I would first like to say that the teachers and front desk people are very nice and really enjoy working with the kids at this place. All good ends there as this company behind the scenes is terrible. This is a typical money grab from young families trying to expose their children to music and dance. Shady and deceptive business practices! First off, they require 5 weeks notice to freeze or cancel your account. To do this they REQUIRE you to drive to their studio and sign a document with fine print...which is a huge red flag right there. You can pick any future date of the month to freeze the account, but automatic payment starts on the first day of the month. For example, if you have your account froze until 9/15 they will still automatically charge you and run the card on file on 9/1 (they claim they cannot charge my card any other day of the month...). This sound deceptive to anyone else...you dont even get a chance to extend the freeze or cancel prior to the date account is to return to active status (make the freeze dates end on the last day of the month if you charge accounts on the first day of the next month i mean come on its not that hard!). When I called to dispute this the director was rude and kept referring to the signed and initialed document from months prior regarding the payment starting on first day of the month. The director will argue with you until you are forced to just give up because it goes nowhere. Please take your business elsewhere there are plenty of good music and dance studios in the Omaha area that will work with families in these type of situations.

Lexi and Chloe love attending dance classes. When I pick them up they are always smiling and saying how much they really like Miss Amanda and Miss Molly. The extra incentive of getting attendance tokens is also nice as the girls love saving them for the great prize wall. The staff, instructors and directors are very professional and ensure you understand what is expected of you.

My daughter participated in dance camp this past summer and had a wonderful experience. They were very professional and organized. She had a fabulous time and can’t wait to go back. We would highly recommend Omaha School of Music and Dance!

I love this studio so much! My daughter always ifs excited to go to dance and I know she’s safe in all the staffs hands. Also u can tell there’s good energy right when you walk in from all the front desk women. The people there are so patient with the kids and the director is very sweet. I definitely recommend coming here and getting to experience all the things they have!!

Wish I would have read google reviews before signing up. Registered for classes online for my two children. Was called within half an hour and notified that one of the classes we signed up for was not offered on the day/time listed on the website. (We were signing the kids up for two different classes on same day/time.) I was offered alternate days/times and informed them I wasn’t sure any of those would work for us but that I would talk with my husband and call back. They told me they “completely understood.” Within 24 hours, I told them we would not be interested in pursuing classes there, due to scheduling conflicts (now that we knew the actual class times) in combination with their masking policies. They said okay and again expressed understanding. They subsequently charged my debit card $121 for the classes I never signed up for or took. They are currently refusing my request for refund and not returning my calls. Per the other reviews, sounds like teachers and classes may be great but business practices extremely unethical. Wouldn’t recommend trusting this business with your credit card number!

My 2 yr old granddaughter took a music class and really enjoyed herself. The teacher seemed to enjoy working with the children. I was very impressed.

We recently signed our daughter up for dance classes as well as the dance camp that is happening this summer. From the very beginning, Amanda was very patient and explained everything very clear. This is our first daughter so its our first experience with dance, and she helped walk us through everything we needed to know. We are so excited for Grace to be in the dance recital, and she cant wait for dance camp! Thanks for all your help Amanda!

Let me start by saying the teachers and desk staff are amazing. Unfortunately, the administration is unethical and is the reason for this review. I’m very disappointed by this company and will be going elsewhere in the future.I cancelled my daughters lessons but was still charged for 6 more weeks of lessons. I was told there was a 5 week cancel notice, but I’d never heard that before (you’ll see in other reviews this is a theme). Regardless, I agreed to pay for 5 more lessons but Amanda (director) wont refund the 6th lesson. Notably, I’ve tried to call her twice and she’s never returned my calls. The second time I called, I expressed my frustration and staff agreed, many parents have complained by her lack of communication. Tonight, I called to speak to the owner, and was told that’s not an option. In the end my credit card company is reimbursing me for the unauthorized charge.

Omaha School of Music and Dance has been the best outlet for my sons energy! He LOVES coming to hip hop class, and we love his teacher! If youre looking for great classes at a great price, look no further!

