After spending the day in Westwood High School, I would say thumbs up. the teachers appear passionate about what they are teaching. I was impressed that as I walked the halls in different buildings that these educators are highly educated in their subjects. On the outside of their rooms, they display their level of education and its respective major; most of them are at Master level education and some Doctorate. The students seemed to be engaged. The paraprofessionals were very helpful. The lunchroom offered a filling meal. A FILLING meal! The campus is wide spread, like a community college campus. The security on campus appeared to be very alert without the hostility that comes from their line of work. Even their IB program is inviting. I wished this was around when I was in school. Overall, an enjoyable experience!

Great school for my two boys. There are so many programs offered like AVID, Evit, advanced AP, dual enrollment and so much more. The teachers are great and if a student is willing to educate himself, he can achieve success anywhere he goes.

This is a good school with some good students. Then there are those who dont care about their future making the school and staff its self look bad. Other than than that there is great opportunity for those who seek it.

Most of the teachers are really good, theyre passionate and some strict to help you move up. The Westwood spirit is sadly dying though. Thats one thing I dont like much. The food is great! Not bad campus. You dont have to worry about the students for they usually mind their own business, but it is possible to find good friends there. I went to Mesa high and west high so I have to rights to say it. Haha

My brothers and I all attended Westwood. I remember having great teachers. I know that Westwood teachers are the best. I highly question the students, however. Like any situation, you get what you put into it. A few years ago, I did return to do some tutoring at Westwood. Awful experience. About 1/3 of the class were on their cell phones. Poor classroom management and I am not aware of any strict policy of technology use that comes down from administration. Maybe things have changed over the past few years? If your child is in the advanced classes, I am sure they wont be around the obnoxious students who constantly disrupt class. Plenty of drugs floating on campus. Know your child.

Absolutely my favorite high school before I was torn away and sent to Barry Goldwater. Fry bread on Fridays, made some awesome friends, and I actually wanted to do my schoolwork because the teachers were so helpful and caring.

I am currently enrolled at westwood and they are very good at helping me get all the credits that I need.

This school looks like a dead park, only one building nice rest looks like a park, just plain simple..

Teachers arent horrible, but even in the IB program extremely few courses (particularly in math and science ) provided any challenge. They are also the only IB high school in the state that lacks computer science HL, Further Math HL, and Physics SL.

The nurses here are worthless they never do their jobs right and when your really sick, the only thing they can tell you is have some cough drops and go back to class...... like, really bro? -_-

My son goes to Emerson elementary and on occasion I have to have him cover his eyes when we leave the school because they do not adhere to dress code at all. I see more ass driving past the school then I do at the club!

Lame school, some good teachers, mostly bad experience here. Principal Richards sucked.

Its only a school respected in sports.....as far as academics you can clearly notice the immature students that go there, the dropouts are considerably high and if you compare its AIMS scores to McClintock High School it clearly shows a HUGE difference because McClintock is that place to go if you want to get an education.
