My now husband and I took dance lessons with Candy and we cannot thank her enough! We make a somewhat last minute decision to do a choreographed dance at our wedding and Dance FX was able to accommodate! After 11 lessons we felt great about doing a quick little dance all out together by the Dance FX team. We had 11 lessons total and it was absolutely worth and Candy was very patient with us! We will definitely be back for some more dancing soon, we had so much fun!

Sierra is awesome! I was planning a weekend night out at a country venue and I really wanted to learn the dance moves so I came across this place. In just two sessions with Sierra I was able to confidently apply everything I learned on the dance floor this past weekend and so much so that others even came up to me asking me to teach them the moves! All the staff at this studio are so friendly and kind, also patient as we learn! I started taking dance classes with Dance FX Studios about two months ago. I knew it would take a patient and caring person to be my instructor because the truth is I have little to no rhythm. For the life of me, I can’t hear the beat. And yet, almost all of my adult life I have longed to learn how to dance. How can you dance if you can’t hear the beat? Well, you have an instructor who works with you with NO judgment, with a ton of care and the ability to put you at ease in the first minute of the lesson. I’m learning the basics and am so much more confident than I have ever been on the dance floor. Sierra and her team of instructors really get it...they truly know what teaching others to dance is all about. If you take dance lessons with these folks you get so much more than a lesson about how to move your body to the music, you get a team of people who are sincerely dedicated to you and your ability to begin dancing confidently. I have no idea how the dance lessons are.i prepaid for classes and had to reschedule when I found out my brother had a brain tumor and I was needed. Tried to reschedule and was told I had to pay again because I wasted the instructors time even though I let them know ahead of time. Again, the lessons may be great. I, however, was quite unhappy with my experience.

Our instructor have been fantastic with us going from not able to dance at all, to doing a beautiful and fun dance routine for our wedding! Highly recommend there services if you have a special occasion or just want to get into dancing or just learn a line dance or 2!

We started lessons here about two months ago after first trying another chain studio. Our instructor Sierra has been amazing from the very start. She has an eye for details and a unique talent for breaking things down to help us learn and for always giving us the just right challenge during our lessons. The environment at the studio is very comfortable and welcoming and, although it will probably be awhile before we can be considered good at dancing, we really enjoy our new hobby that we share. I highly recommend you try it if you are even slightly considering it!

Having a great time learning to dance. Im a 53 year old man who never danced in my life and resisted my wifes pleas to learn. With a sons wedding coming up, I finally relented. When we came to Dance FX, we needed help. As a woman, typically when a guy wants to dance with you, he is still unsure on the floor, so we women learn to lead. So yes, I was a lead, that now had to be taught to follow (because guys, youre actually supposed to lead instead of sitting on the sidelines). As for my fiance, now husband, he wanted to be able to dance to make the night magical for us.... knowing very well that he could not dance on his best day. Dont wince! He freely admits this was the hardest thing he has ever done. But Bree and the staff at Dance FX had so much patience with us and they stood the test of time and frustrations. We cant say enough. It wasnt easy , but you should have seen his smile when we finished the dance. Standing ovation!

My wife and I first looked into Dance FX as a way to prepare for our wedding dance, and now, months after our wedding, were still coming back!We walked into our first session with basically no knowledge or training in dancing, and within just a few weeks we had (1) learned the basic steps to not one but TWO different dance styles (Foxtrot and Triple (East Coast) Swing), (2) learned a choreographed dance involving those two styles for our first dance as a married couple, and (3) felt confident and excited to be dancing in front of our loved ones instead of nervous and awkward. (Well, perhaps at least in ADDITION to awkwardness, but thats par for the course.)The instructors are patient, caring, and will meet you where you are in terms of skill. Better yet, they manage to do all this while actually improving your form, striking a fantastic balance between helpful criticism and mere platitude. Youll walk out of each session with new skills--but more importantly, with a boost to confidence and fun memories.Since completing our wedding dance lessons, my wife and I have turned our visits to Dance FX into a sort of weekly standing date, and we have begun exploring new styles such as Salsa and Bachata. Best dance studio ever! If you want to learn fun dances by highly experienced professional instructors, this is the place to come! Really nice, spacious studio, and the instructors are wonderful, patient and fun to learn from. I have taken lessons from Taloa, Sierra, Jessica and Yeh, learned salsa, two step, country swing, foxtrot, bachata, and many more fun dances. They also have socials, learn a new dance in a small group setting for a great price. Join by yourself, with a partner, and tell your friends! This has been a lifesaver for us during Covid, great form of exercise, and the studio is conscientious about sterilizing, wearing masks, and avoiding large groups. I travel from North Scottsdale to come to this studio, it is totally worth the drive from anywhere.

