Super awesome, and getting better! Great for exercise, sport, self defence; students are encouraged but not required to enter tournaments which is great for those that want to actually protect themselves when needed. Its also a great place for kids to learn discipline while having fun.

We tried a different karate studio before coming here and there was no question that this school was far better than the first one. Classes are taught by the sensei who is very patient and supportive, while expecting focus and discipline. I have never once heard him tell a student they were doing a move wrong, but only offering encouragement and a demonstration of the right way to do it. My son loves it here and I have never seen him more proud of himself than when he got his yellow belt. I highly recommend this school.

Bought a Groupon to see if it was worth it. Im glad I didnt actually pay for anything as the instructor is worthless. One-on-one cant keep the attention of a 5-year-old. Very disappointing Thats probably one of the weakest things Ive ever seen.

We have had our daughters in the DePalmas school for over 2 years now. We have been so pleased with their experience and their instructors. We have seen our girls confidence grow exponentially in the time they have been involved in the programs offered through DePalmas. The classes are fun for the kids, yet still challenging and beneficial both physically and mentally. The sparring classes are monitored closely to make sure the kids are using their fighting skills properly and getting the most out of the experience. Self defense techniques are taught in all of the classes and have allowed my daughters to understand the strength of their voice, their actions and how they should be reacting in questionable situations with strangers. The regular testing and exams help to boost the kids confidence and promotes a sense of personal achievement in the students. We all love it! We highly recommend the DePalmas Team USA Martial Arts program for anyone that is considering karate for their child. You wont regret it. :)

I started training at DePalmas Mesa School in September 2011. I am currently ranked a Blue Belt with the goal of Black Belt and beyond.I am so glad to have found Mr. Gade and the Mesa School family as it has helped me in so many ways. Mentally, physically, with self-discipline, self-confidence, not to mention self defense, and for me it helped me find my Happiness again. These are just a few of the ways it has impacted my life and helped me. Im not a fan of the typical gym atmosphere and what that entails. This karate school has a fun and friendly atmosphere and you get a much better cardio workout than you normally would at a gym.
