Its by far the best medical system Ive ever experienced. Its run in such a respectful, kind and efficient way. No one waits very long at all, and the dentists and students all take such care and are so thorough. My student dentist, Stephen Ling, was the best Ive ever had. Dont hesitate to go here. Its a very good feeling to have helped them as they help you and you get many more eyes and loads of experience applied to your problem. Amazing!!

This place is amazing, it’s clean, and the student doctors are very respectful. I see the same student doctor for every visit, and she is very patient with me, and explains things very thoroughly. The only concern I have is the main office, 1A (I think), line becomes very long and is unorganized, sometimes the line blocks the exit. I understand we are trying live around covid, but there has to be a better way to keep people and lines organized.

Truly amazing experience. Was absolutely surprised by the treatment I received. From the level of care and professionalism to the faculty overseeing all the work being done, everything felt top notch. People always say that no one likes going to the dentist. Well, that saying just aint so for me. I just had a 6.5 hour procedure at NYU with two adorable student dentists and a really wonderful professor, and it was a truly lovely experience. All of my experiences at NYU are wonderful. The students are so excited; the professors are very knowledgeable; and the advice you get is the best possible advice without any monetary incentives. The prices are ridiculously affordable for anyone without dental insurance. YES, it takes a LOT longer to get, say, a cleaning than at a regular dentist, because your student needs to get a professor to come check over her work and clear her to do more, but its all worth it. You feel individual and paid attention to, rather than just another dollar sign walking into a dental office in New York. I go out of my way, and spend extra time, because I love being there and I love how well I am treated!

The staff here are the best. They work hard and are very detail oriented. The place is super clean and Ive been well taken care of. I was misdiagnosed a few years ago at Cornell Weil where they only took a panoramic x ray and I was sent off with a months worth of painkillers, etc. but not treated - I had an infection (which they said I didnt have after I told them I thought I did) and needed to have my molar tooth taken out - I had a feeling I was misdiagnosed so, unfortunately by the time I came to NYU College of Dentistry, I was in tremendous pain. They took excellent care of me and addressed all of the issues I was having. This time I came in again, for a periodontal consultation and again, the periodontist found something on the x-ray that is not a panoramic x-ray which is going to be addressed. I highly recommend NYU College of Dentistry, not to mention the fact that they charge less than any other places Ive been to. The students are monitored and not left on their own to do the work so theres always a higher supervisor/practitioner involved. I trust these people implicitly.

Amazing dental care within the NYC public health system. You must have patience at first before they take you on as a patient but the care is amazing. Every student dentist has made me feel comfortable and the overseeing professors make sure everything is done ok before you walk out.I have only had positive experiences here -- deep cleaning, cavity fillings, old cavity replacements -- seems like all the work and advice will help prevent bigger dental issues in the future...remains to be seen 🤷🏻‍♀️😁

Dental students doing actual dental work on the public, at a slightly more affordable level. However, I would beware of some obvious red flags concerning this risky proposition... Young, unexperienced dental STUDENTS are the ones who will be going to work on your ONLY SET of pearly whites. Yes I do believe however, that these students professors DO usually monitor the majority of their work and are physically present in order to make sure nothing goes awry! I just think this isnt going to be something I can comfortably recommend to ANYONE... unless of course, you are broke but extremely desperate or in DIRE NEED of dental work, due to health issues/emergencies. Even then however, its hard for me to recommend this to anybody. Youre only gonna have 1 set of teeth in this life. You should be willing to care for them with great consideration and the utmost highest of quality.

Residents came and checked my problem. Told them my medical history. Seemed to me they never heard the name of my heart disease. They went to the doctor and came back to me every 30/40 minutes to ask me about my medicines and other medical history. Kept doing it untill 3:30. I fall asleep twice on that really uncomfortable chair. Finally they came to me with a paper to ask my doctor few things before they can take any action. Meanwhile I was suggested to take Tylenol. American health system is really broke. All these hospitals are strictly business. Without better insurance doctors are not really interested to check you out. Really getting frustrated about the system. Health insurance is a scam and pharmaceuticals are evil in all aspect.

Pediatric dentistry doesn’t answer their phones. They see your child has an emergency for special care like the orthodontist and they tell you they will call you with an appointment but never do. Save your time and whatever patience you have left and find somewhere that dentist care. Find where they answer phones and schedule appointments not ignore your child’s needs.

I am giving one star since the care was world class but that is of little help when one cannot reach anyone for follow up care. You are given the dentist number to text for follow up...pointless twice. Daily calls to reception are met with a voicemail that is unanswered, 3 times. Again, the care is world class, but the dignity that you are treated with post care recalls what is expected from Medicaid level dentist, a complete disinterest in the person that is the patient. I shudder to consider those without insurance for whom this is the only available option. The aftercare show zero respect for what must be already marginalized patients. Do better.

Student dentist at this facility need to learn how to better explain things to patients, so we have a well in depth understanding of their diagnosis and the treatment they want to proceed with. I came with an issue on one tooth, and they found/treated an issue on a different tooth, without making it clear to me what tooth they were going to treat. Patients aren’t expected to know the difference between a decay and a fracture. Patients also are not familiar with the names of each tooth, so when using dental terminology to relate information to us, perhaps get a mirror, have us open our mouths and POINT to the tooth you’re referring to. Grade A care is ensuring you patient is provided with sufficient knowledge and information, so they could make a well informed decision concerning their dental matter. The tooth I specifically went in for still hasn’t been treated. Do better!