Sierra and Taloa are both excellent instructors. My wife and I are both historically poor dancers but they did an excellent job choreographing and teaching a dance for our first dance, and it turned out great. I have been taking dance lessons at Dance FX for several months. Taloha is an excellent instructor. She is passionate about dancing and teaches in a style that is both fun and easy to understand. My skills have improved a lot since I started and have gone from a total beginner to feeling comfortable on the dance floor. They also have regular group classes and social events. Ever since my senior prom had a live swing band, I have always wanted to learn how to swing dance. I also love my country music and wanted to pick up how to two step. New years came and I decided to add something new to my life. That was taking dance lessons for the first time. My wife and I have been receiving private instruction from here for about a year. The instructors are top notch, friendly, and provide a nice, welcoming environment for the lesson. We are learning a few different styles of dance, and while we concentrate on certain ones for a few lessons in a row, we are able to keep things fresh when we switch instructors who are more anchored in a different style.I have never considered myself much of a dancer, but being able to get out and learn with my wife has been a great experience, opening new avenues of entertainment and providing another excuse to spend some quality time. DanceFX has definitely fulfilled our expectations.

Since then we have learned to dance Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia and Merengue. Taloa and Sierra are amazing instructors with infectious love for what they do. We have never had a bad lesson and learn something new every time we go in. Taloa is always pushing us to try new combinations and tap in to our sensual side of dance, and we laugh and have a good time every lesson. Sierra has so much knowledge of dancing, I am sure shes forgotten more than we have learned. All the instructors here are always welcoming whether its your first time like us or you been into dance for awhile. We recommend DanceFx to anyone who wants to try and get into dancing. This studio is fantastic! The instructors or super helpful. I started here with no actual experience and just wanting to be able to hold my own at a country bar. less then 3 months later and Im confident leading some advanced moves too. Ive even started learning dances I never would have considered like salsa and argintine tango. I highly recommend this studio!

Katie is a fantastic teacher and is very easy to learn from. My husband and I have really enjoyed taking lessons from her and the other instructors. She has been our main teacher and we are happy with what we have learned so far!

What to say about this place... First off, the instructors, Sierra and Taloa, are absolute Rock Stars and as good as they are as instructors, they are even better people. There are certain people that you can just feel their authenticity in what they do and they both resonate with this feeling. Their adaptive teaching styles and knowledge of their craft is impressive and makes for a great learning experience. The studios mottos of Lead with Love and Follow with Faith remind us that this is all part of something larger than just dance lessons.

Very professional, instructors Taloa and Sierra are excellent teachers. A very goals based program. They instruct to your agenda not theirs and are diligent to track your progress and make sure you meet and exceed your goals.

We have been taking dance lessons with Dance FX for about a year now. When we joined last year it was with the intention of just taking a few lessons but we enjoyed our lessons so much, the owners and instructors that we just keep coming back. Their personal approach, caring attitude is what sets them apart from other dance studios. Our experience has been nothing short of great. Ive been going to Dance Fx for a couple of months now. The instructors Sierra and Taloa are wonderful! They are kind and supportive and very skilled in the dances they teach! The amount of information they can fit into a single lesson always surprises me. If your thinking about learning to dance socially Dance Fx is an amazing place to learn!

Dustin and I took lessons for our wedding. I can honestly say all the instructors we worked with were excellent. They were all knowledgeable and patient. Our dance turned out perfect. We would recommend this place.

Overall I can see the vision this dance studio has and perhaps the way I wanted to learn and the things I wanted to learn could not be taught by the instructors I had. One was too technical the other, not technical enough. I felt as though I barely learned anything from either but I did learn some that is why I am giving this place a decent rating. Overall however, these lessons are not worth 100$ an hr to me, (I rounded up) I believe I could get better lessons for a much more reasonable price. Perhaps the dance style I prefer is a little too complex to teach the way they teach all the others, that could also be why other studios dont even bother teaching hip-hop lessons. Either way, not bad by any means but certainly far from what I had hoped.

