5/22- My husband & I took the knife skills class at the Madison location. This was our first visit to Sur La Table - we LOVED it! The store has a great stock and selection of everything you could desire! The class was awesome! Chef Adam did great demonstrating and explaining. Masks are enforced with the overall environment very clean & comfortable!

Hubs and I could spend forever in here. Love this shop! Found the perfect ravioli press here. Staff was helpful! We are looking forward to trying some of their cooking classes in the future.

I was given this very nice grilling pan for my birthday in July and the very first time I used it the pan split in half spilling grease all over. Very dangerous and someone could have been really hurt. I went into the store with the pan and showed the failure of workmanship and they refused to replace it without a receipt. The pan says the store’s brand on it and yet they don’t back their workmanship? I believe this is the reason you would buy from a store of this caliber because they would stand behind their products they make. Not sure I would shop here because they can’t even back the products they make.

I purchased a $50 online gift card for my mom for Christmas. She orderd a knife set from the website, received a purchase order ... due to covid it took a while for updates and then eventually the cancelled the order but did not receive refund the money. When she contact customer support and they said they couldn’t help her.To be frankly honest that is stealing.Do not order from their website!!!!!

I was interested in buying an espresso maker. I waited politely and stood by the espresso makers for more than 10 minutes while the salesperson was making coffee and giving restaurant recommendations as people walked up. I suggest that your salespeople at least acknowledge your customers. Really, no response? I changed my rating to a 1 star now!

Nice, welcoming store! The layout is simple and easy to navigate, and the products are top-notch. The only thing holding me back from giving this a full 5-stars is the fact that while we were browsing, we were asked seven (7!) times by employees if we needed help. We were only in the store about fifteen minutes. Employees would interrupt my partner and I mid-sentence to ask if we had questions or needed help. We just wanted to find a gift for somebody, and we made it fairly clear that we were fine, just browsing, didnt need any help. Im not sure if the employees were just bored, or if we didnt look like the typical customer base, but it felt a bit invasive. That being said, Im more than willing to go back - after all, the store itself is quite lovely!

Called to find a class for my family and 3 year old. The young gentleman that answered the phone told me my daughter was too young to be in a kids baking class with 2 parents. He told me 7 years and older because it will be hard to cook and not have a partner. Totally disappointed and I will go to another location that is welcoming to young kiddos.

I ordered 2 Staub pans online on 4/30/20. I knew the shipment would be slightly delayed due to COVID and the limited resources. I didnt get a shipment notification or tracking details. The pans showed up at my house on 5/7/20 and when I opened the boxes I discovered the lids were missing on both pans. I called immediately and sat on hold for 30 minutes. Long story short, I have been trying to obtain the lids to the pans for almost a month! Ive called multiple times and even asked to talk to a manager, who has yet to call me back after I got pushed to voicemail. Sur la Table keeps blaming Staub and basically will do NOTHING to follow up with Staub. Sur la Table has decided to charge me the full price for both pans with no ability to get the lids and no guarantee that if I return the current ones and try to get replacements that I will receive the lids. I have NEVER experienced such horrible customer service or such unprofessional behavior with the constant finger pointing at Staub and the unwillingness to solve the problem for the customer. Ultimately if Sur la Table decides to allow the manufacturer to drop ship on their behalf, it doesnt relieve them of their responsibility to ensure the orders are fulfilled and accurate. I am so disappointed and will not be purchasing from Sur la Table in the future.

I hosted a private event for a bachelorette party in December of 2018. Chef Adam was very accommodating and great to work with, and the food was delicious! We even got to take the leftovers home. Would recommend!

Really like this store. The things they sell are really high quality and all of the staff is super helpful in finding what you need. They also do cooking classes and demonstrations and its really fun, if youre ever in the area and looking for something like that you should definitely check it out.

I know is it expensive but trust me the level of service you receive from each sales associate, and the managers, is exceptional. They are always willing to help and I love the hands on purchasing experience (trying knives, testing machines, etc.) without the pressure to buy that you get from other stores. Yes you may be able to save a few bucks buying online or somewhere else but nothing beats good costumer service and knowing that they will stand behind every product you buy.

Went there with my sister for a mortar and pestle to crush pills for my father in his end of days. It was around 6 pm during Xmas shopping prime time and the store had no shoppers…no wonder why no shoppers now I can tell why.An employee (by the name of Aaron) was at the top of a ladder started talking in a very disrespectful tone and nasty belligerent inflection.I asked him why is he talking in such a manner. He went berserk and started yelling at us and told us “I can talk the way I want in my store and told us to get out of his store”. Then he said he is calling security which he did but anyways we were stepping outside. I asked him to speak to the manager and he replied that “I am the manager”.The only thing I can think about that triggered such an attitude is prejudice since he listened to us talking with accent while checking the item.So if you are person of color, Asian, Latino, or got foreign accent avoid this place.It appears that Sur La Table doesn’t do due diligence screening who they hire.Never again. A horrible humiliating experience.UPDATE: Over 2 weeks have passed since this racist incident and Sur La Table still haven’t contacted me. Right after the incident that night immediately I called Sur La Table customer service and waited for almost an hour for a representative to answer. The representative took the details of the incident and my information too. She said I will get a follow up call in 2-3 days. Sur La Table didn’t call and now it’s over 2 weeks.Now we can tell that this company is careless about its customers and it’s customer service is mediocre.Update: A month have passed since I lodged a complaint. I have not heard back from Sur La Table. This corporation is unethical and cares less about discrimination at their stores.Update: On 01/31/20 I decided to call SLT again and inquire how come no body responded. The customer service person ( Sarah Queen) found my complaint on their system and promised to get back to me since this incident sounded so horrible and awkward that SLT had overlooked the arbitrary unprofessional behavior of The manager Aaron. After 2 weeks of my telephone conversation I decided to email Sarah on her SLT email she provided me - as she encouraged me to do so- to let her know that I haven’t heard from SLT. She never responded.

Store does not take back its own branded products for being defective after 60 day return period. The majority of competitors in this price range will take back defective products shortly after the end of their return periods.

For $65 a meal (nearly $400 for our party) we got an okay meal and the person leading the event was a jerk. Won’t be going back and not worth it in my opinion.
