The instructors are so helpful and they really will get you a license. But only problem is they wont pick the calls when you try to schedule. And they will say that we forget you so the you have to take the class again so better choose a class with road test. But overall a good experience and I am happy because i got the license.

Mohamed is a great instructor. He is blunt and very serious about his job. He would say as it is so you improve every minute you are in the car with him. He brings his knowledge as a former examiner with him, sk you get the first hand instructions. I passed my road test after having him sitting in the car with me just one afternoon. Mohamed was an amazing teacher of my driving!It is helpful that he always sticks to driving manual manual and very stringent on my driving, which turned out to be really helpful.And I was able to pass the driving exam for the first shot.Of course, my experience was not completely perfect.They are short of staff, and it was difficult for me to contact with them first of all. (I think something is wrong with their website.) Sometimes they was not able to pick me up on time.Even with these negative points, I give five stars.I hope they can hire more staff and expand their business, so that many people can obtain drivers licenses more easily.

Id say Alamo Driving school is by far the best driving school there is. I went there over the summer to get my blue card, but what I got in return was more then I could ask for. The classroom was a safe learning environment,and the teacher was absolutely amazing. I remember staying after class to get further understanding of the Drivers Ed book. My teacher put in time and effort. When I went to go take my test at the DMV, it was just like Hed taught me. I passed. I then Did Behind the wheel training, Mohamed was my instructor. He was outstanding. I remember getting on the Highway the first day. Its was breathtaking. The first day went better then I thought. It was smooth and easy going. I knew I didnt have anything to worry about. They know what theyre doing.

Mohamed gives you the real deal as a former MN DVS Examiner. I had 2 lessons with him and I passed. He gives a lot of excellent tips, not just to pass but for your safety and the safety of those around you. He is very patient and fun to talk to. Id highly recommend him as your instructor. Godda go

I had failed my road couple of times before i decided to take up behind the wheel training classes at Alamo.That changed my overall approach towards driving and i was able to get my drivers licence.I recommend Alamo for the good instructors who take the effort of teaching each and every small details which eventually plays big role during your road test and eventually helps you become a good driver.Double thumps up....

First of all, I didnt get either Mohamed or Aaron as the instructor, who seems really great from the other reviews. The instructor I got was okay but not careful enough to look into the basics of my driving, and was not fastidious enough to remind me what I am doing wrong or giving me enough inputs to correct those. My instructor also gave me a terrible advice to drive @25-30 mph during the test (at Plymouth closed course); I failed in my driving test, and eventually changed to another school, where I passed at the first attempt. My experience in that school was really great compared to what I had in Alamo. I was not also really impressed by the customer service; I went there during the regular hour one time, and nobody was there; also, there was no sign or message indicating any message and I had to wait for half an hour before anybody showed up.

Mercedes and Ahmad are both really good! They were both very patient and also took the time to teach me skills not just for the driving test but for day to day driving as well. I was nervous for the exam and parallel parking but thats the part I did perfectly on the road test. Thank you both!

My experience with Alamo driving school was awesome.The way the instructors guide you step by step was too helpful.This was first time I was driving a car and with a training of only 6 hours from the Alamo I was able to learn the basics of driving and clear the Road test in 1st attempt.

I had not driven a day in my life for 30+ years (and you would know how much harder it is to learn a new skill when you are older) until I came to this school.What sets this place apart from other schools is the hands-on approach from day 1 without any compromise on safety (self and others). It is a true example of learning by doing. You are behind the wheel and on the controls.Mohammed is the best instructor - always patient and encouraging and yet, telling you like it is if/when you mess up. I went from never having driven a car to passing the MN driving test in a month with Alamo Driving School. I receive the 8 hours training plus road test from Alamo. The courses are excellent and the instructors are very helpful. They showed me everything I should know during the road test, which makes me pass easily. I will recommend it to every new beginner on driving.

DO NOT CHOOSE THEM! If there is a zero star option that would be my choice. I will not recommend this diving school to anyone. Worst customer service ever, and it will take you forever to get your licence!So you have to pay them before you can do anything. There is no clear instruction to tell you what to do after the payment. So I decided to call them after week since I made the payment. I called five times before anyone answered the phone. The lady on the other side of the phone spoke very unpleasantly, and she asked for my contact info and said they will get back to me once they check my payment. Then three weeks later I still havent heard back them, so I called again. After the third call, she finally picked up. I told her if I cannot get the services I paid for I will dispute and get my money back, and she became so efficient and signed me up for classes that day. The driving instructor will let you go directly to the road without even trying to check whether you know how to control the car properly. So now Ive finished my classes, and Im ready to take the test. One more time I gave them a call to sign up for the test, the lady said she need to check with my instructor to see whether she think Im ready for the test, and if she doesnt think so then they will force me to take more classes. After that not a single word from them, AGAIN, and now there is no way I can know when I will able to take the test. I mean if I cant pass the test then thats my problem, but I paid for the test and at least you should offer me the service since you took the money. Dont try to tell me you didnt get back to them because you have so many students. You SHOULDNT let students sign up if you dont have the ability to handle them!