Amazing & Professional!!! Nicole, Adam and Aimee are outstanding! My fiancé (at the time) and I went to Dance FX for private lessons for our wedding. The entire Dance FX team were not only professional and courteous, but did everything possible to make learning the “first dance” while planning a wedding a very fun and non stressful event. They accommodated our personal needs while preparing us for our first dance together. My husband and I plan to attend more events and lessons and Dance FX because our dance lessons were not only fun part of a stressful event, but after we were finished we realized how much we missed the atmosphere and energy of the team and enjoyed learning how to dance.

Ive been lucky enough to be a part of the Dance FX family for the past 9 months. I started working at the front desk in May of 2011 and immediately knew that this was where I wanted to be. The studio owners, Nicole and Adam, have created an atmosphere thats not only a fun and exciting place to learn to dance, but also a great place to work (Im learning to dance a little bit too, he he). Ill be leaving the studio soon to allow myself more time at home with my family, but will definitely miss my Dance FX family. I would absolutely recommend Dance FX to anyone wanting to learn to dance. Whether you want to pick up a skill that you and your significant other can do together (date night!) or youre sick of being the one standing against the wall when everyone else is out on the dance floor, you have to check out Dance FX. Ive seen people make as much as a 2 hour drive to the studio, multiple times a week because they know they are going to get the best dance instruction in town. Im so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know so many amazing people. Ill definitely be keeping in touch with my Dance FX family.

Amanda was an amazing dance instructor for my husband and I! We took a series of 5 lessons and will be taking more after the summer. Amanda is patient, kind, funny, always smiling, and did I mention patient? No matter how many mis- steps I took she was always ready to try again with me. Thanks Amanda! Since the beginning of this year I have been taking Country Dance lessons at Dance FX Studio. I did this after suddenly becoming single and wishing I knew how to dance instead of standing off the dance floor watching others on it dancing. Then in May the studio replaced the instructors while I still had lessons remaining. That broke my heart because nobody Country Swings like Katie , 2 Stepping with Gwen was an absolute thrill, Jordan straightened out a problem I was having with my inside/outside turns on County Swing and my lessons with Samantha were the most physical because she made me dance through my missteps (and that’s how I really learned). Though these four are no longer with the studio, I gotta recognize them because they gave me the social confidence to get out of the house and onto the dance floor.I went forward with my remaining lessons with an open mind and have danced with two of the current instructors. Sierra is a joy to dance with; she is just as friendly as she is outstanding as a dancer. My lessons were with Taloa. Within seconds of my first lesson with her, I knew I was dancing with a pro. She is positive energy as an instructor and taught me some awesome moves to add to my 2 Step that I use when I go out dancing at Denim & Diamonds on Saturday nights. I enjoyed having Taloa as an instructor so much, I purchased additional lessons.Speaking of lessons I have to add this; they are not cheap. If you want to get your money’s worth, you have to practice what you learn from the studio so you can retain it. My endorsement of this dance studio to the other single guys out there wishing to learn Country Dance is this; if you can get a lady out on the dance floor and show her that you can dance, more often than not they’ll seek you out to dance with them again.

Before attending Dance FX Studios, I had very little dancing skill. I didnt just have two left feet, they were upside down and backwards. Driving to the studio for my first lesson, I was very nervous (and I ride a motorcycle EVERYDAY through Phoenix traffic with other drivers trying their best to kill me, so not much makes me nervous). After my first lesson at the studio, that all changed. When I walk into the studio, Im almost instantly acknowledged, by name too, no generic hi customer how are you scripts here. My instructor, Kalen is super kind and incredibly patient, although I think some days I stretch her patience a little thin. She lets me learn at my own pace and lets me keep practicing a certain step over and over until I feel confident, instead of rushing on to the next step. The bulk of my interaction has been with Kalen, but I have met and talked a little with the other staff members. The staff is super friendly and you can tell they love their job, and more importantly, they love their clientele. Ill admit, once or twice, I walked in and I didnt see anyone (they are human after all and no one is perfect) but within 30 seconds to a minute, someone walked out of the office and greeted me. If you’re looking to learn a specific dance, or want to start dancing as a hobby, or even if you have never danced before and just want to see what it’s all about, I recommend this studio. You will not be disappointed.

Jessica, our dance instructor was awesome. Jessica was patient and easy to learn from. I highly recommend her as a Dance Instructor. My wife and I completed 6 classes of salsa and bachata and needed a lot more but learned a lot.

Amanda is a wonderful dancer and instructor she has worked with my brother and I and she has taught us so much in just a few short weeks. MY Husband even learned some new moves! We love Amanda!

