Two of my sons are currently enrolled here and they are loving their classes. They are constantly learning new things and their teacher Mr. Clay really goes above and beyond to make sure they are where they need to be. I couldn’t be happier. Money well spent without a doubt.

Great place, even better people. Daughter has Karate here twice a week and loves it. Lots of activities throughout the year, and the owner is very engaged, teaching classes often.

I entered a random TaiChi contest from AKKA Karate Olathe on FB in December 2016; holy crap, I actually won! The next month, on a whim, when I told them I wanted to start Karate lessons as well, they didnt laugh at the thought of this almost 60 year old grandma starting a martial arts practice. Fast forward three months. . . . and Im a gold belt! This school is an incredible place. There are entire families practicing here, which tells me of the character and principles, and Ive not met any senior belts yet who have an out of control ego or who arent sincerely willing to help anyone who asks. Many thanks to Amy Leverknight and Wendee Peres for moral support and getting this introvert out of her shell

Tonight I am watching a class. There is a girl growing in leadership teaching a younger one; mimicking the methods of their instructor. There is a boy who was very shy months ago but is now the loudest, more fit, and demonstrating for the class with no reserve. This is a safe place to grow!

My boys have gained so much from going to AKKA Karate. I wanted them to gain confidence and learn self-defense and that is definitely what has happened. The instructors are respectful towards the kids and work hard to help them achieve their goals. Even on the days my kids are feeling a little lazy, I see them smiling once they get in there and get engaged in the fun activities. I wouldnt want to go anywhere else, they are like family!

I do have to say as a parent of a Junior Student (Christopher Schlem), Mr. Ryan Clay, the newest instructor, continues to inspire, educate and occasionally amuse him. Sometimes levity and connection is all it takes to bring a new level to a student-teacher relationship and I believe that Mr.Ryan Clay brings that, especially to the older Juniors and some of the younger adults. Hes an excellent instructor who will only grow with time as he matures into additional belt levels. He honors the lineage of his mother and those who have gone before him.

I could not have asked for a better experience for my son. We have participated in Olathe sports like soccer and T-ball before and had good experiences, but this place, AKKA Karate, has been by far the best thing for our son. The instructors are knowledgeable and caring. I was impressed by the instruction they gave on self-defense, safety, and self-control, in addition to everything else. Well worth the money.

I signed my 3 boys up in 2000 because I wanted them to learn self-discipline and have more confidence. I joined a month later to share the experience. All 3 of my sons achieved the rank of Black Belt. One started at age 6 and earned 6 Black Belts. One earned the rank of 4th degree Black Belt. They all grew to be better men because of AKKA. They also went through the Boy Scout program. That is the 1- 2 punch of character building. I am still a student, teacher and proud member of this fine organization.

Tai Chi: I have learning for approximately one month and can say my balance, strength and flexibility has improved. I would recommend this calming method of exercise for anyone who struggles with chronic pain. You work at your own pace while receiving the benefits that I have already mentioned. Join and be pleased with the outcome!

I can not begin to explain in a review what this school has been for our family. We started about 5 years ago after one of the instructors taught a 6 week class at our elementary school. My oldest daughter and my husband started together (at the time she was 7). We wanted her to build confidence and learn how to defend herself if she ever needed to. Little did we know then, what that would truly mean 4 years down the road at their black belt test.Karate teaches you to strive for little goals to achieve a bigger goal. At each belt you can look back you can see the progress youve made and know that you are better than you were the last time. You are stronger and more confident. You dont have to compete against someone else to in order to get ahead because you are all working for the same goals. You cheer each other on because you have been there before and you know what it felt like...and that builds this incredible family of support. A family that isnt just there for you in class, but goes beyond the mats to support you, celebrate with you, build you up and challenge you to be a better person.Since that time 4 years ago, our entire family of 5 are all taking at least one or more classes at the school (Karate, Storm, Tai Chi, MMA, Fitness Kickboxing and Little Dragons). I cant say enough about all of the instructors. They are humble and knowledgeable. They will challenge you and take time to help when you need it. They are kind but expect our very best. I respect each them and the time they have put into our school and our students.

I decided when both of my daughters were 5 & 6 years old to look into AKKA in Olathe. I felt they needed to learn self defense for their own self confidence and protection as they got older. The following Monday I joined myself not wanting my daughters to try something I wasn’t prepared to do myself. It was an incredible journey for all 3 of us that no one can take away. Keep in mind, the relationships and friends you make will always be there and most of them are Black Belts! Some pretty good company to have!

Student since 1998 -- Have learned more about life and relationships through this medium than any other, so its not only about martial arts. I started with my (then) 5 year old son for something to do together, now he is grown and moved out, but I still attend. Now that Im getting older, the Tai Chi is a new avenue for me, and I am learning things I didnt know existed about martial arts. This is a truly professional school with a large variety of training options. The lead instructor has no other job, this is his life. I see high quality students, participation, and performance that seems absent with some other martial arts schools. This is our home.

