My husband and I have been taking salsa and bachata dance classes for a few months now. It has been a wonderful experience. All the instructors we have encountered are very professional, talented and just down right nice. The classes have allowed us to interact with our fellow student dancers and all have been very nice as well! I have been going to UV Latin Dance Academy for 6 years now, however I have been learning from and training with Uriel and Vera for 7 years. So trust me when I say that they are the best dance instructors in the area. With more than 35 years of dance experience combined, 9 world 1st place trophies 🏆 and placing 3rd at the Blackpool Dance Festival (The Most prestigious dance competition in the world), Uriel and Vera are the epitome of professionalism, dedication, utmost technique and quality instruction. I have attended UV Latin Dance Academy for over 4 years and have completed the entire curriculum. Having been a dancer for over 35 years, training in ballet, ballroom, contemporary, and many other disciplines, I can assure you that this is one of the most well-organized studios I have ever taken class at. Not only are Uri and Vera consummate professionals, but they are amazingly-talented instructors. Yes, they are 9-time World Latin Dance Champions and have won 3rd place at Blackpool (the most prestigious ballroom competition in the world), but they actually know how to teach and how to take their years of knowledge and experience to apply it in the classroom. I appreciate the methodology of the Academy, as it has a set curriculum and syllabi for each level to ensure students progress in a thoughtful manner to feel confident about their dancing. I have watched fellow students start in Level 1 and progress through the levels to become wonderful, intelligent dancers. Not only do they know the moves, but they understand the dynamics of how to piece moves together, how to make sure their partner is comfortable, and the etiquette of social dancing. UV Latin Dance is a great studio that gives students such personal attention to detail, especially from the male co-owner. He is willing to give you one-on-one attention and to accommodate you for private lessons, whether its in his studio or in his bedroom. I would say its special attention, but the good news is, he is this flexible with most of his female students. Fantastic for female students who are looking for professionalism but something fun. His co-owner is equally as accommodating and encourages his private lesson experiences with students. Cant say enough things, must try at least once.

Consistency is #1 at this studio, and nobody does it better than the male studio co-owner! His dedication to the personal progress of his female students both inside and passionately outside of the studio is expected and true to type of this level of professionalism. This persistent dedication isnt new, in fact, his consistency has been unchanging for years, and its almost safe to say hes showing that same dedicated passion to female students right now! Fully recommend if you like building a community of female students working all on the same project.

I moved to Miami back in October 2019 and I cannot say enough great things about UV. Everyone always kind and made me feel right at home (both the instructors and students) despite being new to the area. This is also one of the most well-structured and organized dance schools I have seen. Ive always really liked how the curriculum builds upon itself and is broken down into 9 full levels. For a goal-oriented person like myself, this gives me clear-cut short, medium, and long-term objectives, while also being succinct enough for me to absorb each levels material.

My interest in learning salsa grew when I went out with friends one night but didn’t know of a dance school near me. Luckily, I met an instructor from UV Latin Dance Academy and the rest is history. It’s conveniently located, Uri and Vera and the instructors love what they do and their passion to teach with quality shows in their curriculum. Everything is built so that you can be the best dancer you can be, from dancing socially to competing. I started knowing nothing and was able to grow and learn and get to levels I never thought I could get to, even being able to perform in a showcase! The staff is great and all levels are welcomed. Well... to begin with, I am not spring chicken, do not have great understanding of music and started dancing 6 years ago ( in my 50th)...as such, I choose my teachers carefully, based on various criteria such as professionalism, patience, ability to listen ( I got an accent), ability to explain the move in detail ( my mind works in numbers), repeating seemingly easything differently, etc...I should say that UV got all that: high level professionals, tireless educators with great attention to detail, ability to give confidence not to put down but elevate. Every time I come, I am greeted with smile; the place projects happy inviting attitude from office manager, students and teachers.I also would like to mention that the studio implemented various measures to keep everyone safe: class registration, partner assignment, masks mandatory, etc.I am wholeheartedly recommending this studio as the best in the area for all dancer levels.

This is the Best dance school I have been to. The instructors are very specific on the details of the steps, so you learn the moves the correct way. I havent seen such detail in any other school that Ive been to. Vera, Uri and each and every instructor at UV are excelent! My time at UV Latin Dance has been nothing short of incredible. This school is amazing. Ive been to 3 different schools and this one won me over. Vera is amazing, shes co-owner and teaches the entry level class. Uriel is great too, gives great lessons and feedback to the guys. Then you have all of the other amazing instructors like Ralph, Leah, Silenia, Talia and much more. Ive been coming here for about 6 months now and Im moving up through the levels at a good pace. During the weekends they have social dancing that reinforces what you learned. The human quality of its staff, the high level of its teachers, the way they treated me, and the incredible space they have (an authentic dance hall with huge mirrors and an incredible floor) all this made me delighted with the school! I started dancing about 10 years ago, and been at 4 different studios, different styles, different strengths and weaknesses. Tried UV because they were offering Cha-Cha, and hooked now for the last three years! UV is wonderful, it fosters a spirit cameraderie not just with the instructors, but also between the students, and that is rare. Im dating myself, but feels like Cheers (everybody knows your name!). Hats off them for keeping us on track, welcoming us back everytime we slip, and motivating us to strive for excellence

Worst school ever. The owner lady is very rude. Their instructors say one thing and she says another. She pulled me out of a level 2 class in front of everyone and told me that I couldn’t attend it since I am on level1, where as her instructors told me you could stay for level 2. When I told her that she could have told me this after the class instead of pulling me out in front of everyone she said you embarrassed yourself by being in level 2. No professionalism at all.For the refund, I deserved the complete refund not some partial because I didn’t create the situation, the owner created the situation for me in which I didn’t want to come to this school anymore. If I go to another school I have to pay the whole fees again. The classes I took before are useless for me since my continuity has broken. All the great knowledge the owner talks about following the process is nowhere mentioned. I have no issue with attending the level 1 class before level 2 or following the process, but to insult me by pulling me out in front of the class and asking me to leave was completely unacceptable for me, either I should have been told before I started the class or she should have let me finish the class. She infact threatened to bring the other instructor to be physical with me which is when I left the studio. And I am entitled to share my experience.The vicious comments below from the owner against a student who just attended a wrong class is evident in itself that it’s just an evil person.

I met Vera & Uri a few yrs ago at a salsa convention in my home country of Trinidad & they were made an impression on me. So friendly & knowledgeable and talented, I knew that when I moved to Sf I wanted to attend thier school. When I finally moved to Sf I joined their Academy & I was not disappointed. Excellent teachers I learned so much & it isnt just a school its a family. They make it a point to do activities outside of dancing at least once a month with thier students so we all can bond outside of dancing and include other members of the family that dont dance. If I could them 100 stars I would . You will not regret joining thier academy whether u never danced or been social dancing for years or a dancer for years they will help u take your dancing to the next level .

As a beginner to salsa dancing (and having 2 left feet), I never thought I would be able to learn it, but Uri and Vera are such expert instructors/teachers that they have made it easy for me! Not only am I now dancing well, but the whole experience at UV Latin dance, with their socials and practice parties, has now made me enjoy and love dancing!