I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this. But at this point I don’t really know how else to reach out. We attended OSMD for about two months. And they can say they “tried to help” all they want. But personally I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Guaranteed prisoners get talked to better than what we’ve experienced here. Now to set the record straight, I adored the teachers, they were super nice and just incredible. Management 👎. Well that is there is somehow only one manager. And she will refuse to let you talk to anyone else and will be just rude over the phone and not say anything in person. When we signed up it was online, but when I had questions about the classes later on, I was told it was my fault for not calling to register 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. Like then why offer it online? Anyways, so I left a note to speak with someone else beside this manager. And word got to this person and they called and were just so offended and defensive over me wanting to bring into light the issues I had while we attended. Such as stating “The owner of this building wouldn’t talk to you anyways” or that their director somehow doesn’t handle anything important with this business. Like if you don’t want people to unenroll and leave bad reviews, then just offer literally anyone else for them to talk to who has better customer service experience . Even if they have no real pull or anything important they do, just anyone nice and professional. Also don’t talk smack about your other Yelp reviewers. Just saying. I’m hoping the owner of this business writes back to this and not that said person who caused the issues.Response to owner:Okay so then this brings up new concerns because for one nobody said anything about recording a conversation. Not that I’d have anything to hide about what was discussed, and it sure didn’t seem to help in anyway. But two, I did explain to that person that I didn’t want to talk with them further because they made me extremely uncomfortable and cornered . It’s disgusting to do that to your customers. Also the fact you won’t object to anything being wrong in this situation makes me wonder who’s actually responding. I’m appalled that you want to keep pointing fingers at clients and not look at your management. Please open your eyes and fix the problems .To also add this since I didn’t go over your “response” thoroughly enough. I wasn’t the one changing the topic or conversation. If I said what the issue was or asked for some form of resolution, your director would be silent or they would gaslight me. So no, again don’t blame me for how they handled it. Also as for payments and the five week, yeah that was a really shady situation . Because being talked to like an idiot or told how it’s all my fault that I didn’t somehow know to call and ask every question. And finally for the “twisting their words”. Nobody twisted anything. That is exactly what was said, and I have witnesses to prove that whole conversation. So no we’re not even going there. Again makes me wonder who’s responding because sounds like the same person I was having problems with.But anyways, I hope you have a blessed journey on running your business , if this is who they say they are. No need to waste time responding if it’s just going to be the same run around.

We have had a great experience with Omaha School of Music and Dance. Teaching staff is great, the reception staff is always pleasant, and their class options are so great and convenient. HIGHLY recommend!

The staff here are wonderful and very friendly. Our oldest(11) has been in multiple classes and absolutely loves performing and seeing his teachers each week. We also recently got our 3 year old into tumbling as well. The amount of patience they have have with him is tremendous. Highly recommend attended a class or two.

OSMD is such an amazing facility for the arts. Two of my sons attend and I couldn’t imagine taking them anywhere else. There are so many class options to chose from for both dance and music. The class date and time options have been incredibly convenient with my work, the kids school, and other activities. The teachers are fantastic with the kids and are so patient. This school provides not only training in the arts, but work on behaviors and ethics that benefit the kids in their personal lives too. My kids have been able to try anything they wanted and the school has been more than accommodating for their rapidly changing interests. They are always incredibly responsive to emails and phone calls, and are honest and transparent if concerns ever do arise. I highly recommend this school. We won’t be going anywhere else!

I strongly recommend everyone to keep away from this school! When I was enrolling our three years old girl into three classes the director Amanda didn’t tell us they were preparing for recital. She charged us the recital money from us!! Our daughter started their classes but we saw that there are no kids in her age and classes are upper level. Also they are working on piece for the recital they’ve been learning for some time now/. So Amanda told us a couple LIES!!! My husband and I called today to cancel and get a refund for the recital fee but Amanda got frustrated with us! Also she said a couple two year olds are attending our daughter’s one dance class but there are no two years olds! That dance class’ teacher approved that, too. We called the credit card company and filled a fraud case against them. They responded my review and I see that they are still saying lies! They never mentioned us the recital!