AKKA has been a great addition for our son. Offering learning and discipline at the same time is what we were looking for. The instructors have been phenomenal at handling the kids which are all in the same age group but may have different skill levels allowing the kids to not only focus on improvement for themselves, but helping other kids learn too! Mr. Bradberry, Ms. Green and Mr. Clay have all shown their skills and knowledge of the sport which makes us comfortable and inspired that our child will be progressing at a pace they can handle. We enjoy being a part of the AKKA Karate group!

This company has no clue. The first principle of Karate: Never forget: Karate begins and ends with rei (respect). Called on the phone and Travis answered. (Perhaps the same Travis who wrote the glowing review on Google?) Immediately asked to speak with the manager. Travis refused. I asked the managers name. Travis again refused. I asked if the manager was in the store and Travis said he was on another line. Drove to the store and asked to speak with the manager. Travis again refused. Walked two steps past Travis towards the back of the store to find the manager. The manager immediately stepped out of hiding in the back, ran up, and puffed his chest out like he was going to fight me. Really? Hes ready to physically fight because I want to talk with a manager?? I explained that Travis was rude on the phone. The manager said, No he wasnt, I heard him on the phone with you. It was clear that the manager already had his mind made up. So I left. I never even said WHY I wanted to speak with the manager. They had already decided that if I wanted to talk with the manager, then I must be wrong. Apparently, this situation (someone asking for the manager) must happen often. Is this the person you want training your children? (They recently moved to from 540 to 2073 E Santa Fe St, Olathe.)

My six year old grandson has quite a bit of excessive energy and it has met its match at AKKA Olathe. He has learned self discipline and how to exercise self control all the while enjoying it. The school is very welcoming and family oriented. I see the instructors connect with the students giving them confidence. I think that is because they seem to really care about them.

In 1999 I spent almost a year studying at AKKA in midtown. I really enjoyed it but my schedule was too full at the time. I always knew I wanted to return. Now in 2017, I just finished my 4th month. The instruction in Olathe is outstanding. I love the improvements they have made to teaching the system. Its more hands on. Ive got my whole family involved now. Its great to be back.

I have been attending Tai Chi classes at AKKA Karate USA for a few months. I really like the way my instructor Mr. Anthony Williams teaches from not only a meditative perspective but a scientific one, as well. It is very encouraging to learn how the body can respond positively to training in the art of Tai Chi.Plus, I find the historical facts he shares during class to be both interesting and inspiring.

My Name is Fernando Borges and I am a freshmen in college up in Indiana. I started at AKKA under Mr. Williams when I was about 3 years old. After over 10 years in the organization, I cannot think of a better place to grow a persons character, grow a firm foundation, and learn discipline. I was put an an atmosphere of success and unmatched potential. I made a family that reached out to me and I could always reach out to. I was never alone and made some life long connections. Mr. Williams was my main instructor and he was a wise intellectual individual with a vast knowledge on the world. Alongside the individual aspects of growing, I greatly learned how to defend myself and why martial arts are so important to todays society. I was given the opportunity to compete and win titles with them as well as travel to Colorado for myself and my friends. I was able to achieve many goals and continue my life in college thanks to the success I learned at AKKA. They taught me the values of life through martial arts. Success breeds Success. and that is exactly what this organization did for me and will do for your sons and daughters

He will go out of his way to be the kind of man that you can count on in any circumstance. I strongly believe that training at AKKA Karate USA Olathe will be a very profitable experience. I have studied martial arts for the better part of 30 years in various styles. I have had a handful of instructors over my martial arts time. I had the pleasure of training at Olathe AKKA with Anthony Williams for approx 10 years. Where I was able to achieve my 4th degree black belt. Anthony runs his school with great devotion to his students and the art of Chinese kenpo. Not only will you learn of value of self defense. You will become a better version of yourself along the way. Its a great atmosphere to learn with alot of good prople. I really enjoyed my time at the school was a great experience. Its always good to look around when joining a martial arts school. I would recommend you give Olathe AKKA a look and you will find yourself a martial arts home where u can learn in an enviroment that is both positive and constructive Not to mention an effective form of self defense.Chuck

I was a student with AKKA karate Olathe for over a decade; I started my training at the age of 4. They have top notch instructors, each with a decade or more of expierence. The skills Anthony Williams and company distilled in me will be with me for a life time. Anyone looking to be a student of martial arts will not regret setting forth on a path at AKKA Karate Olathe. The moment you obtain your black belt is a moment that no one can ever take away from you; it is a moment you will cherish for the rest of your life.

AKKA Olathe Martial Arts is great for kids, teens, and adults. My family has been associated with AKKA for over 20 years. 2 of my boys started first and received their black belts. Well, I could not let them get one up on me, so I joined. Next was the youngest kido, who started when he was 4 and continues to grow and thrive in the environment AKKA has developed. They believe in values (i.e. Respect, Discipline, Honesty,..), tradition of the style and art, but most of all they believe in each person (the student, the parent, the siblings, everyone who walks through the door and those who support from afar).I would highly recommend everyone try it out. All you have to do is walk through the door.
