I am a 2014 graduate of Hamilton high school and Im proud to say i enjoyed my four years there.....YES !! Its a great school with a good academic program also good extra curricular activities.

If youre a person born and raised in Memphis, its whatever. If not, this school sucks hard. The teachers are phenomenal (at least the one who care) and the administration is doing really well rebuilding the schools reputation. But the student body makes me want to drown myself in the Mississippi River. A good 90% of the school either doesnt want to learn or is too afraid to try to learn. If youre like me and moved from out of state, youll definitely get checked (roasted) or become the center of unwanted or potentially character destroying attention. Kids fight nearly once every two weeks over petty stuff and Internet squabbles. Its really depressing and pitiful. Even though there are a million gangs in South Memphis, gangbangers usually keep their business outside of school so dont worry about that. Just dont act hardcore or diss anyones flags or colors and youll be perfectly fine. I wouldnt recommend trying to start a relationship here because they either want a piece of your check, or a peice of you. Dont eat the cafeteria food. Under no circumstances. I did sophomore year and I felt like crap. Not doing that again. Social gatherings dont exist. Period. Only fun activity would be prom, but they go to the same place every year, so its not really worth it. Outside of school, dont go to any house or block parties. Stuff goes down with the massive amount of beef going on in a shotgun house.We used to have free dress on Friday, but the uncontrollable underclassmen ruined it for the whole school. Back to education, the teachers WILL help you succeed in every way possible, but sometimes the school doesnt have teachers for certain classes. When they do, its the same material in schools like Collierville High, Germantown High, or Houston High. Minus the AP/IB classes, your getting the same education. Its just the toxic student body that gives the school its -4 stars. Halfway through my junior year and ready to leave this place. California watch out, Im coming back!