Would not recommend this establishment. They were not clear on what the price was going to be , and in the end 1 class ended up costing us a little shy of 300. They could care less about you and your pockets. And no matter what you will carry over into the next month when you go to cancel. So you will still pay no matter what. Hope you don’t have to deal with Amanda, or you will get no deal at all. We will be looking elsewhere for our wedding dance classes.Also with everything going on with Covid they were completely fine putting 9 people together in a small room with no way to stay 6 foot apart.Thank goodness most of the class didn’t show.The management, policies and lack of customer care, makes me want to tell you to look somewhere else. I’m upset that they can still receive 1 star.

My daughter has taken group voice, musical theatre, and hip hop here. She has loved taking classes at OSMD. She still does hip hop with Charity and loves it! Charity is an amazing dance teacher and she puts on fabulous year end performances. Highly recommend this school!

Wonderful set of instructors! All off them have such a broad range of talents and care so much for their students!

Let me start off by saying the teachers here are great. Had no issues with them and my child loved them. The issues is the Management/Owners. They will do anything they can to make sure to keep getting money from you even after you want to stop bringing your child to class. They hide behind their 5 class notice policy even if they happen to misplace the paperwork you turn into them. Please do yourself a favor and keep a copy of any and all paperwork you turn into them. Finally not really impressed how they handled the COVID response as you either had to have your child do Zoom classes Lets be honest those were a joke or just keep paying and do nothing. No discount was offered or given and once again they stuck by their 5 class cancellation policy without exception. Once again Poor Management.

I take piano with Sarah and have been for a year! One of the best decisions I’ve made is investing in myself here. Just a positive and upbeat environment that can’t be beat! If you’re looking to learn anything from guitar, to tap, to kazoo lessons I hope it’s here!

Absolutely the BEST experience for learning music and dance! The children are so engaged and the looks on their faces are priceless. To top it off they have a AWESOME staff!

My 8 year old daughter does singing lessons and loves it! The teacher is fun, knowledgeable and challenges her to try new and different songs. She says it’s awesome!! My 4 year old son does tumbling and he enjoys the challenge of trying new things. And I love that it helps burn his energy!!

Staff and teachers are wonderful! Our 4 year old loves her ballet class and is excited to come every week. Miss Charity is extremely patient and kind but also professional and very knowledgeable. And Sam at the front desk is just so fun and awesome! Also the classes go year-round, unlike some places, which we like! Highly recommend!!

I started over two months ago, taking private ballet lessons from dance teacher: Charity Dorner. Whom I actually became friends with before I started taking lessons. I was able to start right away. The whole sign up process was very easy and simple. Everyone Ive met there is super nice and helpful. Charity has been a phenomenal teacher. She has attention to detail, is very easy going and caring, as well as staying professional. She has strong empathy and is very encouraging. Even when I feel that Im struggling, she gives me good feedback to reassure when Im doing things well. So it does give me more confidence to progress and try my best. She has simply been great and I look forward to every class. Because its very challenging, but really fun, and I always learn new things and develop more of an understanding of previous exercises. Every class is a new rewarding experience.

My daughter has taken dance and voice lessons here and we could not be more satisfied! Group dance class - able to watch on monitors in lobby, great instructors! Individual classes - my daughter was in heaven to have this one on one to work on exactly what she needed to become better and stronger!! Great facility, great staff!

For the past year, our 7-year old son has attended Omaha School of Music and Dance for private piano lessons. The instructors are very skilled, encouraging and enthusiastic. It’s been such a positive experience!In addition, the location is great. Very easy access to the Dodge Expressway.

I attended a trial of the Adult Combo class and enjoyed it very much. I interacted with Haley to tour the studio and register for the class, and she did a great job of following up with me. The instructor, Jessie, is a confident leader and made class enjoyable. I appreciated the small class size and the range of experience levels among the dancers. I will definitely be returning to try out the Adult Hip-Hop class!

