Its unfortunate that there are people putting out negative and false reviews on places that they heard about. To give an accurate review about a place, would be if you have truly experienced it. I have boarded at the SFA equine facility for the past 3+ years. My horse has been loved and very well cared for since we have been here. Any time I have asked for a slight adjustment or extra help the students and staff have been more then willing. The SFA equine center is a happy, welcoming and great learning environment.

I boarded here for 3 years and I love the facility. Its got an amazing covered arena, 2 round pens, a hot walker, and an exerciser. The horses are fed routinely at the same time and are looked after by the workers who are horse lovers themselves. There is several options for boarding that are affordable. While my horse was here I didn’t have to worry about her, because I knew she was well looked after. I worked here for my senior year and it still is my favorite job I’ve had. Dr. Jones is organized, professional and looking out for her students and boarders. I was so sad to leave when the new manager came in, Cassie. She’s helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Both of them together made the equine center a home away from home, a place where horse lovers, owners and riders could come learn and grow together and have a good time. The growth of both riders and horses has been something to admire. I miss this place dearly!!

I have worked and ridden at this facility for over a year now and I have loved every second of it. The faculty have high expectations of the students and push us to be our best but still manage to make it a positive learning experience. They give every student equal opportunities to ride, show, and get the best hands on experience a student could get. I absolutely love this place and It’s become a home to me.

I absolutely love being able to go ride at the Equine Center for Stephen F. Austin. I started school here as a transfer student Fall of 2018. I am Majoring in Animal Science as a Equine Emphasis. The people who work here and the Barn manager are so much fun to be around and we are like family here. When I feel alone, it’s my get away place to feel safe. Please if you ever think about about being apart of SFA Animal science i recommend visiting the equine center. I’ve had so many opportunities given to me here that I would have never been able to accomplish anywheres else. The barn manager Cassie has really helped me improve my riding skills and training skills, for when after I graduate I can put towards my career. Dr.Jones, well let’s just say she is absolutely amazing and so willing to help. I love everyone who works here.

Ive never seen this place in person, but I have a friend who goes to school here. She takes riding classes and rides outside of class. She has told me about how much she enjoys the environment here. And how Everyone is so welcoming. She even told me about all the opportunities she has been given. She loves it and I cant wait to visit it.

Overall I have had a wonderful experience out at the SFA Equine Center. The environment is very welcoming and everyone there is so kind and is always willing to help out. I have taken multiple classes out there and I have learned so much and advanced my horsemanship skills is many different ways. I’ve also had the opportunity to work out there as a student worker and it has been and continues to be a great opportunity that I am very thankful for. There is a great team dynamic between everyone, workers and bosses, and we all work together to make sure the place is run smoothly. I would recommend this program to anyone who is looking for an equine program that offers great knowledge as well as a welcoming, kind, and professional environment.

Where do I even BEGIN?! I have worked at the Equine Center for a year now and started riding a month or so before I was hired. Dr. Jones and Cassie go OUT of their way every SINGLE day, to make sure that we are always taken care of as SFA student workers. We all work together day in and day out to make sure our horses, as well as the boarders like myself, are taken care of. I honestly couldn’t imagine a more POSITIVE environment to work in. I can’t imagine not working here and I’m going to be devastated when I do have to leave. I can tell you for a fact that if you ever decide to make a trip out to the Equine Center, you won’t regret it.

We have boarded our horseBetween 4-5 years .The facility is up to date, well maintained and well run.The barn manager , Cassie, is knowledgeable and available in a timely manner to boarders and students alike - as well as attentive to details. It’s interesting to watch student workers grow in their care and responsibility of horses and ranch management. What we truly enjoy is the collaboration of the Equine management team, student Ranch workers and boarders. We are extremely grateful for SFA providing a teaching - learning environment for our horses as well as all of us. We’re never to old to learn !SFA Equine Center is all about safety, quality, dependability. The knowledgeable staff trains students to go on to accomplish their goals. The students we have seen grow from Freshman to Senior Graduates and sometimes to their Graduate Programs possess a good solid passion for their studies and then careers in whatever part of Agricultural, Animal and or Land Management they choose. We are more than pleased to board our horse at SFA.🐎5 ⭐️ star rating .

Heard this place has the worse professional leadership, would not recommend this as a workplace. The team doesn’t treat you fairly and lack the chance to give students an opportunity to grow in the agriculture work field.

I worked for the SFA Equine Center my freshman year under different management and couldn’t stand being there for the time I was working and resigned after only 4 months of working there. Now (my senior year), I work there again and it’s my favorite place to be. Dr. Jones and Cassie are the best bosses and teachers/coaches we could’ve ever asked for. The equine center is so much more enjoyable now! The environment is calm and loving because Cassie and Dr. Jones do whatever they can to help you and make you a better rider! I’ve learned so much from the SFASU equine center! I’m going to miss it when I graduate!
