Its an hard working school with staff who cares about the kids. Is it perfect no, no school is perfect its impossible. Whether its charter, private, catholic or special needs none of them are perfect. But HVA is one of the hard working ones. My niece went, my Daughter is currently there and soon next year my nephew, both my niece and daughter are honor role students. Parents who dont build a relationship with the school and staff dont know the truth. Get involve and help improve the school instead of complaining. Ms Badillo is an amazing social worker and works closely with parents. She helps all the children in the building without complain. She goes out of her way for the kids., celebrate their birthdays and other things. They have family paint nights, musicals, band/chores performances, dance recitals and art shows. So try your luck and apply for the school.

The worst school ever. I am currently looking for another school for my son to go to. They really don’t know how to handle African American children mainly the boys. They are quick to label your child and suggest medication for them. Especially Ms. Badilio. She sent my son to the emergency room and was smiling and laughing when my son was escorted to the ambulance. I lost all trust in HVA and the staff that works there. Hopefully my son can get into another school and I can update you on his progress. They don’t know nothing about African Americans families and they don’t know how to handle African Americans boys.

I’ve lived by this school most of my life, dnt put your kids here, the programs and whatever they offer seems nice but its definitely not an ideal place to have a child go everyday to.

Horrible school, the staff show extreme nonchalance towards the childrens safety.

My child went to this school he gets in trouble for fighting back and he gets in trouble for laughing and they took his test away when he went to the bathroom during a test

The school has cronyism and favoritism with some parents cover their lack of responsibility with the same situation that you live, do not accept his mistake and create an impotence as a parent, making a hostile place to live that only it makes the father fight including no solution.