I would like to whole-heartedly recommend Alamo Driving School. Mercedes, the instructor, was very cool and patient with me during my four hours of lessons. She did a good job on pointing out everything about my driving that could be improved, and I learned a lot even though I already had a previous drivers license from another country. She was very attentive, and taught me how to drive safely, watch for pedestrians and bicyclists etc. I appreciate it very much that she put out the cones for practicing 90degree parking even when it was pouring outside the car :) Needless to say, the lessons started on time, even if it was 7.30am on a Sunday morning. Finally, she knew all the details of the testing course, and her tips helped me to pass the test. Keep up the good work and thanks for the excellent lessons!

ZERO STARSBEWARE!I paid online for behind the wheel instruction, but NO ONE has returned my calls and I have been UNABLE to schedule lessons. I have therefore asked for my money to be RETURNED but again, no one has returned my calls in almost TWO WEEKS.** I have since learned the owner is out of town. I was finally able to schedule the lessons, but customer service is spotty at best. Hoping the actual instruction is better.

I had a great experience at Alamo Driving School. They have good teachers that teach very good and they talk clear. I went there for my 30 hours of classroom and I learned a lot more things about driving. I finished the 30 hours and got my blue card and passed the knowledge test at the first try. Then i went back to do the 6 hours Behind The Wheel and the Instructor, Mercedez, was a very good instructor and taught me a lot of things to become a better driver. After that I took my Road Test and passed it at the first time too. I will recommend Alamo Driving School because they are so great and know what they have to do to help their students become excellent drivers. Thank you very much Alamo Driving School!

My behind-the-wheel lessons with Alamo Driving School was wonderful and extremely helpful. My driving instructor was Mohammed Irshat, and he was everything you would expect in a great teacher. He was always clear and precise in his instructions. His calm demeanor during our lessons helped me to be calmer and more confident behind the wheel. Alamo Driving School was one of the best decisions Ive ever made. I had a very professional, patient and excellent instructor named Mohamed Ahmed. In just four hours, he taught me the techniques and concepts needed to drive a car. Honestly, I never thought I could learn to drive so quickly in million years, but I did and I passed the road test on my first try. Obtaining a driver’s license at the age of 32 has given me the freedom and control of my future endeavors behind the wheel. I dont know where all these fabulous reviews came from, but my daughters personal experience was HORRIBLE! She sat in an acrid, poorly lit dirty room with 7 other non-english speaking students distancing themselves from her. They were eating, texting, acting out and actually frequently leaving during the class! There was an opening toward the alley were a couple of homeless people were begging and watching the class. There was also a large black dust covered security camera peering down at the students.The instructor was unable to read at an acceptable adult level. My daughter said, Mom, it was like he was a second grader stumbling over his words with a very thick accent! The instructor also, did not care about about the behavior of the students.It is important to speak clearly for everyone especially my daughter who is profoundly hard of hearing. In addition, Alamo driving school was clearly notified of her condition before class and assured us they had very competent instructors.My daughter is a 4.0 honor roll student that lives downtown and is used to the culture. That being said she took that ONE class and never would even entertain the idea of ever going back!She felt scared VERY UNSAFE and disturbed by the disorganized, unprofessional, completely detached instructor as well as the apathetic poorly behaved students.I cannot comprehend how any review can find even one redeeming quality about ALAMO DRIVING SCHOOL!

