All the teachers, male and female, are fantastically talented and caring; rigorous and honest, yet supportive; and easy on the eyes to boot (am I allowed to say that???). Space is sun-drenched, beautiful and clean. Plus, the other students are committed and a joy to dance with in the group classes and practice parties. Its a super fun community to become a part of.

Arthur Murray Dance Center is wonderful! From the moment I entered the building, all the staff and teachers were so friendly, charming, and professional. We came in as brand new ballroom dancers who needed to learn from scratch for our daughters wedding. We are taught by an alternating male and female instructor every other lesson and both are fantastic! In barely 4 weeks, we were fully prepared and confident to go out on the dance floor for a variety of dances, albeit using basic steps at this stage of our learning. The atmosphere is extremely friendly and supportive and one gets warm greetings every time from a number of the staff who all get to know you, not just your two instructors. In addition to paid lessons, there are free classes every day of the week one can attend, as many of as you want. My wife and I enthusiastically recommend Arthur Murray!

I love the intimacy and congeniality of this studio. It felt like a big happy family. I found a teacher that I love to work with, but actually there are a variety of styles and personalities and someone for everyone. The organized workshops and shows are a great idea and helped create this great atmosphere. Great job!

When I first came to this studio, the teachers and receptions made me feel as I belong here. This friendliness has made me feel comfortable as a beginner dancer. The staff here works as enthusiastic and creative team. Creative artistic process is always in the air. I see teachers practicing, other students of all levels practicing - that combined with my own lessons keep me motivated to keep my practice consistent. This studio has amazing teachers, and they organize many interesting events to keep you motivated and inspired. This studio stands out - the structure of the lessons, the approach and atmosphere are very unique and effective.

This is an amazing studio. The instructors Lauren, Jean Rene and others are awesome. They are professional and fun. They have regular dance parties where you can practice and showcase your routines, and watch others performances. When I was sick and had to take a break from dancing, the studio sent me text messages of encouragement and a beautiful bouquet. Id strongly recommend the studio and the teachers

Arthur Murray on Columbus Ave is amazing! The teachers are outstanding and so supportive, and between private lessons, group classes, and parties, my dancing has progressed enormously. The other student are so friendly yet everyone takes their dancing and performing seriously. The online classes I have taken this past week have also been excellent and so great during this challenging time -- they really are going the extra mile for their students!

My son and I wanted a quick tutorial for a Mother/Son dance at his wedding. We did not have much time, but Lauren accommodated our schedule with two lessons that gave us the needed steps and pattern to comfortably dance to the song I selected. We were extremely happy with Lauren’s instruction and understanding of our goal of simplicity.

My husband and I took classes here together before our wedding, and it was a great time! We learned a lot of dance styles and wowed our guests with our choreographed wedding dance. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have some fun, and learn something new. It was also a great way to bond together during the stress of wedding planning. I needed to prepare for a wedding where there would be dancing. It had been many, many years since I had done any kind of ballroom dancing. The instructor at Arthur Murray was so nice and so comforting. I was able to go to the event very confidently and had a wonderful time!

I attended a dance party at this AM dance studio while on a business trip to NYC. All the staff and students that I met were tremendously kind and friendly. They welcomed me with open arms and made be feel very comfortable from the moment that I walked through their door. I highly recommend this dance studio!

I recently came along with a friend whod purchased some private lessons; these include weekly group practice classes and parties (where everyone can dance with the teachers), plus the ability to bring a friend. I had so much fun - all the teachers are wonderful professional dancers, and extremely friendly & encouraging! New students can buy 2 initial lessons for $60 which is amazing value, as professional lessons anywhere are typically $100 + each.The studio has recently moved to a temp location of Colombus & 83rd St - you can walk past and see dancing in action, so definitely pop by if youre interested at all in learning - this is a great place to start!!

