Best gym in the area thus far!!!First of all, great atmosphere; positive energy all around, respectful community, and a devotion for development and growth I have not experienced anywhere else.I moved to central Jersey for school and found a second home in this facility. The coaches are highly skilled and constantly competing. The gym itself is large in size and has everything you could ever need. Matted cage, large mat room, full boxing ring, and a lifting area where strength and conditioning classes take place. classes for both adults and children of any skill level. Highly recommend.

I was a little bit worried about enrolling my daughter because she tends to get anxious easily. When we first walked into class the instructor and the rest of the team made us feel so comfortable all the anxiety went away. These people really care about what they do and go the extra mile for kids enjoy their lesson. I will totally recommend them!

This place is very organized, the coaches over there explain you everything you need to know in each sport. Since I started I lost a lot of weight , definitely the best place to work it out around of great environment and nice people.

Reflecting on 1 year as a Strategic adoptee! There are certain qualities of a training environment that are extremely important to me:-Variety & Scheduling: Theres BJJ, wrestling, kickboxing, boxing, MMA, sparring, grappling for MMA, and strength & conditioning offered in fundamental + advanced levels. Every day of the week, AM & PM. This was huge for my insane schedule. If that doesnt work for your sched, get a new one.- Competitive & accountable atmosphere: There are several people who fight/compete regularly, so it helps keep everyone in the gyms technical skills up. Thats good for whether someone trains just for fun or also to compete. Personally Ive always had a competitive spirit and have done so twice since joining.- Inclusive & tight knit: If you show up, and show up again, and keep showing up, it doesnt matter who you are or why you train— we all have a damn good time together. We train hard here and then hang out off the mats. Beach trainings, bbq, going to watch each others fights. Im GRATEFUL! And I am especially grateful to feel this way as a female.Thank you to my coaches & training partners!

Strategic isn’t just the best place to learn how to craft your skills to the best possible way but also the family and team build that goes with it. Ever since I’ve been going to strategic I’ve only felt welcomed there and I only feel more motivated to go every single time. If you are going to fight or just going to train it’s still by far the best place to go.

Strategic Combat Academy is one of the best MMA gyms Ive ever been to, Ive been a member for about 2-3 years on and off due to work commitments and other obligations. When someone comes up to me and asks me if I know of any good MMA gyms around the area, I always tell them to check out Strategic Combat.To the quality of training, the technical knowledge and experience and coaching quality of the trainers, to the gym equipment, this place has it all. Not only did I reach the physical fitness and skills Ive been wanting to achieve that no other gym could give me, this gym also taught me other great qualities and values that I use in my everyday life. I personally do the one on one training 2-3 times a week with Nestor and billy. The quality of training and attention to highlight my strengths and improve upon my weaknesses are only some of the reasons I keep coming back. Keep it up guys! I have been in the martial arts for over 20 years. I have had the pleasure of working with amazing teachers and athletes. Strategic mma is no exception. The teachers were extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. I never felt uncomfortable working with anyone at strategic combat academy. My only regret is I could no longer train there due to school and moving. Great environment, great people and great training. Highly recommend for lifelong martial art practitioners and beginners.

This is the first gym that I’ve ever been a member of, so I was nervous going into it. However, it really couldn’t have been a better experience. Not only were the staff helpful in showing me the ropes and making me feel welcome, but the others attending classes were always so friendly and willing to help as well. So i’m 4 weeks in now. and i am absolutely hooked. i’ve been to a lot of different gyms, albeit this is the first mma gym. no facility comes close in terms of professionalism and making you feel welcome and at home. all the coaches here are awesome and push you harder than anyone will ever push you. physically and mentally i’m already noticing huge differences in my life compared to when i was doing nothing about a month ago. i’ve always been a fan of mma and my dream is to fight in the ufc, now i’ve found a gym i can call home that will help me make that a reality some day.

I attended Strategic summer/fall of 2018. An adult new to martial arts, I was worried I would enjoy kickboxing. Sensei John, Ness, Ron, and Ryan made learning fun and clear while providing ample workout challenges and goals to shoot for. Classmates were welcoming and made you feel part of the crew right away. Facilities very clean with great equipment. My only regret, I moved away so could no longer attend! But if you live near Sayreville check out Strategic- it’s a place to learn a confidence building skill, get an intense workout, and build lasting friendships.

I Attended Strategic for a year and unfortunately had to leave due to relocation. The trainers are very knowledgeable and welcoming. If you are looking to enter or continue combat sports, this gym is your best bet.

