I would like to start off to say that I have a consummate deference for this school. I moved to Memphis in 6th grade and my parents were looking for a school so I came to St. Louis .To be veracious my 6th grade teachers were pretty nice and I believe were good teachers. Lamentably this wasn’t the case in my 7th grade year. To start not all the teachers were bad. It was just some that didn’t know how to control a classroom and it always ended up being a rambunctious room full of kids and no education . I won’t take away the fact that I had many great fun memories at sls, and I am sure the faculty want what’s genuinely best for the kids. But when it comes to the core learning part of sls unfortunately in my opinion it lacked. Take my opinion for what it’s worth.

St. Louis is such a special place. I truly believe it is a hidden gem within our city. If you came to take a tour, you would be pleasantly surprised by what you experience. My son and daughter love going to school, and have for the last 4 years. They are not just growing academically, but also growing in their Catholic faith. It is one of the more affordable Catholic schools in town, with teachers who are passionate about serving children, and leadership who continually strive to make the school better. Families are very involved at the school and it is encouraged. There are focuses on STEM, collaborative learning environments (internally with one another and externally through the Distance Learning Center), care for the whole child (guidance counseling programs, faith formation), and individualized learning programs to meet the needs of kids learning at different paces. I love how our school embraces new families and cares for families and others in the community when they are going through hardships. It is a great place!

Please treat the boys here like they are boys, and not like they have to act like something they cant possibly act like. Boys are supose to have different treatment than girls and vice-versa. Overall, Im glad I went to this school had a lot of fun, but do keep in mind as boys our brains are chemically wired differently than that of girls so treat them at this school like so.

Our son just graduated from 8th grade at St. Louis School. He was there from 5th-8th. He loved it and so did we. Warm, welcoming environment that makes learning fun. The school offers different learning levels so each student learns at his/her own pace. The faculty and staff are professional but make learning fun. Assistant principal Vicki Shaw is such an asset to the school. She cares so much for each student...all their needs not just academic. To quote my son after graduation...”thank you for switching me to St. Louis. I loved going there and wish you sent me sooner.”

Three boys. My two oldest went K through 8. My youngest went K through 4. We left, or were forced to leave and now my youngest is at SFA. If I had known that all schools weren’t like SLS, I would have pulled my other two. They don’t know how to treat boys. I have heard 1st hand that nothing has changed in the 2 yrs we have been gone. The principal, for lack of better words, is a bully and a liar. And I mean a bully to a nine year old. I could go on but the short of it is the school needs to get rid of the principal and some teachers. Oh, and 8th grade boys are totally unprepared for high school. It is just a really BAD school.