My husband and I originally signed up at Arthur Murray to learn dancing for our wedding, but now we go because of the absolute joy we receive from dancing there. Not only did the instructors choreograph a beautiful wedding dance for us, but they are continuously positive and uplifting. We plan to continue learning from and smiling with the experts at Arthur Murray as long as we can.

We started off using a groupon, and then proceeded to buy a ten pack package. We have been having fun with Andres and Olga, our instructors who switch weekly, and find that we pick up different skills from each. We are in our 50s. We do not have the best rhythm or grace, but are always encouraged by the instructors and staff and have finally mastered a couple of dances where we wont be embarrassed at social events! It has truly proven to be a fun couple activity for us, and we recommend this dance center highly!

I’m an experienced dancer from Chicago. I had a wonderful time here during a free afternoon in NYC, dancing with Anna. I saw other experienced dancer/teachers here that I recognized from the competition circuit. This is the high level of expertise you would expect on Broadway!

The best part is how friendly and helpful everyone is. Add to that you can go to beginner group sessions for free. I think this is a very good place to learn to dance. I encourage you to give it a try.

Had a crash course in Viennese Waltz before a wedding (I know, I know...). By all accounts, we hit it out of the park.Would recommend giving them more than five lessons in two weeks for such a feat, but the results were fantastic given the last minute urgency.

I really enjoy the coaching you get from these professionals. The do a good job with teaching techniques along with fundamentals. They also do a good job of polishing your dance even for advanced students like myself.

I love the place and the instructors. The sapce was a bit tight sometimes for the volume of students and dancers. However it was always accomodating and the spirit was enhaced by the fun and attitude of the instructors.All the dancers were highly qualified and I enjoyed my experience.

We took lessons for our wedding with Lexi and she was excellent. She was always very enthusiastic and energized, and made us feel very comfortable.

Highly skilled staff, awesome studio and great community of dance enthusiasts! Ive been going to this studio since May when the new owner took over. I started dancing 2.5 years ago as a form of exercise and to learn a new social skill. I now cannot think of a single day without dancing. Mostly, I have my teacher, Esther, to thank for my love of dancing. She is just incredible. Ive also taken lessons from other teachers here and, in my view, they are all great. Of course they have different styles and strengths, so best is letting them know what you want so they can pair you with the right teacher. The new owner, Aleks, has been trying to build a strong team whose members complement each other. And, so far, hes done a great job! Mainly, their enthusiasm in teaching dance and their genuine care in each students progress is off the charts. The studio hold parties and several group lessons every week so we, as students, get to interact with each other frequently. It is a very accepting and fun-oriented group of people. It truly feels like a small, happy dance family. I recommend it highly to everyone!!!

Wonderful dancing school. My wife and I have been taking lessons here for about half a year; the teachers are all friendly and competent, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We had little prior experience with or natural aptitude for dancing but they make us feel very comfortable here.

I am having a great experience working with my Instructors Yurgen and Crystal. They explain the movements very well and are eager to teach proper foot placements, etc. The staff is great, the location is ideal and the atmosphere is very friendly. On Columbus Avenue between 79th & 86th Streets via bus & the # 1 train.

Fabulous team of great instructors! They will get you dancing in no time. Ballroom, Salsa, Swing, Argentine Tango or special event. Everybody is super nice and fun!

Arthur Murray is a wonderful experience. They know how to teach and they care.

Its about money here, not dancing. It costs about twice the price of other studios, many of which have better teachers. They just try to make you feel good about yourself and squeeze as much money out of you as possible. We came from another Arthur Murray studio, and both studios told us we were welcome to attend group lessons in NY (while taking privates only in our other studio). They constantly tried to sell us their expensive private lessons in NY too (one instructor in a group lesson even ignored other students to try to convince us to buy more privates), and after we didnt bite for a few times they changed their mind and told us we werent welcome at their group lessons. Were now paying half the price for more serious lessons at a studio that isnt all about selling and bullshit.