WOW! My daughter started lessons last night and CANNOT stop dancing around the house! Miss Molly has a true passion for dance that she has already passed on to Marissa. Cannot wait for recital season!

Our son has been enjoying his electric guitar lessons with Mr. Collin. We did a lot of research before settling on a teacher for him. Our previous teacher was ending his instruction with his students, so we had big expectations to fill. Collin is amazing and has a great way of teaching to our sons unique personality. Love love love...my four year old daughter has been attending ballet class for a few months and wow has she grown. She has come out of her comfort zone (many classes where she watched more than participated) and gained such confidence and skill. I have to thank the patient and kind staff from the moment we walk into the building until we leave every single staff member from owner to front desk staff to other teachers are kind and friendly, really making my daughter feel special and welcomed. Our 8 year old has been taking piano lessons at Omaha School of Music and Dance for the past 10 months. She is throughly enjoying her lessons and is excited to play her music. Miss Diane is encouraging and her love of music shines through to her students. The staff is friendly and classes are always on time! Web classes are provided if a student has to miss a class due to illness or other obligations. The school is located at a great and easily accessible location. I would recommend Omaha School of Music and Dance to students of all ages.

Omaha School of Music and Dance is a wonderful place to take music lessons of any kind! The teachers make it a positive and fun experience for all their students while at the same time challenging each and every one to do things that they didnt know they could do. The teachers want their students to do their ultimate best while at the same time enjoying what they do whether it is singing, playing an instrument, or even dancing.

My son loves going to lessons each week. His teacher is wonderful. He has taught him how to play the harmonica and is now working on the guitar. Its a great place for lessons.

Just dont.. They cannot keep track of their own schedules. Showed up for lessons that have no teacher and no sub on numerous occasions.

My daughter loves her piano teacher. There is no problem with teachers. However there is big problem with the system of this center. They have this ridiculous policy which only for their own profit and doesnt consider customers right at all. My daughter had to reschedule her class two times, one for teachers absent then, second one for the schedule that they have double booked. These are toally their fault and I nicely undertood. So I had to reschedule and they told me to come Jan 3rd. When we called them to confirm on Jan 3rd, they said we missed the class because it was scheduled Jan 2nd and they cannot reschedule for make up anymore. They were keeping saying Unfortunately, we have our POLICY!!!!! This is only words they repeatedly say. There is rack of communication in this center. They just focus on taking money. NO CUSTOMER CARE.

Im the director of a local daycare and we love coming to the studio for our field trips. The staff is amazing and so patient with our kids. They teach them new things every time we have came to visit. The kids look forward to our trips there. We as a center can only say good things about them!!

I’ve been taking private voice lessons with Kaylie and I LOVE IT!! Kaylie takes the time to not only help me with my vocal technique, but has also been helping me prep for an upcoming audition. After being out of the music industry for 7+ years, Kaylie has truly helped me rediscover my voice and we are working on regaining my confidence on stage! I could not imagine a better vocal coach or a better studio to take my lessons at. The girls that work at the front desk are always smiling and friendly, and I feel like the price of my lessons is more than fair. So incredibly happy with OSMD!!

Mr Kaiser has been wonderful. He has been very encouraging and because of his help my confidence and skill level has improved. I wish I would have started lessons with him at least 3 years ago.

Surprisingly sketchy business. I have a phone conversation with them promising me one thing, then they refuse to honor it. Luckily I have an app to record all my phone conversations and had to show the recording to my credit card company and they agreed with me and gave me a charge back for the fraudulently charged sum illegally charged by this business.Also on Thursdays they have crammed dozens of people into their tiny building, probably far in excess of fire code regulations.Look at the large number of 1 star reviews. They exist for a reason. Very shady company.

Our daughter started piano lessons last November and has absolutely blossomed under Angelikas tutelage. She loves playing and has learned so much in such a short time. Angelika is the best, we just love her!