The vibe in Strategic Academy is outstanding. The Staff and Coaches are very welcoming and motivating. Best decision I have made in my life was joining this gym. Management is very friendly and the staff is very knowledgeable. I do personal training with Ryan and have lost 135lbs in 6 months and have developed healthy habits and a healthy mindset when I’m not in the gym at Strategic because of him. Simply put, this gym has all the equipment needed and prices are great. At 24 years old, I’m happy to say I have my life back because of this place and Ryan.

I have been at Strategic for over 5 years now and I enjoy every moment I spend there. It is like family every time I am there. The facility is very clean and the instructors are very knowledgeable. The best thing about this gym is you get what you take from it. You learn and work out at your pace. There isnt anyone pushing you to beyond your limits. I began going to Strategic Combat Academy when I was 14. The next three years I trained there would be some of the most exciting and enjoyable of my life. The first thing youll notice about Strategic is that for such a large gym, everyone there is so hospitable and such a great little family. When I first began training, Coach Hakim would work with me to make sure I was at the same level as everyone else in the class from the get-go. You will never feel like you are behind or that someone else is progressing in skill quicker than you are. From the moment you walk through through those doors, the coaches are already invested in developing YOU into the best fighter you can possibly be. You will not just become a reflection of your coaches styles, but you will be sculpted into an athlete with your own unique style and skill set. Thats the thing about Strategic, even if the gym wasnt as well-equipped and appealing to the eyes as it is, the coaches and trainers are some of the best Ive ever had the opportunity of training with. I still remember Coach Hakim teaching me how to properly cut weight, which helped me improve my performance come wrestling season. Coach Nestor would go above-and-beyond to grind the fundamentals of kicking with me, and stayed committed to improving my footwork even after I consistently made error after error. Coach Billy would spar with me, bringing the intensity down to my skill level, even though the techniques I had been working on at the time were rudimentary when compared to the advanced footwork and movement that came so second-nature to him. I remember times where Coach Ryan would teach me new submissions and sweeps between rolls to the point where I was learning a move a day. The team at Strategic is experienced, genuine and committed to progress more than any gym I have trained at since. Whenever I am in the area, I always take time out to train at Strategic Combat Academy. 5/5.

Signing my daughter up at Strategic Academy was one of the best decisions I have made. The confidence, discipline, and skills she acquired were notable. The instructors, management, and even the other parents are just so friendly it really is a community feel. What can seem to be an intimidating environment actually became a second home. We were very sad to have to leave (we relocated to Florida) Strategic is definitely one of the places we miss most about Jersey. I recommend this place to anyone looking to make a change in their lives, they offer so much more than JUST self defense classes. Can’t thank the Strategic Fam enough!

I absolutely love this place! Its the best gym that i have ever joined. I started at Strategic last summer. Ill admit that I was very nervous going into it. But from day one I was welcomed with open arms. All of the coaches are very friendly and helpful. They like to have fun while getting the job done at the same time. If they see you struggling with a certain skill, theyll come over and work with you one-on-one until you understand. There is a reason this place has 5 stars across the board. Im in my mid twenties and Ive never taken a martial art. I wanted to learn how to defend myself and others, what I got was so much more. Firstly people here know what they are doing, and if you give them your effort, they will help you through anything. In maybe two weeks people start to feel like family. No one judges you here no one criticizes you or makes you feel unwelcome. You just need to come equipped with one thing, the desire to achieve. You might see the price tag and call it a day, I can tell you from experience looking for a gym your not going to find any thing around here cheaper and the price is reasonable. You get so much more than you pay for here. I implore you to visit and take a class, ask the people first hand what they feel about the place ask them their stories on how they got started. My daughter is 12 y.o. She joined it and she made a huge progress just for two months, she loves this place and never wanted to skip the class. She is attending Strategic 4 days a week, great work out, great trainers, perfect discipline. Pretty good schedule for all levels. Absolutely love this place!!!!!

Strategic Combat Academy is excellent for kids. My 6-year old son has been going to classes there under the Little Warriors program for several weeks and loves the place. The coaches really work well with all the kids, no matter how inexperienced they are in martial arts. The coaches are able to mix in some non-competitive games into the martial arts lessons to allow the kids to have fun and to build their confidence. The families and other kids have been very supportive and friendly too.Dont let the name intimidate you into thinking this is a gym only for macho ultimate fighter types - this is also a terrific martial arts school for children ages 5 and up.

I absolutely loved my free trial here! I had an amazing time with my first kickboxing class ever, and learned so much every second i was there. Even if you dont know about starting here, I would definitely recommend taking the free trial. It was an experience Ill never forget! I loved how attentive the coach was, and how awesome he was at explaining everything. I could tell he genuinely cared about my progress, and took the time to explain and show me the proper way to do, for example, a proper leg kick. Even though i had never stepped inside a mma gym before, i felt just as much a part of the class as everyone else. Whether you have any previous mma experience or you are just a beginner with a dream like i am, i hands down recommend you coming here and having the time of your life!