I would like to thank Mohamed Ahmed for his hard work to train me how to drive safely and remove my nervousness while I was driving. It was embarrassed to the fact that I had a drive license of my own country, but I didn’t get my USA license until now after six years that I have been living here. One of the reasons is that my husband doesn’t want to teach me because he said he was much more nervous than I was. In October 2012, I eventually walked into Aloma driving school and started to think about taking some drive lessons. It was God’s will, I think. I met Mohamed at the school. At that time I don’t know he is the founder of this school. After briefly conversation with him alone, I decided to enroll 8-hours driving lesson and designated him as my instructor. I think one of the reasons is because he carries a very strong work ethics. He cares about his students and he is confident and passionate about what he is doing. I am a professional. I look at him as a professional rather than just an instructor therefore I immediately stop my other driving-school researching process.My first day of 2-hour lesson was totally going crazy. He challenged me to pay attention to the signs while I was still trying to control the vehicle. During the second day of 2-hour lesson he already took me to the freeway and changed lanes on the busy freeway. Honestly, at that time I wasn’t sure that I was ready for the freeway. However, one thing that he said was comforting me. He said I should not feel afraid because he was in the car with me. I felt that is absolutely right. That is what I paid for. If without Mohamed, I think I will never feel comfortable to drive on the freeway. After three lessons, my husband felt much more confident in sitting in the car while I was driving. I feel Mohamed set a higher expectation for me right from the beginning so that I can overcome my fear zone. I also feel he teaches me the good driving habit. Driving is like many other things, which needs to develop a good habit, hopefully from the very beginning. Mohamed, as an instructor, is also extremely nice and patient. He never yelled at me because I heard other instructors would yell at students. One more professional aspect of Mohamed is that once you are his student, he will always treat you as his student. I remember I didn’t ask him to take me to my road test because I am more familiar with my own car at that moment. However, God’s will again that I met him at the road test center while he was taking other students to take the road test. I was nervous at that time. He saw me and he said I will pass. Don’t worry. He showed me the one-way and two-way roads in the center. I just feel appreciated it, because he was not obligated to do that at that point. However, he did it because, I think, he just cares about his students. Thank God and thank Mohamed that I passed my road test on my first attempt.To be honest, I am still not quite confident about driving on the freeway but I know I already grasp the right skills from Aloma driving school. It just takes time for me to practice. Practice builds confidence. Now I am in a new level of freedom.

My experience at with the Alamo Driving School has been superb on multiple levels. The staff at Alamo really know how to work and communicate with an array of people from all walks of life. I learned how to drive, but not only that I made legitimate connections with my instructors. The people teaching you cannot be likened corporate figure heads or impersonal clerks at your local convenience store, they are real people with real lives that know how to relate to you and instruct you on a very personal and meaningful basis.Immediately from the start I felt confident and relaxed under my instructors care and as my lessons progressed so did my friendship with the instructors. These people genuinely care about your progress and development of safe driving habits. Their mission is to get you your license and ensure that you will become a safe and defensive driver. In addition to everything youd want out of a behind the wheel experience I had great conversation and learned some important life lessons.If youre looking to start driving and to learn how to drive safely take at least their 8 hours of lessons and road test package. I highly recommend 8 hours or more--it gives you ample time to improve and cover all aspects of driving. In addition, if you choose the road test option they will set you up with a road test in a fraction of the time it would normally take to schedule an appointment.I passed my road test on the first try and made some awesome friends--I do not believe I would have had a better experience learning how to drive anywhere else. Alamo driving school is very professional, the instructors are very punctual on the timings, they are courteous and knowledgable about all the details needed to pass a road test. Some of the instructors have been examiners at the DMV, so they definitely know what they are doing.

The 8 hours behind the wheel really help develop core skills imperative to becoming a safe and defensive driver; it will also cover every minor nuance necessary to pass your road test. In addition if you set up a road test with them they will schedule an appointment for you in a fraction of the time it would normally take to set one up!I learned how to drive safety, had great conversation, made some awesome friends and even learned some important life lessons. Very unproffesional. I paid for a package because you couldnt schedule without paying. No one answers their phones or get back to you. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. I sent many emails and none were returned in order to schedule. The communication is terrible and I lost a lot of money.

This review is long overdue. I am a REAL person writing this review. The reason why Alamo didnt get a 5 star from me is that they took forever to get back to me. I had to call and pretty much get upset because the communication was not there. But anyways I worked with Mohammed the driver instructor. I sign up for the special driving packet with the 2hr driving practice with the road test. Lets just say that I like working with Mohammed he was very patience and kind towards me. If he was done early with someone else he would call and ask to meet up earlier. He worked with me on parallel parking and all that good stuff till I felt comfortable to do it in my sleep. He never yelled or made me feel stupid about anything. But be aware if you have NEVER driven before please take more classes, because I have driven before and was just rusty with some of the signs and ways of driving. I took my test and passed it on the 1st try. I would never taught that I could pass in the 1st go around but I did. So THANK YOU MOHAMMED for your patience!!!Tasha

An hour spent with the experienced instructors of alamo equals to years of driving.Money paid for the driving classes and test is surely money well spent..i spent four hours with alamo,and it was superb and did the driving test without even a single mistake.Congrats Alamo Driving for your great training you gave to me and to the community..

This is my first online review..EVER. Im taking the time out to write it because I was not only pleasantly surprised with my customer experience, but I would like to share it so it can make the decision making process easier for someone looking for this kind of service. Firstly, I gave 4 stars because communication with someone from the school was a little rough as the phones were hardly answered. It was a little fustrating but Mohammed was professional enough to return my calls and my messages so that helped.Anyways, my first contact with Alamo was through their website (after I did a google search). I was hesitant to sign up online but I took a chance. I signed up for the 3x 2hrs plus road test package. I did my test today and I passed on the first attempt! I was really nervous, but I had confidence in the way Mohammed A. taught me. He was very patient and professional during our lessons. His use of the tape on the mirror technique really helped. It settled any preconceived parking woes I had. I had a little experience driving before but got a little rusty. However, I quickly gained my confidence back after my lessons. So whether youre an amateur or advanced and just need to shake off the rust, this is the school for you!So, this is getting a little long, but one final detail that I have to include is how Mohammed (the lead instructor and owner Im assuming) really helped me out with a fustrating situation I had. He went above and beyond to not only help resolve the problem, but also created a positive customer experience for me. All in all, Alamo is the way to go!