Let me first say I don’t like going to dentist or the doctor. So I usually put it off, till I have to most certainly have to go. I am currently uninsured and my insurance doesn’t start till Dec 1st. I woke up with tooth pain earlier this week and thought to myself Tiffany you can wait till December, just suck it up for two more weeks. Because I’m uninsured. I held off the dentist for two days and couldn’t take the pain anymore, so I started looking for an affordable dentist and I came across NYU college of dentistry. I was hesitant about going there because of all the bad reviews but it looked like the only affordable place to go near me. So I went at 9:30am, registered and saw a student dentist. His name was Jordan, he was super helpful and nice. This was in urgent care and he told me I had an infection because of my wisdom tooth and had to remove it. I had this problem before so I knew he was right. He told me we will try to remove it today. In my head I was like wow, that’s super fast and helpful. So I paid $75 to see doctor and $80 for X-ray. Which I think is super affordable compared to other places I saw online. Around 4pm that day I got my tooth pulled by a dentist, not a student because it was infected and a serious case. He pulled my tooth out in less then five minutes and I was his seventh person of the day. He was very gentle and informative. Granted I did had to wait till 4pm but my tooth was pulled the same day. The time in between I went and got lunch. I only paid $200 to pull the tooth. They do make you pay up front for everything, so be prepared for that. The front desk staff and students/dentist were all nice and I would go there again.

No culture is more fixated on teeth than Americans. We will spend thousands of dollars for the perfect smile without blinking an eye. And if you werent graced with a perfect smile naturally, you will become a social pariah if you cant come up with the dough.I had congenitally missing eye teeth. Once my baby teeth fell out and there was nothing to replace them, I was in for an entire adolescence of awkwardness. Im glad I put it off for so long because as I waited, implant technology grew and became the absolutely best way to replace missing teeth. If you are in desperate need of them, NYU Dental is a great place to get implants.Since I put everything off for so long, I was in need of braces yet again. Thank God for my Flexible Spending Account. Having money deducted from my paycheck over the course of a year was the most painless way to do it. Despite that program, I was still in need of the most low cost and reliable option available. New York University College of Dentistry hit both criteria.Highly supervised, crazy thorough, and super clean, a dental school is the way to go. They wrap everything in plastic. Every switch, every button, every chair.A routine exam will include a blood pressure check and a full medical history questionnaire, so be prepared for multiple visits. If youre lucky youll get a student dentist right at the sweet spot of having at the very least a year under their belt, but not too close to graduating so you can get them one more time before they go. Depending on the procedure, youre going to be getting more experienced students regardless. My one molar implant was more forgiving of inexperience than the two in the front. Thats why front implants cost more. Because its a school, you do have to be a bit tolerant of errors. I had to have the molar redone (for free of course) and its perfect now. We both learned from the experience.Between braces, whitening, and 3 implants, I hit my Flexible Spending account for a total of 10K over the course of three years. Doesnt sound very cheap but given the alternatives, it very well is.So dont ask me why I smile so much. I paid a pretty penny for the privilege. :D

Poor experience. Definitely students afraid to get in trouble, still learning. Not worth the wait in urgent care—3 hours+. Student did not tell me the price in the beginning per my request. And later I definitely heard incorrectly the rate. My procedure was simple so she thought it might be included in initial $75 rate but she thought incorrectly. I was charged even more. The temporary filling is not much in material cost (since labor is kinda “free”... the students need real life practice). Either way, I learned that my time and aggravation is worth more than the $150 spent for temporary fillings. Another $400 (even discounted!) for actual dentist to complete. HOT TIP: go to Mexico. I just got xrays, cleaning, 2 little cavities fixed for $150 total. Then it would be a “productive” vacation.

Its great to help me get caught up on those icky places. Im almost done with my second implant and am excited to be chewing food on both sides again soon. The first one feels so strong that I cant even feel which one it is. Its a busy place, but you will be taken good care of. Very responsive and proactive atmosphere. I was recommended by a coworker to come here, after having troubles finding an endodondist who would do a root canal on my difficult case and my insurance.I cant say enough nice things about the entire practice, short wait, clean office. Very accommodating to my work schedule, Dr.Huh, is the sweetest nicest, most patient doctor Ive ever met, she explained the process clearly, and was so gentle, I was never in pain. I came in with a dead discolored front tooth that Ive have had for yrs, and came out with a bright white smile that I be longing for! Thank you, thank you! She will be my doctor for life, what a change it has made, my confidence went up!go to Dr.Huh!

Super clean office/cubicles. Professional staff doctors and students. I think the one main good thing about NYU is that they have a large space good amount of student dentists at any time so you dont have to wait as long for an appointment if youre having an emergency you could walk in that day and get it done so thats really the draw for me.

I’ve been coming to NYU dental almost 9 months. It took almost 4 months to do root canals on one tooth and my general dentist Samavia Ahmed was extremely unprofessional. She has changed the treatment plan over 4 times. We had so many misunderstandings between doctors every time she changed the plan. I’ve visited different 4 departments only tooth removal took me 2 appointments and doctor Rubinstein was very professional and caring. Others including 2,5 and 6 floors was rude especially root canal department. Black guy on the front desk was so annoying making things very slow and always try not to check you in on time. Additionally, when I had emergency and arrived at 8.45 am manager (who’s in the back room another black guy with African accent) refused to give me any help. I waited 2 hours and couldn’t get any pills or help. In the waiting room was only 3 people before me, but they told me they have another 7 people who called and they are coming. It was so unfair. I left NYU with big tears and both black manager and black guy on the front desk were very happy to see me in that condition. Terrible experience. I couldn’t even talk because of pain but they had fun over me. Terrible place! Need to train all those people. Customer service 0!!!

I have used this service for over 20 years and had major dental work done here. Student dentists are very profession, well trained and closely supervised. The work is excellent and the charges are far below private dentists. The only drawback is that it is time consuming because student work is supervised at every step, as it should be. If you have the time, this is the place to go.