We use Strategic for off-season strength and agility training. The results are positive gains in power and speed.and more importantly the players love going.

Great place to learn self defense skills. My son went there for 3 years when he was 9 years old. He joined little warriors program and absolutely loved it. Strategic Academy is a great place for all levels of self defense. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, you can come and learn new techniques and leave with a sense of value and integrity. The staff is authentic and skilled, the members are not aloof and the facility is clean and accommodating to every level of learner. I attend with my two teenagers and their confidence level has increased, their hand to hand combat skills are much improved, and their cardio has gone from being winded to controlled breathing. Me personally, I have lost 25 pounds and most importantly, my breath control is much much better.

This gym has everything you could want for a workout and it has that at-home gym feel. The classes are amazing, all the teachers are so friendly and really know what theyre talking about. Ive never been into the idea of being a part of a gym but I go here at least five times a week the atmosphere is so inviting it makes you enjoy getting your sweat on for the hour the class you take or however long you choose to train for. Its the best feeling for people to really notice your progress in a skill, with a personal goal, or one of their combat sports. I love going to strategic!

Great place to work out with caring, intelligent and informative trainers who actually know their craft. Everyone is helpful and welcoming. Place is always clean. They are always striving to improve the gym and offer new classes. They are flexible with their class schedule so anyone can fit it in their busy lives. Ive joined gyms before and giving up because it because boring and monotonous. This is not that type of gym. Lots of fun while your sweating and burning fat. Great place that I highly recommend to EVERYONE!

Our daughter has been going there for over a year and a half and she absolutely loves it. The other children, and families for that matter, are wonderful. The instructors and the administrators are incredible with the kids and show them how the discipline they are learning in class is important in the real world as well.It not only is great that she is learning discipline and exercising often, but you can see an improvement in the other sports that she plays because she is more athletic, flexible and in control of her body.

Great place to train! The people are great, from management, to instructors, down to the members. My 9 year old daughter has been training there for years and cant get enough of it. My wife and I have also trained there through the years as well and its been extremely beneficial for all of us. Strategic MMA is an amazing facility. We checked out a few karate/MMA places before signing my daughter up and the atmosphere, coaches, and classes offered far surpass the other places in the area. My daughter absolutely loves it there and coaches are awesome. Highly recommend.

From a very long time I was looking for some evening activity for my son after school , in which he can do some physical workout and can have fun .I tried some swimming and theater classes but my son didnt like it then I heard about strategic training academy in sayreville. From very first day my son was happy to be here.Lovely atmosphere.. great machines ...and good large workout space. Clean and well maintained The staff is extremely friendly and interactive. In management i always dealt with Alfan he is Very knowledgeable great man and very polite explained the whole process in very nice and easy way. Ive done some research of local gyms and this one is by far the best. great instructors, and not only that close knit group of students. I felt welcome and got to hang out with some of the students afterwards. It was nice to build a friendship with the people made me feel comfortable and fit in right away. Great facilities. Great staff. From the top down they create a welcoming atmosphere. All the trainers and coaches are very knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond and provide insight outside of the class start and finish times.

Highly recommend for young children starting out as future warriors. Starting out at 4yrs old, my daughter was afraid of her own shadow, but within months she gained confidence with interaction with others, as well strength and balance. Great price for 3 days a week boxing, jujitzu, circuit. There is no pressure on the children. Very simple, you come to train, with a little 5 min game at the end that the children look forward and work hard to get to.

This place is great for everyone, whether you are a new practitioner or an experienced professional fighter. A dedicated coach for every discipline you intend on practicing plus a boot camp for strength and conditioning. Boasting a roster of coaches who are active fighters. Strategic Combat emphasizes building confidence through hard work. The kids program ‘future and little warriors’ is the most complete program for overall athleticism with emphasis on MMA. Not only do the kids perform well in high level MMA competitions but find success with every other sport they play. The kids also find success in academia due to the level of discipline and hard work taught by the coaches.

Ive tried a couple different gym is jersey, all of which cannot compare to this one. They have everything, from Bjj, MMA, boxing and Muy tai. Im not a people person at all, extremely awkward, and these people made me forget all that. Actions speak louder then words though, check em out, you dont have to waste your time looking elsewhere.

