Everyones expectation/standard/level are different. No application, no emphasis for Kua/Qi flow/Dan tien/Bai hui/Yong Quan.Essentials are missing, only movements. To grasp the whole concept, students better go with the whole forms first, it doesnt matter they remember or not, there should be Qi flow.Exploring different schools is not a bad idea, you only evolve.Movements should be flowing with correctness but the Spirit has to be martial, no ego should be involved in true martial art. Tai Chi Qian is high level of martial art and each and every movement/form has critical application.Hard to find true master in NYC but it is possible also.Same energies gather together. To many this is the right place.

If you want a martial art form that you could continue well into the old age and without the blood and bruise of the most kungfu styles, H Won Tai Chi is for you. Here you will learn the authentic Yang style as passed down through the family, train in the rare opportunity of pushing hands with an amusing master/teacher, and develop the highly sought after internal power. The training will be long and arduous, but patience and perseverance will pay off. Such as I, having studied in the school for 16 years and feeling the strength continuously developing inside of me, I can honestly say it was well worth it.如果你想学习真正的太极拳就来这里。金师傅是杨家太极拳的第六代嫡传,内功深厚。你能学到杨家的挙法刀法枪法剑法以及快拳和双人套路。而且能练上内功及其的使用。这是你明智的选择。

7 years ago i was sent to Sifu Kim to align my mind, body and spirit. Since then i have gained so much more than i could have ever imagined. Cultivating and gaining the true INTERNAL POWER of Tai Chi Chuan and finding a real master in a sea of imitators was a dream come true. Old school training as it was always intended to be...hard work pays off to those that are willing to put in the time!!!

Sifu Gim is an official direct disciple leading back to the Yang Family Classical Tai Chi Chuan. This is authentic Tai Chi!Here one has the rareopportunity to learn real Tai Chi power for martial art or health. Not only does Sifu Gim has the knowledge and skill of the Yang Family Classical Tai Chi, i find his teaching skill excellent. He is able to articulate clearly, break down concepts and techniques so that you can learn and absorb the material in an efficient manner.Sifu in addition to his base in New York city also teaches lessons in Europe, Korea and Toronto. These are not one off workshops, but are ongoing lessons.I highly recommend this school.

In 2012 I decided to learn Martil Arts. What attracted me to Classical Yang Tai Chi Chuan is the famous internal power.I reviewed many websites and watched youtube videos searching for someone who knew how teach it.As I read through Sifu Gims website I instantly knew that thats who I wanted to learn from.Sifu Gim is the second disciple of Grandmaster Gin-Soon Chu, who is the second disciple of Grandmaster Yang, Sau-Chung, and Grandmaster Yang, Sau-Chung is the eldest son of Yang, Cheng-Fu. In terms of information, a disciple would have a lot more knowledge of the curriculum than a non-disciple.He can also cohrently explain the principles of Classical Yang Tai Chi Chuan and demonstrate them as well. He pays attention to the details. When he corrects us, the intention is to also teach us about the principles of the movement.Learning Classical Yang Tai Chi Chuan takes dedication. Its not something you can easily buy off the shelf in a supermarket. The dedication pays off in many different ways. For instance, you learn how to relax your mind and relax your body while at the same time transforming your energy into internal power. Of course all of what you learn translates into other areas of your life. Imagine being in a situation where being relaxed, while at the same time centered and balanced, can really help you.If you have the desire to be doing Tai Chi Chuan ... then this is the place to be doing itIf you have the desire to put in the time to train ... then this is the place to be doing itwelcome...The other day a friend asked me has it been worth it and the answer I gave him was absolutely yes. Somehow I just know that Im heading in the right direction.

I studied Tai Chi Chuan in my 20s under different instructors, and while I learned the forms and did push hand training, I felt something was missing. Im so happy that I kept searching until I found Sifu Gim, and the search is over. What makes Sifu Gim a great teacher is that he is knowledgeable of the internal power and manifests it in manners that are unbelievable to a passerby. He also helps us develop this internal power through continuous training. There is only so much that can be explained here, really come experience and feel the internal power!

This school teaches Tai Chi Chuan in its purest and most traditional form. If youre looking to learn internal martial arts in New York City, look no further than Sifu Gim. Despite Tai Chis popularity there are exceedingly few masters who truly know and practice this profound martial art with its original intent and curriculum. Developing internal power is a long, subtle and demanding path but under Sifu Gims direction you will gradually but surely cultivate it - even people like me who struggled for years to develop the energy using other methods before discovering this school. Be prepared - this path requires lengthy practice, extreme precision, and a strong will. But the the rewards to your health, power, and spirit will be endless. This school represents a rare, precious opportunity to study under a direct lineage holder and bona fide master of the legendary Yang family style of Tai Chi Chuan.

