrieving only saved games that were over a month old (possibly not their fault).At the end of the day, every almost every interaction I had with the company was deeply frustrating or disappointing.I did receive partial compensation for my trouble, but this was mainly because they thought that I had already paid for some of their services.

Madison Geeks came through for me when I was faced with no computer to work on through the weekend. All my work for clients is on my computer and with all my deadlines, I was in a panic without access to my files. Jones came to my office within an hour and had me up and running in an hour and a half. Very knowledgeable and helpful. THANKS!!!