We had looked around for some time to find a martial arts program for our son that was not too commercial. Explored many different styles and places. I finally gave into my husbands idea of my 5 year old son learning mixed martial arts after visiting Strategic MMAs Future Warrior class. The staff, instructors, and parents/students are super positive, professional, nice, and motivating. The classes are geared towards the childs age group and skill and the instructors are hugely supportive and work with your childs current strengths and weaknesses to keep them focused and have fun. Since joining, my son has gained better strength, focus, and coordination while having fun with his peers and looks forward to gaining his next stripe for his belt. Its a great place for all family members to participate as they offer different types of classes for all ages.

Ive been training for a year now at this place and I loved it from day 1, the crew is very experienced and hilarious (will make you feel like you were around long time friends). Finally, we found the place we had been searching for when we were referred to Strategic Academy. We were looking for an MMA academy for my 5 year old for quite some time and weren’t able to find somewhere that gave us that warm & fuzzy feeling and where we didn’t have to open our wallet every time we walked through the door. Their friendly, courteous and professional staff greeted us with open arms, and continue to do so a year later. The staff/class reinforces discipline, confidence, teamwork and personal accountability. Each child works hard for their ranking, giving them a sense of accomplishment. One year later, I am down from 320 lbs to 275lbs, and myself craving to go back to a class (as I participate in Boxing, Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) to enjoy a killer workout surrounded by amazing teachers and students.Would recommend to anybody looking for a way to stay active, without having to do the be stuck in the same workout routine day in and day out.

Overall great instructors and excellent gym! Every class you learn new skills and great way to stay in shape. Ness and all the instructors are very hands on so your always improving and beeing pushed to get better!

My son Logan loved his experience in “Little Warriors”. Sensei Ness truly is a great instructor. His classes were fun and upbeat, yet disciplined. The staff was always very friendly and accommodating to the kids as well as the parents. We would have continued his membership if not for our work schedule, and the difficulty getting him to class on time. We hope to one day have him back when things settle down. I recommend Strategic to anyone I know with school age kids.

My son has been going to Strategic for almost 3 years now and he absolutely loves it. Coach Ryan and Coach Ness are two of the best coaches a kid can have when learning MMA. The facility is great and clean and the staff and other members make it homely atmosphere. I highly recommend Strategic to anyone who is just getting into MMA or even if you’ve been training elsewhere and want to try out a new academy.

The 2 years I spent training and taking classes at strategic were 2 years of learning, positivity, and life changing for the better. All of the owners and teahers are extremely helpful and guide you on the right paths when it comes to training and life in general. They keep you motivated and direct on the smartest path to better yourself physically and mentally. 10/10 would recommend this gym to anyone who is looking for physical fitness, competitive boxing/mma training, or a family community to work out and grow with.

I couldn’t have found a better school for my teenage son. The training goes above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. The staff, instructors and members are all amazing.After having the opportunity to try any of the classes that interested him, my son found his calling in Brazilian Jui Jitsu and puts all his focus into that. One of the great things about his instructors is that they don’t just move him along in rank because he completed the required 2 months, if he does not yet possess the skill he does not rank up and it doesn’t matter how long it takes. In this day and age children get rewarded just for showing up, my son is being taught that if he wants something that he better be dedicated and willing to work hard for it and I do mean work hard. The transformation I have seen in him in the 1-1/2 years he has been training is amazing and I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking to become the best they can be.

A keystone habit is generally a habit that leads to change in other aspects (or potentially other habits) in one’s life. An example would be regular exercise. If one were to incorporate regular exercise (ergo the keystone habit) into their lifestyle they could get the benefits of the exercise itself, alongside its derived habits. Examples of these derived habits include nutrition and sleep habits. As a result of the keystone habit (exercise), one may start to eat healthier or more nutritious foods in order to have more energy for the workout. Additionally, the keystone habit (exercise) may also cause the individual to become more tired and potentially develop better sleeping habits as a byproduct. Strategic is the best gym around! They have the best trainers and give each member the individual attention they need to better themselves. The instructors make you feel so welcome even when you’re just starting out. My boyfriend has been a member for 3 years and has grown much in all of his techniques and has been so successful in his MMA fights and jiu jitsu tournaments. If you’re ready to get yourself into a gym with the best dynamic, trainers and students then this is the gym for you.

I LOOOOOVE this place and the people who work here! You would expect a gym that offers all different types of martial arts classes to be extremely intimidating but the instructors are amazing and are very detail oriented and motivating (without being a drill sergeant). If youre looking to get your fitness on but you just cant get motivated enough to go to the gym everyday, I promise you, go here and youll want to go 7 days a week. I recently moved to Englishtown and if I didnt have a 4 month old and a full time job, I would be driving the 45 minutes to get here.

I signed my 16 yr old son up for strength and conditioning and jujitsu and he tells me everyone is really friendly almost to the point of being family.Its a great place and worth your time