This school follows the Classical Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan lineage and uses traditional teachings to build as well as refine one’s internal energy. This internal strength lends to practical applications inside/outside the school and throughout life. Having studied under various forms of martial arts (taekwondo, shaolin kung fu, etc.), I have never felt stronger than I do now. Sifu Gim is an extraordinary Master and the students are a great group that learn and develop as a family.

What can I expect? What is it that you guys are doing here? Whats with all that screaming? These are questions prospect students always ask when they come into the school to check us out.You can expect to either love or hate our Tai Chi Chuan, there is no middle ground. You will spend 3-6 months learning the form. And by that, I mean coming into class and learning a little bit of the form each week, and you will do nothing else with your class time but what little you know. You will do it over and over and over and over again, day after day, week after week. To some of you, this will be very boring and you will quit. Those who stayed are beginning to understand: its all about perfecting the form. After learning the form, you will begin to refine your energy through push-hand exercises. We know were refining your energy, but you wont know a thing. You will spend the next year or so in total darkness. You wont know what you are doing and you will have no idea where you are going. Many people leave at this stage too.For those whove persevered, there is a reward...a grand reward. It comes one day out of nowhere; the principles youve been taught, the training you have endured, they will cause a spark, a light for you to follow. Youve figured out something. From that moment on, you are one of us, because after what youve found, you will never leave..Our primary goal is to cultivate the energy. It is first and foremost. Everything that we do in class, including punching drills or sword training is designed to teach us how to use our bodies correctly, thus, bringing out the bodys true potential. Our entire curriculum are but a few forms and chi-gong stances, there is no need to learn an endless amount of forms and techniques like in many other schools. The screaming? I quote Liao Waysun from his book, the Tai Chi Classics, page 53, Master Chang San-feng said, the chi must be drummed and vibrated. When Sifu hits our energy, we cant help but to scream. This is where the magic happens and where our school differs from every other (Tai Chi) school you can find that is not within our lineage. This is how energy training has been done in the past and it is how we are doing it now. This is our school, the traditional, Classical Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan.

I started training here in 2014 after checking out other schools in NYC.This is the REAL thing! Sifu Gim, will help you cultivate real martial power. A lot of people claim to know what that is. Feel free to stop by and see for yourself. Were you ever interested in Tai Chi Chuan, but none of the places you visited seemed like what you were looking for? If you are looking for the most authentic form of Yang family Tai Chi Chuan, then come on by.Be warned, theres a lot of hard work ahead and it can be addicting! So if you ever watched a Tai Chi Chuan demonstration and thought is that it? then drop by and check us out.But if you are looking for a soft, relaxing, shut-you-brain-off, no sweat activity.....Please go somewhere else. I promise there will be no hard feelings. This is real kung fu. So come ready to work. This is the REAL thing. If you dont believe me, come on down and see for yourself.

I am a traditional Korean tai chi student.Exercise or martial artsYou can start for health, or start for self-defense.Moreover, if you want to practice tai chi as my public martial artsI think theres almost nothing here except orthodox tai chi.Kim Hyo-won is a full-fledged disciple of the Yangga Taijiquan with a strict tradition that few people have few disciples in a decade. You are currently opening a dojo in New York, and in Korea, you can learn in person at regular seminars. The photo shows Kim Hyo-wons New York Conduit. I am Moon Ha, who has been practicing Orthodox Yang Tai Tai since 2005. There are countless conduits and practitioners in the world called Tai Chi.I have also practiced judo, aikido, boxing and quasi-tai chi since childhood, but I could not quench my thirst for energy and power. Then, Kim Hyo-wons orthodox family tai chiIt was so precious to abandon all the training before that.If you want to feel the power and energy of authentic Tai Chi, which leads to Yang Tai-suns Tai Chi and Tai Jing Yang, please visit us. I am a Korean literary student of Orthodox Yangga Tai Chi. In 2012, I thanked for the first time through the Seoul Club, and I first became a member of the Orthodox Family House Tai Chi. I was exposed to a few different martial arts, but I was able to understand what true INTERNAL POWER was. Due to various misunderstandings, martial arts, Tai Chi, were simply perceived as a gas tank, which is practiced by the elderly and the physically weak. Tai Chi is a thorough practical martial art and the actual training is very painful and as a reward you can have a powerful INTERNAL POWER regardless of gender, build or age. Please try not only Korea but also many people from all over the world.

To join this school was a very lucky decision I made in 2000 during my stay in NYC. Sifu Gim, Classical Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan & Internal Power. To train with Sifu Gim is a unique, very inspiring experience that may change your way of life. That I chose this school in 2000 was very fortunate. Sifu Gim is the epitome of Yangs classic Tai Chi Chuan and inner strength. Training with them is a unique, inspiring experience that can change your life.
