Great instructors!Learn how to fly!

There are so many things to consider when selecting a Flight School to train at. When I arrived in North Carolina, I was pretty determined to find the right school considering I would be spending a lot of my money getting all the required certifications.My first experience with the staff was being greeted by Dawn who is responsible GI Bill/VA processing (Tradewind is partnered with Liberty University and Craven Community College). She was incredibly polite and helped me get the process rolling to fly. The paperwork wasnt to bad and before long I was greeted by my Certified Flight Instructor (CFI). Although Tradewinds employs many awesome CFIs, I am thankful to be working with Brayden Brooks. Although he is a younger CFI, Brayden consistently represents the qualities of a great instructor and member of the team.The facilities are great as well, as soon as you walk into the building there is a lounge waiting area with nice comfy couches, Flight planning tables and computers to check the current weather. The waiting area is always kept clean by the staff and contributes to a relaxed environment. Tradewinds also has multiple classrooms for ground instruction.The aircraft available to fly here are well maintained as expected from a good Part 141 Flight School. The Hanger, where all major maintenance is conducted, is clean and orderly as well. I have never had an appointment cancelled due to down aircraft. On some days, there are periods of high student volume but Brayden has always made himself available for instruction which is great since I work all day and have a family.Overall the experience of learning to fly has been great and I am very thankful to have found this group of aviators. I highly recommend Tradewinds for flight training or just aircraft rentals.

Very friendly staff; excellent facilities. A bit pricey as rentals, but their fleet is well maintained and reasonably well equipped. They have single VFR, complex IFR, and twin training. I lost my medical years ago, but they worked with me to fly again.

We were visiting from South Dakota and we wanted to rent a plane from them. I called them the night before and they were able to make arrangements for my check ride for the following morning. That next morning there was a lot of paperwork to complete however the CFI who was supposed to fly with me didnt have enough time after I had completed the paperwork. I thought I would have to leave without getting fully checked out. But another CFI, Brandon, offered to rearrange his schedule to accommodate my check ride. I am so grateful that he did that. He was a pleasure to fly with. His flexibility allowed me to rent the plane and fly my family to the First Flight memorial. Thanks Brandon!

School is the best in the area. Part 141 GI bill certified. Im currently getting my IFR/commerical license here

We had a great scenic flight with Aaron. This is a fantastic way to see Shackeford Banks and Cape Lookout.

Great Flight school with lots of airplanes in good conditions. The staff and the instructors are very friendly and competent. Try it out!

Communication is very poor with little to no follow up after any request for information. It is very frustrating and disappointing after three attempts to begin the process of becoming a student. Unfortunate that Tradewind Aviation accepts the GI Bill for veterans yet they have no customer service or desire to provide assistance. I was forced to go elsewhere
