Jay and Dave really know their stuff. They are both excellent teachers. Passed my Life Insurance Exam on the first try thanks to them. I went to another insurance school for P&C a couple years ago and failed the Property and Casualty both before discovering George Weiss. After I met with them I passed, no problem! Couldnt be happier!

I took my exam long ago so I can only comment on the continuing education insurance classes I take at this school. Ive taken many, many continuing ed classes at many, many schools over the years. George Weiss Insurance School is easy to deal with, easy to learn from and easy to get to. The best of the schools Ive attended. I would recommend it to anyone taking insurance classes.

I will preference this by saying that to the extent I passed the course, I obviously learned something. However, this place is an administrative nightmare! Day one, the application and credit card information supplied by my employer was “never received” only to find out days later that it was sitting in the school’s email spam folder forcing me to provide my personal debit card information. Fast forward to the last day of class. I am taking the final exam when the instructor comes in the testing room and asks to speak with me, but not before stating the reason in front of the entire class “your card was declined”. Remember, I had provided the card two weeks prior. I follow the instructor to his office and of course, he is entering the card number incorrectly. I go back to taking my final exam and I get pulled out a second time, this time he has the credit card processing center on the phone. Would you believe now he has the expiration date wrong? Off by seven years. Who pulls a student out of a final exam? I finish the test and go to the local pizza joint where for some odd reason my debit card is declined? It turns out the school, in the attempt to run my card multiple times, has drained my account dry. I was charged $1,950 for a $650 class which I could have taken at any other school or online for $150 to $300. This took 36 hours to back out, btw. After returning from lunch, I explain what happened. No apology, nothing. I could get into how the study guides and sample tests have been recopied so many times they are nearly illegible, corresponding answer key numbers missing, having been cut off the left margin or page bottom from having been duplicated for years. Some of the sample tests and drills are so old, due to changes in State statute are no longer relevant. In fairness, those questions are crossed off by hand and marked “IGNORE”, without an explanation as to why. Lastly, we are at the course wrap up when the instructor says, please turn in your green text books. You mean the one that has my name and student number on a sticker across the cover? Needless to say, a number of students myself included, naturally assumed they were included in the cost of tuition, which as stated is three times that of anywhere else. Would you believe the instructor has the balls to say to me, no problem, I will charge your credit card for the book? This after draining my bank account dry due to his incompetence? There is so much more; but enough said. Do yourself a favor, take the State required course somewhere else. Some place that reinvests in their business, including the cost of paper. What a stunning disappointment.
