Online and Zoom classes have been so helpful during these past few weeks! Childrens Ballet Theater teachers quickly and creatively found ways to keep dancers in shape, connected, and performance ready. Thank you Mary, Nora, Alyssa, Erin and all CBT teachers and Tennessee Ballet Theater members for keeping dancers engaged in a meaningful way!

My daughter began ballet class with Childrens Ballet Theater as a first grader. She is now in high school and continues to dance with Childrens Ballet Theater! Weve watched her grown into a confident, strong, disciplined young woman. I truly believe that her ballet training with Childrens Ballet Theater has had a huge impact on her young life. Childrens Ballet Theater instructors are remarkable women and men who encourage children and youth to excel at dance and dance to the best of their ability. The instructors and director make a point to showcase an individual dancers strongest ability while teaching the class to work together as a whole and rely on each other as a team. I will be forever grateful to Childrens Ballet Theater for my daughters experience and the confidence that she has gained, not only as a dancer but also confidence in herself.

My daughter loved it

My daughter has taken from Mrs. Anna for two years at Christ Methodist Day School and simply adores her. She teaches the basics of Ballet with ease and maintains a fun and encouraging atmosphere. The class learns dance movement, body awareness and posture, stage presence, and how to follow instructions individually and as a group. My daughter has completely fallen in love with dance and music because of Mrs. Anna! She reinforces a job well done and has patience when a student struggles. Despite the class being taught as a group, she works with each child individually on posture and form. She works hard to inform the parents of what needs to be worked on, future practices and performances. Performances are always special with Mrs. Anna because of her attention to details such as formal performance cards and photos. We appreciate her hard work and Mrs. Mary Van Dyke’s hard work as well. When I had to make a schedule change, Mrs. Van Dyke took care of it with ease. She is friendly, easy to work with, and keeps up with each child’s progress! I cannot think of a better place for my child to grow, learn and express herself through dance!

My daughter began taking ballet at age 3 from Childrens Ballet.12 yrs later, she is performing on stage with the theater.Mary and her staff are a step above the rest in Memphis.I recommend ALL my friends to her studio.Small groups and caring, individual attention are their focus.You just cant find better, more talented people.The Summer theater camps include EVERYONE in the big performance.Your child will learn EXACTLY what to do on stage and behind the scenes.Please come to one of their performances.You wont be disappointed!!

My daughter has has finally found a ballet home! Mary is an incredible leader and we are thrilled to have Kelby as our instructor!This years Nutcracker performance was truly an amazing performance that reminded me of my days as a child watching the Atlanta Ballet perform at The Fox Theater.My family is looking forward to many years to come with CBT!

My daughter loves CBT. She began dance at an early age with Mary and we have never been disappointed! Mary has such a wonderful way of teaching ballet and her love of dance is shown through how well trained and wonderful her dancers are. Her instructors share her love of dance and they are also wonderful with the kids. As a teen my daughter still looks forward to going to her classes several times per week and has always enjoyed learning what Mary and her instructors have to teach them. They are highly skilled and teach the children proper technique, while also having fun. Their recitals are fabulous and you can see the hard work they all put in when you see their perfection on stage.

Such a wonderful ballet company. Professional and talented instructors, and beautiful productions in the great Russian tradition. My children and I have all taken classes with them and danced with them, and I have always been impressed with the dedication of everyone involved from the teachers to the support staff to the director. Highly recommend!!!

I was amazed at the level of knowledge and expertise that all of the teachers displayed! This city is lucky to have such talent and the children are definitely establishing a solid foundation in Ballet.

My daughter has been going to Childrens Ballet Theater for over 5 years and has participated in everything from Ballet to Musical Theater. Mary and her staff are magical and encourage these children to dance, sing and perform on stage in front of an audience -- thats HUGE for a CHILD. They encouraged with love and support and she has had lead roles such as Willie Wonka, Reverend Mother in Sound of Music, and Annie. ALL of which have solos. ALL of which have made her nervous because of the pressure. She has nailed her performances EVERYTIME!

My daughter just started with the summer classes and we both love it, Alyssa is a wonderful dance instructor, thanks so much, looking forward to classes in the fall.
