A family experience. My husband and 2 children have attended Master Ji’s School of Taekwondo a year and a half. I love how he pushes them to do their best. He does it in such a respectful way that the kids respond to him, want to do better. They have been moving quickly through belts and he has jumped through every hoop to keep the Dojo open with every restriction mandate in place putting the student’s safety first! I’m so proud to be part of this family.

Master Ji is one of the most hardworking and generous people I have ever known. I consider myself to be immensely fortunate in having found this gym as it played an incredible role in my growth as both an athlete and a person. It was because of Master Jis knowledge and skill of coaching that I was able to compete at a national and international level. I recommend this gym to anyone of any age because you will reach both your physical and personal goals here.

I cannot take Master Ji enough.Our boy moved from Jiu Jitsu to Taekwondo after we were referred to Master Ji by dear friends.Attending Master Ji and just being around him is all about respect and having fun. Master ji is a great teacher because he actually cares about his students. My grandson has been going there for 5 years and loves it. You cant find a better place to go where your child has fun as they learn discipline and respect for themselves and others.

My son and I both joined Master Ji’s Taekwondo. My son has gained confidence and is becoming more and more coordinated with each class. Master Ji does an amazing job with continuing to help each individual improve physically and mentally by challenging us to see what is possible and not get complacent or stagnant in our training. I joined Master Ji’s around March of 2020 and I can’t tell you how life changing this has been for me. He makes you work hard but in the end I have learned more than I ever thought I could. I’m 64 years old and he has taught me never to give up!!

We love going to Master Ji’s Tae Kwon Do. He is a very good teacher and role model for the kids and the adults alike. My very shy daughter has learned not only martial arts, but has gained self-confidence, improved discipline at home and understands the meaning of respect thanks to his classes and his wonderful instructors. My daughter is proud of each achievement and knows that he celebrates them with her.He is a very honest and genuine person. He makes you feel like your opinion is valued, you are not just there to fill a spot in the class. There is never a feeling that he is rushing through belt tests, or putting undue pressure on the students to try to test without knowing that they have worked hard and earned it they need belt.Each student is valued. It is obvious he cares very much for his students and wishes to inspire them to be the best versions of themselves and he cares very much for our little community.

Master Ji is an absolute treasure to our community. Not only does he provide world class Tae Kwon Do training, he is also an incredible human who does so much for our community and every family in his school. My 9 year-old has been training for 3 years and loves it. He is challenged, held accountable, recognized for progress and hard work, and has fun. If you are looking for martial arts training, kid or adult, Master Jis is where you want to go without question.

My kids have been doing TKD with Master Ji for 4 years and I would never find a place that would compare. The time and dedication Master Ji as well as all the Assistants take to help every person person get to their potential is amazing! The students definitely become family! I have known Master Ji since he first came to America from Korea. At the time, he knew very little English, yet persisted in taking classes to learn our language, so that he could eventually pass along his lifetime of knowledge to his students. I was working nights delivering papers, so I felt that I needed to know self defense. After years of successfully attending classes elsewhere, I joined Master Jis school in Monroe and, ever since, the training has fundamentally changed my viewpoint of attaining personsl goals, self improvement, even my outlook on life and people around me. His training has proven that I can attain personal goals I didnt think likely, even possible. It has fostered, through mental and physical development, a sense of confidence that has led to an inner calm disposition and overall happiness!This successful formula is simple: working as hard as possible to my personal abilities, having a realistic view of where I am in my training, and committing to my improvement on a consistent basis. Master Ji provides the instruction and motivation, but continually reminds us that it IS up to us to do the work to make these goals a reality. This honest, realistic approach has made difficult training understandable as the most direct way of becoming the student and person that I am working to become. Though I continually discover how much more that I need to.learn, I am immensely happy with the student that Ive become, and happily drive the 32+ miles from Ballard to Monroe to get this instruction. At 62 years old, I intend to continue this training as long as I physically am able, and I believe this training has extended this deadline past its natural course. Master Ji is the main factor why Ive continued practicing taekwondo uninterrupted these past 24 years.

I joined this dojang when I was 21.I had been having issues with confidence and depression. I needed something to help right some stuff about myself that didnt feel right. Getting into a daily workout regiment, sparing, and cardio multiple times a day. It helped me build that confidence and pull myself out of my hole.Master Ji has since treated me like his little brother; very patient, understanding, wise, and kind. Hes always made time for me in the school and in life.Meeting Master Ji quite literally changed the course of my life for the positive and steered me from a far worse place.Its been 9 years, even though I work a full time job, and live 30 miles away, I long for the days to go back to when I lived nearby. I try to still attend every week or so.Come join the school, I cant promise you will go through the same personal experience. But, its worth trying right?

I entered Master Ji’s TKD 11 years ago when my daughter started to have sassy attitude. She turned 18 years old today and is one of instructors there. Master ji has strengthen both of my kids physically and mentally. They have learned countless important life skills such as self discipline, patience, leadership and how to respect others from Master ji. Master Ji cares genuinely about the kids and you can see his passions easily through his consistent hard work. He started Zoom online lessons before any other TKD schools around here when school had to be closed during the pandemic. He follows the guidelines and goes above and beyond to make sure his students are safe to come to his school. I would not put my kids to any other martial arts school. Master Ji and his community are huge part of who my kids are today and am I can not be any more proud. We are so lucky to have Master Ji in Monroe.

My son has been attending taekwondo classes at Master Jis for over two years now. Our family has been so impressed with Master Ji and how he runs his school. My son, who is 7 now, has learned discipline and that hard work pays off. Master Ji recognizes my son is not overly athletic and pushes him to so his very best. He also tests him based upon knowing HE is doing HIS personal best. Master Ji always has Black Belt assistants and co-instructors but make sure the kids are doing what is appropriate for their own level (color belt) and they correct form, to make sure the students are doing everything correctly! Enrolling our son in Master Jis Taekwondo was the best thing we have done for our him. He has confidence, discipline and respect for his family/peers. We cant wait to enroll our daughter when she is old enough 😊 Seriously though, I cannot say enough good things about Master Ji. He is firm and pushes kids to be the best version of themselves all while creating a level of respect and admiration. Dont worry he has a fun side too!

My daughter started attending Master Ji’s Taekwondo school 3.5 years ago. Our hope was to help stop the bullying she was dealing with at school- to give her a much needed confidence boost. What she got was so much more! As she worked her way up through the belts, she learned how to be a good human. She learned to work hard, be a welcoming face to any new student, focus, and push through the “I can’ts”. Master Ji taught her these things, along with the black belts that assist him. They are some of the best role models for young people. My daughter earned her black belt in June! Master Ji teaches not just the techniques of Taekwondo, but also the philosophy. This inspired me to sign up and I received my junior black belt earlier this year. When you take class with Master Ji and his instructors, you will learn a lot about self defense, the art of poomsae, the philosophy of Taekwondo, and you will gain a lot of wisdom in the process. The dojang has become a second home for my daughter and I. I highly recommend Master Ji’s dojang to anyone looking to build confidence, gain health, and find peace of mind.

Master Jis Taekwondo is an amazing school. Master Ji cares about the students and ensures they learn the fundamentals of Taekwondo. He works very hard to foster an environment where every student is able to learn and grow!