Alamo driving school is No.1 place to go for driving school. I recommend everyone to Alamo driving school.The instructors are the best in town. I have passed the road test and got my driver license thanks to instructors Mercedez and keza.The staff at Alamo driving school are dedicated instructors who care about their customers greatly. They understand the needs of their customers especially nervous drivers. That is why I chose Alamo driving school in the first place. I had 4 hours with with Mohamed and Mercedez and two hour road test with keza They were engaging and asked me if I had questions to get me motivated. They went over the ten rules with me. They were firm with the rules and road signs. the instructors went over lane changing and signaling. They emphasized blind spot checking all the time. They showed me 90 degree and parallel parking. They were warm and excited. they were not over me or did not leave alone to do the driving by myself

I did behind the wheel somewhere else and went to go take my road test and i failed the road test 3 times so i decided to take another 6 hours behind the wheel with alamo driving school and the next day they took me to plymouth dmv to take my road test and i passed right away. Mohammed is very friendly,patient, and he teaches you everything you need to know not only for you to pass your test but for you to be a great driver as well. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone. Everyone talks about Mohammed like hes this great guy. Hes not. He paired me up with the worst teacher. Mercedez. This girl was all over the place. She was on her phone the whole time while i was testing with her in the car. She was dressed up professionally and half the time she was texting. I only needed 6 hours behind the wheel and Mohammed broke it down to 2 hours one week then 4 hours the second week then I was supposed to take my test right after. Hes willing to put money before the students. I really hate this school. Im pretty sure he writes all his comments making it seem like a good place to drive but its really not. You can find somewhere better and probably much MUCH cheaper. BEWARE!

I PASSED MY ROAD TEST LAST WEEK my second attempt with Alamo Driving School !!!!! Glory to God and great thanks to Mercedez my instructor. My driving lessons have always had long interval of time in between over the years but i made up my mind in may 2008 that i was gonna do this once and for all. So after extensive internet search, my inner person kept recommending this school. I booked the 5-Hr lessons package plus road test with them and before i started, I occasionally took single lessons( whenever i feel like driving) with another school closer to me ( I stay in Edina). I started my package lessons a week before my road test and immediately i saw the difference in method of teaching. Mercedez was just exceptional. while at the other school,the instructor was quick to step on the brake for no reason. Mercedez kept building my confidence and was quick to pull my foot off the brake when i start using it out of timidity. She never yelled, was always courteous and very quick to give praise when i made a good move which really helped me.Her teaching on parallel parking made it seem like a piece of cake. I remember calling my friend to compliment Mercedez on her manner of teaching. When we got to the road test area and drove around couple of times to warm up, after few drills she said I think you are ready lets go. I remember saying are you sure? and she answered YES. I realised that if i failed my test then it will not be her fault cos she had taught me everything i needed to pass.Sometimes out of anxiety we make mistakes during the test and then blame it on our instructor. The car was superb ( i felt more at home with it). Office space is nothing to complain about since lessons take place on the road, Thanks to all staff of the school. Alamo Driving school is the BEST driving school for anyone to go to! Mohammed was extremely helpful! I took the class in December of 2011 and he taught everything that would be on the written test. He even told me of some of the wording tricks the DMV uses on there test. So when i took the test, I only got 1 question wrong! I was very happy to pass thanks to Mohammed s help. When I was taking the road test, we were driving together about an hour or two together and he was giving me his own test to help me get ready for the real things. There were a lot of things I didnt know that he should me such as having to look for pedestrians on the street even when there was a green light, having to shoulder check even if you have the right of way and more. One unique thing he even did is when he took the wheel and I was in the passenger seat he told me to tell him what he did wrong. To me it looked like he was driving perfectly, but he told me all the wrong things he did, things that i thought were correct! The second time I caught all the mistakes. Afterwards he took to the road test and got me ready to take it. He wished me luck, and I passed the test. He even dropped me off at the midtown market to get my picture taken for the license. All in all if you want to take the class for the written test or behind the wheel training, dont go anywhere else. Mohammed is an amazing teacher because he goes the extra mile. He cares about his students and gives his students an enjoyable experience. Look at all the other reviews here. They are all positive and show how great of a teacher Mohammed is!