Very shady business practices, our son fell Ill and we informed multiple people there that we would not be returning any more but they continue to try to charge us. They threaten to send us to collections months after being informed we would no longer be attending. They still try to charge us each and every month. This has been ongoing for well over 3 months. They were good when our son was attending, but evidently they like to steal when trying to leave. Be wary when leaving...

It is an awesome school on many levels. My daughter has been enjoying both private piano lessons and group guitar lessons. Weve seen significant improvement over the two years weve been with the school. The best part is that she enjoys going as well;)

Samantha Kruse at Omaha School of Music and Dance has been welcoming, professional, flexible with our busy schedules, and has been open with our three kids’ variety of interests. I really like how we could pay for just one trial class to see if our kids were interested in a dance class or instrument before committing to a long-term class. Also, my daughter has greatly enjoyed ballet; her teacher is welcoming, patient and encouraging. My sons leave drum lessons feeling excited to learn more!

Not professional. I couldn’t take my sister to classes anymore. I cancelled and she didn’t go for a month and I tried to get my refund for the month she didn’t go they made me fill out these paper work and said I was gonna get my refund into my credit card before January 2nd never got it and my mom went to talk to them why I didn’t get my refund and they said “you can’t get the refund had to be 5 lesson before” why in the hell did I fill that paper work out and got told I would get it January 2nd? Very upset. I understand the part to fill out was because she was leaving but don’t tell me I would get it January 2nd.

Our daughter has been taking dance classes here for almost 3 years and took music classes here for over a year when she was younger. She loves it! The teachers are wonderful and we’ve had nothing but great experiences - highly recommended!

Taking the Cello Up Again has been great fun with the staff and Karen my instructor. Even the other students are inspiring and seem inspired by seeing an adult taking lessons. Cant wait to see what is next!

My first impression is a lasting one. This place has a culture that companies long for! It’s very obvious that each and every staff member has a passion for what they do!

I couldnt be more thankful for my experience at Omaha School of Music and Dance. Because of my two wonderful, knowledgable and talented teachers Kristina and Rachel, my voice has improved immensely! The staff are more than just your teachers and become your friends. Lessons never felt like extra work to me and I would look forward to them each week. I always get such an amazing lesson when I come to do my oboe lessons. The environment is so welcoming and warm and that really makes for a wonderful lesson. The spaces and rooms are perfect sizes. I wouldnt wanna do a lesson anywhere else !!

My daughter went to OSMD from April’17 and loves that school very much. They just don’t go by strict age restriction, based on the potential of the student, they allow them to attain upper level classes. Despite being a 6 years old girl, my daughter is taken in 8-12 years hip hop class and she performed in the recital very well with confidence. All this happened because of significant effort of excellent dance teacher Ms. Charity. Within two months, she had prepared my daughter for the recital very well. All the front desk staffs are very friendly. We really like this school.

I am new to the my child has Autisim world and am full of questions a desire to do what I can for my 3 year old little boy. So far we have just signed up for classes, but the girls up front and staff have been great. The girls up front have been so understanding and patient with our situation. We were able to bring him in and let him get a feel for the Music Fun Time room, which seemed to make a huge difference for him. He went from wanting to escape the vanilla/grey colored walls to smiling not really wanting to leave and waving buh bye to the girls up front. We are signed up for one on one music classes, Music Fun Time, and tumbling and I am just so moved by the effort to make us feel welcome even if we arrived with chaos and a little screaming. You girls that we worked with today really made the day we got the official diagnosis so much better by feeling that we were accepted anyways. Highly worth what it cost and I could keep going on and on about how great my experience has been. THANK YOU

We are new to Omaha school of music and dance. Our granddaughter is taking drum lessons and so far is having a great time.

My daughter Willow attends the ballet class for three to five year olds and she loves it! Miss Molly is her favorite instructor and I could not be more pleased with her progress! Top notch teachers and very curteous staff earns this school five stars!

