I came here for a three day professional development session, run by the Shelby County Social Studies Institute. The facilities were beautifully maintained, the classrooms clean and well-kept and the hallways immaculate. The faculty and staff of Colonial should feel proud of their facilities.

Children attended for the last 5 years and all of them loved the school. Teacher as well as staff keep parents involved that desire it. Love those calls when my son is the class clown.

Im a student about to leave Colonial, and its an okay school. Pros: There are a lot of great people there, the teachers are nice and most of them care about their students and respond to parents, and most of the time it has a great atmosphere. Cons: There are a lot of fights. A LOT. Also, some of the students behavior is questionable (Yes, I also include my own sometimes). So Colonial is a pretty good school, but you could do better. Thats just my opinion

I love this school I just graduated from the school this year and it was a really sad experience for me because at Colonial I found who I was and realized my talent the choir and dance were the best capas in my opinion we performed more around the city and everywhere else. Also the teachers were really motivating and sweet and the enviorment was really safe.I would totally recommend this school to someone is totally talented I will not forget this experience of this school ever 😀😀😀

This school is terrible as well as the staff. I just graduated from this school this year. My seventh grade year I was bullied by a teacher and the principal and assistant principal did nothing. This continued almost the whole entire year until the last week of school. The teacher seemed to receive no consequences for what he put all of his students through including me. I have lost all respect for this school and hope to never come near it again.

The students are good ,and other kids should go there as 6,7,and 8 grade

The worse I have ever had to deal with. Ms. Clark and the front office didnt do there job my daughter has been out of school all week and the school wont release her records to her new school. It shows how much the school care a out kids education once they leave colonial. The principal has yet to call me back after he took my number and promise to fix the problem on yesterday. So I took off work again to be told that ms.Clark is in a mandatory meeting but youll tell the lady from the board of education. That she is out for the day...So lie to me and my family thats not right youll pose to be professional at what youll do. Well get my daughter in school if youll care about the kids education.

I just recently graduated 8th grade from CMS and I would recommend it to any one searching for a reliable middle school for their child. They have many CAPA (Creative And Performing Arts) Programs for children to choose from such as Choir (WOOT WOOT!!!), Band, Orchestra, Piano, Drama, Art, and Creative Writing. They have many athletic opportunities too like Football, Basketball, Cheer-leading, Soccer, Swimming, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball and maybe more (I may have forgotten some). Overall I liked my experience! The people are great and so are the teachers! Some people say that Mr. Pettigrew (principle) Is a pain but i dont feel that way. Hes a great principle and he cares a lot about his students! Hope I Helped Someone With This!!!!!!~TaiJha Horton :)

I was a student there at colonial and I had this crazy teacher named Louis Howard he was a little out of his mind and sometimes he would come to school smelling like marijuana he is still a teacher up there and he is the reason why I disliked this school because he made a bad experience for me and he would yell at me for no reason.
