My son enrolled here and started just a couple weeks ago, and being a toddler with no interaction with other kids, this was totally new. Mrs Angela and Director Naumann have made us feel so comfortable, welcome and he is starting to come out of his shell. The space is always clean, communication is easy and frequent, and I am so glad we have made this choice for him. Highly recommend!

Both of my kids have gone here since they were infants. There was a little high turnover when they first started but the staff and management have been AMAZING over the past year and a half. They are very communicative and care for the kids like their own. You get to know who is watching your kids and they will do whatever it takes to make you and your kid feel comfortable.

My daughter has been going to this center for the last 2 years. She has been in both the toddler and pre-k programs. There was a bit of turnover in the beginning with teachers/management, but for the last year, the staff has been solid and supportive. When the pandemic started, I was nervous that things at the center would fall apart like many of the other businesses in Minneapolis. It was the opposite. The communication has been thorough, professional and personalized. I feel more connected and informed than pre pandemic. My child has formed strong relationships with her classmates and her teachers and she is learning so much every day. The teachers at Hennepin NH care for these kids like their own.The positive impact that this center has had in our lives has been a game changer.💛💙💛

UPDATE 2019:We have pulled our son out of this center. Leadership changed. We held out for months hoping that we would see a positive trend but we gave up last month after watching several of our sons favorite teachers and administrators leave. If considering this center, pay close attention to the teachers in the classrooms: are they experienced? do they have teaching credentials? how will they handle difficult situations (behavioral challenges, ie: biting, hitting, bad drop offs)? Ultimately there are better care situations available in this area for comparable and sometimes even cheaper prices.ORIGINAL 2017 REVIEW BELOW:Our 16 month old son has been here since he was 5 months old and we have had a great experience with his learning and development during this time. Our son has learned so much from the teachers here - he comes home all the time with new skills like sign language signs, fine motor skills like utensil usage with meals, and new songs. He clearly loves his friends and his teachers here - recently we had to keep him home from school for 3 days due to illness and his first day back he was so excited as we walked up to the door that he bounced up and down in my arms. The director and assistant director have been helpful with managing his transitions between classrooms and have been responsive to our questions. For instance, while the center was opening we noted that there were a few substitute teachers that would rotate through the infant classroom and we wanted to know their names. After we brought this up, a placard was placed outside each classroom where teachers subbing in for the day could write their names for the parents to know them. We have been very happy with our experience at this center and would recommend it.

I would not recommend this place AT ALL!!!! One of their employees admitted to me that “teachers” here fasely reports a witness for their incident reports. Also my 2 year old son had an incident here that resulted on his left eye being SWOLLEN shut & I have yet to see an recording of this incident! If you care about your child DO NOT leave them here!!

Im leaving one star because you cant leave 0. New Horizons is an extremely deceiving place. We started sending our son here two years ago because it seemed clean, organized and accredited. Since then he has had eight teachers and countless other teacher assistants. Makes you wonder why huh? Management is poor. I am not the only one who thinks that, the staff thinks that as well. You can check that out online yourself. My son was learning so little there that I had to threaten them several times so they would actually start teaching him. We also signed him up for ABCmouse because I didnt know what else to do. I need my son to learn certain things before kindergarten. When you contact corporate, they just give you the runaround. You will not receive cute pictures to take home, homemade Christmas gifts, Mothers Day gifts, Fathers Day gifts or anything else. You will occasionally get a class project and some scribbles on a piece of paper. All parent-teacher conferences must be scheduled during the day on weekdays even though they are open until 6 p.m. They will schedule your childs pre-school graduation during the middle of the day on a weekday as well so even though youre paying more than $17,000 a year to send your child here full-time you will not get to see them graduate if you are a working parent. Everything is extra! Summer in school feild trips which are mandatory, are extra. Music class is extra. Soccer is extra. And on and on. The playground is a fenced area above their parking lot, which leave a lot of room for toddlers to throw clothes, shoe, toys, you name it over the fence onto the parking lot and sidewalk. They are so understaffed that the teachers never pull you to the side to talk about your childs behavior, they just do it in front of everyone, no matter HOW many times you asked them to stop. The app, that they make you pay extra for, to know what your child does during the day is rarely filled out.Communication around here is zip. You will have to tell every employee here a thing you need them to know because messages do not get passed on to all the staff even if you talk to management about it. Black beans are a staple around here. They even mix them into the Macaroni and Cheese. Listen, if you have a lot of money to burn, and you just want someone to keep your child alive during the day, then this place is probably fine. Its an overpriced Daycare. If you want your child to learn and excell, keep looking.

I just toured this preschool today. We are expecting our first child and having worked in a preschool for 6 years, I was not thrilled with what I saw and would not ever consider sending my child here. We walked into the infant room, there was a baby in a recliner chair with their own bottle. This is a huge choking hazard and something that would have failed this center to get NAEYC accreditated. I was also told they have a two hour window where high school students are left alone with children. Again this would cause the center to fail the accreditation process. While the center and toys are newer, the teachers seem to be lacking experience and enthusiasm.