My almost 3 year old absolutely LOVES going to dance and all the staff is very friendly and helpful! The dance instructor works very well with the young age group and lets the imagination of the kids run free with the dance exercises! I fully recommend them to anyone!

My youngest daughter is taking ballet for the first time and she loves it! The teachers are super attentive, knowledgeable and sweet with all the kids, can’t wait to she her grow as a dancer in the school that she likes so much.

Wonderful place to improve your music skills. Youth or Adult you will find the staff are very warm, welcoming and full of knowledge that they are eager to pass on to you. I would recommend this school to anyone who looks to further their enjoyment of the arts.

OSMD rocks! As a music student, I have grown significantly in my level of music ability and have accomplished many of my music goals through their expertise. Each teacher knows how to help each student personally, whether in a group class or in private lessons. Definitely a great choice for beginners or seasoned musicians, no matter what age, learning style, or ability! :)

My daughter loves taking her dance classes here. Ms Molly is amazing!

My daughter, 3, has loved it here! She does ballet. The staff is so welcoming, flexible and communicative. We have felt really cared for, and my daughter has really picked up dancing.

My wife and I signed our daughters up for the summer dance camp (superhero and princess theme). They had a lot of fun and learned a basic dance routine in a short 4 days time while enjoying craft and snack time. Good way to introduce kids to dance!

VERY VERY VERY shady business ! With an obvious misunderstanding they continue to charge my account for over 10 months! After 6 months of my daughter obviously not being there they charged me again for $235 for a recital she was also not at! I contacted Hailey who was not professional at all, giggled and whispered to another person as I told her it was a miss understanding and this was not morally right. 1 minute she tells me they don’t keep track of attendance and don’t communicate with the teachers about attendance further into the conversation she tells me they do know who is in the class. So after 10 months we don’t receive a call or an email asking about the student never there? Being in business my self I know there are certain times where being moral is important! It sounds like money is the only thing they are concerned about!Reply to owner : Like I said it was obviously a misunderstanding at what point do you guys say hey this student hasn’t been here in months let’s reach out to them ! I see you basically copy and past most of your responses, not only that you see she isn’t in class why charge for a recital ? Or even recharge for tuition fees? I mean you guys do keep track of who comes in and out of there right?

Im fact, you have yet to respond to my email on this topic which expressed the desire to discuss.Also, what do your policies say about confidentiality responsibilities as an organization? Is it in the best interest to share details of your customers with unrelated persons? You might double check your obligations as a client facing firm with state laws.To everyone else: just steer clear. Very sloppy and unimpressive individual running this shop. Good instructors, but they dont stay long. Probably treated poorly and very underpaid.Started off well, but the unprofessional behavior of the supposed Assistant Director and Director quickly soured the experience. After calling into inquire about moving my payment date to the second half of the month to balance out all the payments I have in a month, I received a completely unnecessarily rude and condescending threat that if my payment was any later than the 14th that my balance would be sent to collections.I had two children enrolled here for nearly a year and paid several thousands of dollars to the institution. To top it off, when I went to cancel our enrollment, the Director called my ex-wife to gossip about the situation afterward. Completely unacceptable.The school also has a very high turnover in teachers. My son had 5 different drum instructors. After the first was fired, the staff was very insensitive about how they communicated the situation to my son, who is 7 years old. He was very upset to learn his teacher was fired after having spent a lot of time getting close to and building trust with his instructor.For the price, you can do so much better. Even it were free though, this place still wouldnt be worth the antics.

We have been taking lessons from here for over a year now and it is just an amazing experience! I love getting greater everytime I enter the door and the staff takes the time to get to know you!

I have to say I felt very welcome and at home here. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly and interactive lady and we continued to joke around until my teacher came for our first lesson. Mattias was also friendly and helpful and avoided wasting time by finding what my level of vocal skill was before anything else. Throughout, I felt more like I was interacting with friends than with strict or emotionless instructers/teachers. I will definitely recommend this institution to anyone looking for music lessons of any kind!
