I was an foreign exchange student at Westside in 2009/10. Its really a great school, metaphorically and in size since there are more than 2000 Students there. Besides the macbook every student got, there was a real sense om community throughout the entire year I was there. And most of my teachers were great and really wanted the students to succed, even the foreign exchange students who were there for only a year.I would be glad to send my kids to this school one day!

I graduated from here. Its a wonderful school, with one of the best learning environments. The schedule set up is one of the few schools like a college, and WHS is one of the best schools to prepare you for college.

Ridiculous rules, they are banning headphones to make our focus on school better, even though a good few kids arent going to graduate and couldnt care less. This is all based on studies, but you dont see me going around banning spongebob because it supposedly makes kids stupid. The staff should be something they take care of before implementing this kind of thing. Only a few teachers I would say are actually good at their jobs, yet Westside still tries to hold the claim that its the best school in the state. We cant go to the bathroom during class, and the only time we get to go is during the 5 minute period between classes, and if youre late because you were busy on the toilet, youre counted tardy. The only reason I come to school is so my mom doesnt go to court and to talk to my small group of friends. I do not recommend sending your kids here if you care about their mood towards going to school everyday. Theyre removing any fun that couldve existed to begin with and draining any creativity from their students.

Westside is a great place to attend if you are looking for the best education. But, the teachers can be incredibly rude. They want students to respect them, but apparently teachers arent supposed to respect the student. How ever, being a student there, there are a lot of fights and it is ridiculous. I am only recommending this school of you are looking for the best education, not for the best environment.

I am currently a senior at Westside High School and have been going to Westside public schools ever since I was 3. I can honestly say that Westside High School is a great school, with a great education, great teachers, okay students, better than average food, really nice custodians, and a wonderful new principle who actually takes time to get to know the students and sometimes comes into the lunchroom and/or the hallways just to talk to students and teachers to get a better sense of the community.I have had a great experience here, and will proudly support the Westside Community Schools.
