Compass Charter is absolutely AMAZING! Very well organised, the children are relaxed and happy. They really learn how to do important things, not just in subject areas but in character development. It is a wonderful school. SO very happy that my son found a home where he can actually learn and be challenged appropriately, and learn to be responsible, but most importantly feel happy and likes school. Our family is very lucky to be a part of Compass!

Love this school. Just be aware that this is a college prep school. Parents will need to put in some time to help their student as well. The elementary is highly structured and privileges are earned as the kids move up to junior and senior high.

Compass is a fantastic school with caring teachers and a wonderful faculty that promotes learning and self awareness. Yes, it is a strict environment, so its not for every learning type. Do your homework, but if you want that type of environment for your kids, this is the school for you. You wont be disappointed.

I enrolled my daughter into kindergarten here, and we where both very excited for the year ahead. This enthusiasm evaporated quickly as my daughter started hating school and would beg me not to make her go. This sustain for school is not like my daughter, she used to cry when the weekend came because of how much she adored school. I volunteered a few times in the class to see how things were done and I was not very impressed. The classroom itself was extremely small, and I could barely walk around. The room looked more like an old office rather then a kindergarten class, no artwork or bright colors on the walls; this carried on through the rest of the building. Im not opposed to being serious about learning but it seemed all the students did was worksheet after worksheet after worksheet, no music, no gym, no computer class, never a visit to the library. This school seems to be catered to a single learning style and the lack of hands on made this a terrible fit for my child. After 6 months of my daughter begging me to go to another school I took her out and put her in a school of the arts she is back to being very happy and Loves going to school again.Something else I didnt care for was the drop off pick up system. The parents are very rushed and they are piled into the parking lot bumper to bumper. You are looked at as a nuisance if you get out of the car to hug and kiss your child on drop off.They do tell you at the beginning that charter schools are not for everyone. A bland, uninspiring environment with no versatility to the learning styles of different children certainly is not for my family.

The school is actually a wonderful place, the teachers do help if students (like myself) are confused or just doesnt understand the concept. They work together to achieve a better goal/mindset for not only students, but themselves. They care about the students and will try to help in any way to help them progress to the next stage of education. You have access to college earlier than average school and give better opportunities. The only problem I have is that one of the adults who watch over the children is too harsh. I understand that he watches the kids so chaos wont erupt. However hes ridiculously harsh and give more consequences than the child needs. Putting that aside, this school can be a wonderful place that has people working hard. Which makes me want to accept the challenges.

This is the 2nd year for two of my kids, and it has been a great change! Weve attended other elementary schools in West Ada and have been the happiest here. The teachers are wonderful and consistent in their teaching methods, they focus a lot on charter traits and how to be a good person, and acedemically they are above the public elementary schools. The kids are expected to follow the rules and have quite a bit of work, if you or your child is not up to that challenge, it might not be the best fit. Otherwise, I highly recommend this school!

Compass bashes on other schools. Compass is too strict and they dont even follow their own rules. Dont go here. It is not a good place. The compass culture is like the government in the lego movie. They say the are a grade level ahead but there not. Compass tries to brain wash you into thinking the are such a great school. Its all fake.

Its been a great school for my kids so far. Plenty of teachers who care, safe environment, great curriculum.

Did not enjoy my time at the school what so ever. Its such a small school, kids know how to bully without teachers knowing. I had a couple teachers that I liked but beyond that I would not recommend it to anyone.

Compass charter is the dumbest school. When I shadowed at this school. All the things the teachers were saying were so confusing and dont make sense. I never saw the teachers actually explain things, all they say is here is the assignment, here is what it means, and do your homework. The two teachers I saw that I liked was Mr. Baker and Mr. Stadtlander. I wouldnt go to this school even if i was paid to.

Best school around the world, i go there it rocks to the top every one should try to go or at least look it up

Very poor communication between parents and teachers! A certain teacher would respond rudley to messages! Kids are rushed all day! More like a military boot camp! Crazy! Took my kiddos out of there!!!!!!!! Not a friendly environment at all. Be aware!

Bullying staff, my child has been threatened by faculty, crappy admin more focused on the schools future than the students. All around same as all other schools in Idaho shallow in what our kids need to learn. Compass has let us down for the last time. We have lost a couple of family members this last year and my son was punished for missing classes. What a let down these so called educators are. Lunch detention community hours and so on..more like a nazi bootcamp in my eyes. Disgusted that his excused by me days, tardies cannot even be approached by this admin to us, the parents, but go on him to make him belittled in front of his peers and made an example off.

Wonderful. Helpful Staff, Kind Teachers, Anti-Bullying environment, Strict rules.
