When you speak of blessings, this is what STAR Academy is. When STAR hired me seven years ago, it changed my life for the greater good. While serving here at STAR, I have been inspired to follow my dreams and become a teacher. Thats what STAR provides for any and everyone who walks through the doors.....inspiration and hope.Throughout the years, STAR has served not only as an educational incubator, but also one who provides emotional support for its scholars as well. STAR acknowledges that in order to expect success from scholars academically, a culture must be established where students feel safe and comfortable in their learning environments. STAR provides this!STAR not only facilitates in developing and producing well-rounded scholars, but staff as well. Here teachers are always motivated and willing to learn new and innovative teaching practices, and make sure that they are the best versions of themselves for their students. Here, its important that we are in constant communication with our families. Everyone here at STAR, including the administration, office staff, teachers, learning specialists, students, and building engineers are treated like family. We all share one thing in common, our love for STAR!Another great thing about STAR is community service. Here at STAR, helping the community and families in need, is a common practice. STAR believes in and is a true visionary in the importance of giving back.With STAR having such a small population, this is beneficial for scholars and staff. Having small numbers of scholars in the classroom, helps with teachers not feeling overwhelmed, and the scholars feeling invisible. Teachers are able to make personal connections with their students. Classroom settings are more stable and manageable, and teachers are able to better assist their scholars with their learning needs. These things are very important and essential when it comes to developing and producing well-rounded children.Here at STAR our scholars are taught to embody the true meaning of our mascots, STAR Eagles. Our scholars are taught to soar high like eagles and shine bright like the stars they are! Every child has the potential to learn, as well as have the right to an excellent education. STAR provides this.Overall, STAR is a wonderful place for children to learn. It has created many memorable and learning experiences and opportunities that you will NOT find anywhere else. STAR truly is a blessing, as it is also ONE OF A KIND!!!

As an Educator for eleven years, STAR Academy has been the only school I’ve taught at during my career. There are so many words, phrases, and sentences, I can use to describe STAR. STAR Academy is not your typical or average school! STAR Academy is a school that will go above and beyond to meet the whole need of the family, not just the need of the scholars enrolled. STAR light shines bright in my eyes and warms my heart!!!

The administration, faculty, and staff deeply care about the students and families, and it shows up in everything they do. STAR Academy Charter School has been the Family Tradition School for my children. In 2004, the Inaugural year of STAR Academy Charter School, my daughter began her Kindergarten journey. I placed total trust in the founder, Bishop Ed Stephens Vision of the school. The choosing ofBoard Members that made adequate decisions concerning school issues, especially when hiring Leaders and Teachers. My daughter completed her Kindergarten through Fifth Grade years. I was, so pleased, with the great academic progress she received from STAR. It helped her successfully through Middle School, High School, and other life endeavors. I love so much what STAR Academy Charter School had done for my daughter, that in 2012, I enrolled my son. He completed Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Now, he has transitioned to Middle School with excellent conduct, great academics, and is a member of the Beta Club. Now that my daughter has a son, in 2025, he will be enrolling in Kindergarten at STAR Academy Charter School. My son has been a part of the Star Academy family since the first grade! He is a part of the Star Academy Eagles basketball team, and has grown so much as young man. I appreciate that the staff knows my son and every student by name and students aren’t just a number. We are in a difficult time due to events that have changed life as we know it, but Star Academy has done and awesome job with continuous learning. The faculty has gone above and beyond to make sure parents are well informed of any changes during this difficult time. Hats off to the Star Academy team for all of your hard work inside and outside of the classroom! I registered my son at the and two days before school started they stated to me that he could not attend the school due to the fourth grade not having space. This was a major inconvenience seriously especially once i fully registered him. Also the coordinator for the school was not barely answering the phone trying resolve the issue i was having as well....
