Super disappointed and unimpressed with this facility and its staff! I had multiple people recommend this daycare. So, I made an appointment to speak to a representative there about possibly enrolling my children. The appointment was about a week out and I received multiple confirmations and reminders from them regarding the scheduled appointment as it grew closer (even one about an hour before it). Well the time comes for the owner/director to call my husband and I, who had chosen this time so that we could be kid-free and give the meeting our full attention, and no call. Time passes, still no call. So, about 15-20 minutes after the scheduled time, I give them a call... No one answers and their voicemail, which is not professional sounding at all, is full. Interesting... I then send them an email. Still no call. Finally, later that day, the owner, Laurie, calls us. By now we have both kiddos who are demanding things of us, so my husband was unable to speak to Laurie/ listen in for most of the brief call.I was first super disappointed that Laurie was so nonchalant about missing our appointment time. Remember... this is the time their system offered to me... I did not just pick a random time. She briefly mentions that they had teacher training today and thats where she was during our appointment time. I do realize things come up. But, if you were in trainings/meetings already all day that day why offer an appointment then? We could have picked a different day that was not teacher in-service.I explain a little bit about our kids and that we are moving to town. I wait for her to give me her enthusiastic speel about their program and what sets them apart from the other 5+ schools we have spoken to in the area. Nothing... Her attitude was basically like, what do you want to know? I was really thrown off because every single other school I had spoken to the director/staff was super upbeat, enthusiastic, and had plenty of wonderful things to tell me about their program from curriculum to staffing to what sets them apart. This was definitely not the case here. My takeaway from the conversation was: 1) They have a 25 year old facility in an office type or industrial building, 2) Some of their teachers have been there 25 years, 3) We are not allowed in the building and the classroom our little son would be in has cameras but their angle/vision is poor. :-( Also, they dont give a first responder discount like many other schools do. So, they are actually more expensive or equal to most the other schools. Finally, not one mention of the fact that they are a Christian school. As a strong Christian family we had hoped this would be a fundamental part of their program and what really set them apart! At the end of the conversation, I hung up thinking to myself, What am I missing? Why would these people have recommended this place?? It was by far the most disappointing and uncomfortable talk/tour I had had with any school in the Olathe area!!! Needless to say, we are definitely not considering this school for our kids! There are so many awesome schools in the area, Im not sure what anyone sees in this place at all! :-(P.S. - I was a business owner for over 10 years in an industry where my customers were almost exclusively parents (not childcare), an early childhood educator in my younger years, and am now in a field that is highly customer service driven. I was and am shocked to have had this type of interaction/ conversation with someone who is apparently a business owner of 25 years!! Laurie didnt even know the schools pricing off the top of her head! If the roles had been reversed, I would have been extremely apologetic for missing our appointment time and would have been super enthusiastic and had an entire speel ready to give to an interested parent. I would have gone above and beyond to try to turn what started out as a not so good first impression to leaving the parent with no question that my school was the right choice/best option. Afterall, we are talking about the safety, welfare, and happiness of my kids!

I cannot say enough about how much I love Little Wonders. The environment is very welcoming and its clear that the teachers feel like its a family. I was wary about putting my daughter in daycare but she loves it and is always excited to go. I really appreciate the reduced rate for absences and Ive not observed that at other daycare facilities. I have a lot of confidence in the teachers and their mission as caregivers.
