Our little one was picked up one day with what seemed to be two insect bites on his leg. When we brought it to the school administrators and his teacher attention, they all assumed that he was bitten by something while out on the playground. The next day we took him to his Pediatrician and he was prescribed with a topical antibiotic to treat MRSA...from this school. Not to mention, this daycare/preschool is very careless and unorganized! On more than two documented occasions, our little one was sent home with another childs blanket, food, and sippy cup all while these items were labeled with the childs name. This last incident occurred again with neither the owner, director, or teacher being able to explain to us exactly what happened to the back of both of his legs. Because of this, we as concerned parents requested to see the surveillance video for our childs classroom. We were told it would take 4 days to fulfill this request (which after given the 4 days, the owner Katia got really rude with us and then said we could not see the video). She then contacted us back and we were able to see the video, however not the entire footage. On the surveillance, the time written on our childs Daily Report versus the time shown on the video of his diaper change was a whole hour and half off from what was written (careless). Early morning drop off 7:30am, first diaper change on his daily report stated 10:00am, on the video it was actually close to 11:30am that they changed a soiled diaper with the poop spilling over into his pants. At the end of viewing the video, the owner Katia said on recording that it was not mandatory for schools to have cameras, per DCF. It was obvious that she took offense to our request because why make that statement?! My question is as a child care provider, whether mandatory or not, why wouldnt you want to have surveillance to protect your establishment and the safety of the kids? And why be rude to concerned parents wanting to know exactly what happened to their child while in your care for 8hrs that neither you, your director, or your teacher(s) could fully detail what happened. This was not to offend any staff there. It was simply to get to the bottom of what happened.Needless to say, we waited for the doors of this school to open and sadly our family did not receive the service we expected and our little one stayed sick, constantly. Since we removed him from this school, he has not been sick one day!
