Dont stress yourself is not the appropriate response for an adult whose paid for a course and only gets computer glitches, audio messages and answering machines. Dont try calling unless you are trying to register. All other calls go to a voice message that says we are open ... and the regular business hours are..... When someone else is frustrated or cant answer the question, is unable to respond for lack of knowledge, lack of concern or something inconceivable like you are not the only student responds with you are not the only student.....Its time for refund. And tech support is out of the question. Giving instructions repetitiously is kindergarten sophomoric and would tend to reflect that someone does not know what they are doing. Once I was amused and then I was angry. That only lasted a moment. I am searching for another school or design institution that might have the capacity to teach and not make excuses when they dont have the answers. I am searching for another school or design institution that might answer the phone when you are not trying to register for another class. THIS HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. I would strongly urge anyone to read the reviews before you register..Read the reviews before you commit to spending money or a service you are not getting. But I can agree with one thing the student adviser said! You are not my only student....Heaven forbid if that was the only instructor. Just a piece of advise. Review the schools before you pay the money.

DO NOT RECOMMENDED NYIAD. DO NOT PAY FOR A COURSE THAT YOU MIGHT NEED TO BACK OUT ON. I PAID THEM UP FRONT AND CANCELLED MY COURSE IN TIME TO RECEIVE MY partial REFUND CHECK. THEY SAID 4-6 WEEKS, GOES BY AND NOTHING COMES. CONTACTED THEM AGAIN AND RUDELY SAID IT CAN TAKE UP TO 9 WEEKS WITH NO HOLIDAYS IN THE MONTHS AND THAT THEY HAVE NO TRACKING INFORMATION. REGULAR MAIL OR STANDARD DOES NOT TAKE 10 WEEKS OR MORE!! I send checks out in different states with no issues and no longer than a month. IM GOING ON 10 WEEKS AND STILL NOTHING. I WILL BE GETTING A COUPLE OF STUDENTS TOGETHER AND SUE THEM IF THEY CANT COMPLY.

This is a very outdated course. Some of the material is 20 years old. It it’s very hard to navigate. You will not be able to do it on your phone. It is very disappointing.

My sister just completed the Jewelry Design Course and received her Certificate of graduation June 17th, 2019. This course turned out to be tough and required learning a lot of technique. NYIAD staff were very supportive along her 18 month journey helping her at every corner. They shipped the course materials and replied to emails in a timely manner. The course itself is well designed. They start you with learning theory and technique in level 1, and by the time you reach level 6 you have an Online Store, Your own designer line of Handmade Fashion Jewelry, A Logo, and you learn how to take professional grade photos of your work.On a separate note, we had one incident over the holidays (November 2018) where my sister submitted a section for grading and it took them 60 days and a few email follow-ups to get it done. They did explain to us that grading is left to instructors and they do that at their own pace, however they did agree that anything over 30 days was not acceptable. In the grand scheme of things, that is just one incident out of 6 different submissions and everything else went smooth.NYIAD deserves their 5 Stars.. We will refer friends to them in a heart beat

I started the Graphic Design certification and was very unhappy with it, so I contacted NYIAD and told them I wanted to cancel, and asked if I could get some kind of refund since it was a complete waste of time and money. I was told in March that the refund check was sent out, but I never received it. Its now the middle of May and I havent gotten any kind of update except Were tracking your refund check and well get back to you when we hear something. I dont recommend this school at all because their customer service is horrible and so far, theyre thieves.

I was ready to enroll until I spoke with their sales rep. Terrible attitude, tone, and not at all helpful. I cant imagine what the courses will be like if their staff is rude and unprofessional. Definitely NOT enrolling now nor recommending NYIAD to anyone.

It was the worst investment of my money. I took style course, had to cancel it after couple months. No proper communication from teachers and advisors, it seems like a group of students checking your projects, that don’t have education. They don’t even have the building. Got insulted couple times. Really frustrating and doesn’t worth a penny. Whoever wants to do the courses from them- don’t waste your money.

I was really interested in an opportunity to take a course from NYIAD! However, I continued to review the course as well as the tuition. I have noticed that when they offer a discount, they increase their tuition. For an example in April NYIAD stated the tuition was $849 with a discount of $250 and your Pay in Full amount was $699 as printed per NYIAD. This is the first discrepancy - $699 $250 = $949 not $849! Today, they are currently offering a $500 discount off the Pay in Full amount and the tuition has increased to $1099 with a balance of $599. When I spoke to the Admission Rep it was stated that both prices was without the certification. My only concern is the lack of consistency in their tuition and transparency! Therefore, in reality are you really getting a discount 🤔!

Its a good college, I like it so far. Im getting my Certificate in Event Planning. I enjoyed this course. The modules make it easy to follow at your own pace. I like how each module is set up, and how they dont have a late fee if you are late paying. I cant wait to receive my certificate and put it to good use.

My first impressions with NYIAD for Interior Design have been very pleasant. So far there havent been any issues between communication and my first inquiry was taken seriously. My questions have been answered in a timely manner and my material has been mailed and received quickly. The work Im doing is fairly challenging and I have been really getting me focused on my time management skills since Im doing this while working full time. Ive been able to accomplish 3 units within 3 months of being signed up.Pros: Self paced, affordable price, easy to navigate website, excellent intellectual material, a great way to test your knowledge and push yourself outside of your comfort zone, a great way to transition into a different field without a graduate degree, and its been rewarding submitting projects and getting good grades because its very time consuming. Course material is included in tuition. A great way to learn something new!Cons: Can be very challenging If you dont have 4-8 hours a week/bi weekly to dedicate to drawing and painting, course work has to be re-read many times before you can digest what has been written and expected of you in the project. The way the information is presented is tedious because you have to keep going to a new page after 1-3 paragraphs so its easy to loose track while going from page to page. The videos are impersonal and way to long. There should absolutely be online quizzes after each section of a unit instead of the furniture quizzes that we mail, its very mundane. The instructor or instructors ( Im under the impression its just one instructor) is very impersonal with the videos and provides feedback via voice memo so you have to re-listen to it 10-15 times to make you make all the changes she requests. It would be more logical to have the feedback in an email where you can check off which has been completed or not. Mailing process is also time consuming between the window of mailing out, grading, and returning, but thats the cost of online schooling.Over all, Im really enjoying this challenge right now, and if you have the time and the need for a career change, I would highly recommend! There is always room for improvement in everything we do in life and small changes will help future student learn better.

I would not recommend the Interior Design course as it didnt provide me with the fundamentals to work or just have a hobby in the interior design field. There are many typos and mistakes throughout the course and very old/horrible illustrations, making the content look unprofessional and not relevant anymore.Instead, I recommend to select a school where you can meet instructors in person and if you cant, just buy a book... Your money will be better spent.

They have a new special every week on their tuition. It can vary widely. A week ago the class I wanted was $649. This week it is $849. Next week it will be $799 according to the person I talked to. It is a shell game.
