I was there from 2006-2011. I was there from kindergarten to fifth grade.I made a lot of amazing friends, and I also had a lot of awesome teachers. Most of those awesome teachers are still there today. If I had a child I would send them to downtown elementary.

I use to go to this amazing school but. 😍💓💞 we moved to ga, Ill name all my teachers Mrs Maggie,mrsfearster🙄but Mrs Feaster was also ways mean to me and Mrs Campbell I miss her and Mrs Hayes my 3rd grade teacher I wish could stay there to finish it all but over all this school is amazing

My review isnt for the whole school because there are good teacher it is for my daughters second grade teach Mrs Campbell and the principal Mrs Martin. Her teacher has had this grudge against her this entire year for some odd reason nitpicked with her about everything caused her to urinate on herself 3 times all which Ive requested a meeting with teacher and principal and was never set up after all that I dealt with from her teacher throughout the year now at the end of the school year program every child in the school walked across the stage except for my daughter which was extremely embarrassing I set there that whole time waiting for my daughter to come across the stage and she was no where to be found then to find out she was hidden in the back when asked why didnt she walk her teacher told me she didnt deserve too! What kind of evil person would stoop so low to pick on a second grade child to that level! Even during the fact of me not wanting to get her anything for teachers appreciation week my daughter still went and picked her out a treat bag and still being such a bitter woman decided to do another lowdown act!! And the principal still has not made an attempt to contact me or the MCS Superintendent! Everything that happens at that school they hide it!

All the teachers are very kind and caring and the school is always clean looking nice.

The teachers are TOO strict and the kids love to argue with other kids. I suggest you dont go therw

I had a horrible experience at Downtown Elementary. My girls were constantly bullied and no one wanted to address the problem nor me. It’s extremely hard to speak with the teachers. The principal is is rude. My number one problem was, I felt that they didn’t really care if the child was learning, their main focus was numbers. I wouldn’t recommend no one sends their child to Downtown Elementary

If you want to put your child in the best safe school I picked this one.

BEST SCHOOL EVER FROM PRE-K TO 5TH GRADE IT WAS THE BEST SCHOOL YEARS I EVER HAD!!!!!😘😭

Its a clean and well lighted place. Both my children attended pre-k CLUE there and my oldest went to kindergarten with Mr Bryant as his teacher. My only problem with DTE is that it isnt our neighborhood school. If we lived in Uptown or Downtown or near enough to walk/bike, both our boys would still be attending. Great principal, great staff, great teachers, parental involvement, award winning academics - this elementary school has it all. Its was shining star of MCS and SCS is lucky to have it now that the two systems have merged.