My wife and I came here to learn some country dance basics, first dance lessons ever. They really make you feel comfortable and weve been surprised at how much weve learned in a short time. Emily and Bri are both fantastic instructors. Highly recommend this place!

I have never been very good or comfortable dancing. I was always that guy who stood on the side like a wallflower watching everyone else have fun.. wishing I could do that.. but no more!! I am so glad that I made the decision to sign up for private lessons. The first few lessons were tough.. getting out of my head and learning to relax proved to be challenging.. but thanks to my terrific instructor Taloa, I am finally finding my confidence on the dance floor.. and I’m having a blast in the process!!The biggest thing for me was finding an instructor who makes me feel comfortable, safe, and non-judged! I knew it was going to take me longer than most.. so, I am very grateful to have found an instructor who is both patient and kind.Taloa makes each class super fun, but she also pushes me each week to do better. She never lets me slide on my foot work. Her talent is inspiring! I can honestly say that coming in twice a week is one of the best parts of my week. I get so excited on dance class days!! I am about to finish up my Novice package and I have already signed up for more classes. Thank you DanceFX for helping me to find a new passion!!!P.S. I went to Dance Fx to start learning Argentine tango after years of being away from it. I was set up with instructors who were happy to teach and started going to socials that helped me learn more dances than I expected to such an amazing place!

As a man who has sat out most every dance with my wife except for slow ones I finally have done something about it and its all thanks to DanceFX.Thanks to my daughter and son-in-law hearing my comment about wanting to learn proper dance moves they provided my wife and me with a gift certificate to use at DanceFX. Taking advantage of their generosity, we signed up for private lessons after our introductory class. Together my wife and I have reached a point where we now dance Swing, Foxtrot, Arizona Two Step, and Waltz. I can actually dance well enough to accompany her on the dance floor. She particularly loves Swing dancing and after working with Taloa, my wife and I are enjoying a new phase of our 40-year marriage.I cant say enough about DanceFX and the staff who instruct. Taloa is a true professional dance instructor. I had no idea of the intricacies and complexity of dance done right. She very capably broke down the basic patterns, taught them until mastered and then slowly expanded into other moves. She took a true novice who only had one thing working for him and that was a desire to learn to dance with the love of his life for 40 years.So, to all the husbands, boyfriends, or partners who are trying to get up the courage to learn the proper way to dance give DanceFX a call and try it for yourself. DanceFX has an introductory rate and is well worth taking them up on it. One thing I can promise is learning the correct way to dance will bring fun and happiness to your life!In closing, I want to thank Taloa, again for being a wonderful instructor and human being. She brings to the dance floor great patience and understanding in teaching proper technique. She has had a very big part is keeping me focused and picking me up when my frustration level maxed out on those days when it seemed I would never learn the moves. A big shout out to Sierra, too. She too is fantastic and a capable, professional teacher of dance. Either lady will teach you the correct way to dance.

Taloa certainly puts the eXtra in Dance FX. Learning to dance has long been on my bucket list and Taloa has turned it into reality. She teaches with grace and patience demonstrating, explaining and sometimes diagramming all body movements. Taloa is an awesome dance instructor.

Trial lesson:It was fine, just learned the steps and the class was $25.Beginners class: $69/lesson5 lesson each one is an hour long. When I signed up for the beginners class, I had to call them three times because they kept getting my schedule wrong. Very frustrating. Their customer service is very poor. Secondly, these are not one hour classes. I would get there late, wait while they were wrapping up another lesson then get my lesson. I would then be done before the end of the hour. They seemed unorganized and very pushy with their lessons. I only wanted to learn two of the dances, yet when I told them they were very persistent that I learn them all. Finally they gave up and agreed. Beware, they only teach you a few moves and once you learn those and have finished before 5 lessons then they will not teach you anymore than that. I had two different teachers for these lessons and when they didnt know what they would do next they would try to small talk with you. Im not paying for someone to ask me 20 questions.Another complaint is that they will not let you see your schedule before you pay them! I had a schedule that i gave them and all they said was that they would work with it. They didnt budge unless the had money.Also they say their prices are the best in town, they are competitive but not the best. Also the advanced classes are $97/lesson. I asked why it was worth $97/lesson and they said it was because they were teaching you to dance, no duh sherlock. Its not good that they couldnt explain why they are worth $97/hour.Pros:Good way to throw away money.Cons:Unorganized.Greedy.Less than 1 hour lessons.
