Josh is an incredible drum teacher. I have been playing for over 20 years and Josh is by far my favorite drum teacher Ive ever had. Its like taking lessons from a friend (who just so happens to be an amazing drummer). Very low pressure teacher, but at the same time knows how to get the best out of me, even when I am feeling discouraged. Not every great player is a great teacher. Josh is both. From what I have seen from Josh, hes a very versatile player, whether youre looking for help with drumline or expanding your jazz playing vocabulary and anything in between Josh can help.His rehearsal room is in the basement of his familys home. Very nice setup with two drum sets and practice pads, whatever you need - hes got it. Very clean and safe. Hes been great during quarantine, too, shifting all our lessons to Zoom or Google Duo which works perfect. Great communicator and works around your schedule. Josh is the man!

Josh is an amazing teacher. I had never drummed in my life before taking lessons with Josh, and after just one lesson I was able to play multiple rock beats. I have seen so much progress, and I look forward to each lesson. Josh is also super flexible in lessons if there is something specific I want to work on. He is also incredibly patient especially with a new learner! I will also add Josh is very funny, so lessons are always fun even if they are challenging.

The quality of lessons here were amazing. You can learn at your own pase as fast or as slow as your life allows. Josh Kaplan is a drummer who knows so much about so many cultures will teach you about the music,the people and background. I have contacted Josh countless times last minute for help on things and I got a response of exactly what to do and how to do it right and better. I couldnt ask for a better teacher, mentor, role model then Josh Kaplan making learning fun and awesome!

Josh brings out the best in his students. Highly recommend.
