Trust the process they say! And you should. Hard work pays off, if you stay committed to learning, reading the book and staying after class for extra studying time, you will definitely see results. This school is no joke, but neither is EMS. My instructors Sydney and Chris took great care of us, taught us almost everything we know! best instructors ever!

I was an EMT student at FRTG through Orange County. This course is not for the weak..you must put the work in to pass but if you do what Jay and the amazing instructors tell you to do you will succeed. It is a course with a lot of information but if you put in the effort and trust the process it is do-able. Jay the Owner is very hands on with the course and truly cares about your success. The school is also very high tech and has great top notch equipment for simulations. I feel very prepared to be in the field and continue my career.

When I first started here I didn’t know anything. As I continued to trust the process as the CEO of first response school (Jay) would say, I did just that. He encouraged us to push our mental capabilities to the limit. When you come to this school be ready to give a 100 percent, and when you do give it all you got, you will be very successful here. This school (for EMT- B) was different than I imagined. It is very, very difficult - even for the smartest pre-medical student. If you don’t have time or energy to read a 1500 page book plus study and attend every class, you will struggle or drop out. (Don’t work, if possible!) But overall, I would still recommend because of two amazing instructors - Syd and Chris. Syd is the sweetest person! She loves her students and will work long extra hours to make you succeed. Chris is an anatomy genius. I only had issues with one instructor who was quite boring and repetitive and didn’t teach material. The school is not without its issues and graduates from years ago who I met on clinicals had similar experience. (Ran out of clinicals at first, overworked staff, short on supplies). Owner cares about your success but can be tough/critical at times. He is hardworking and determined which has helped the school stay functioning through challenges.UPDATE: I have had challenges scheduling my exam in a timely manner post class because of several workers quit and new people had to be trained. I hope this doesn’t affect my score.

I attended CPR, EMT-B and more than half of a paramedic program at FRTG before leaving for medical school.I had an overall excellent experience in every program. I felt I had the recourses available to be successful and had excellent instructors with ample field experience. The owner truly cares about the school, and every student will see him almost daily. He will almost certainly even give a few motivational speaches. I made strong friendships in each program, and felt mentorship from each instructor I encountered. The office staff is also very available and helpful. Youll also be blessed with a school mom, who is the kindest women. The school really taught me to take pride in my school and in serving a greater community through the culture FRTG has cultivated. My clinical experiences from programs at FRTG are a huge part of my acceptance to medical school. I highly recommend this to premedical student.FRTG also taught me to love service and I have since commissioned to the US Army, to become an Army physician upon graduation from medical school. I do not think I would be on this career path without the influence of FRTG.No program is perfect, and these are not without bumps on the road, but I am extremely grateful for my experience at FRTG and hope to one day repay favors in any way I can.

The Fire men and woman at that department treated me like family. I was so impressed with the level of treatment that I received that I later attempted to become a employee of the department. First response did a great job of preparing me to professional, punctual, disciplined. The actual owner of the school would check in and ask how things was going and if anything needed to be addressed to improved. This really stood out to me to think that an owner who had many things on his plate and other responsibilities took to time to remember my name and to ask how he could help me be successful. If that isnt a sign that this school continually fails its students i dont know what it is. The owner jay seems to know it all and takes no criticism. He has PERFECTED his school and anyone who thinks otherwise is just lazy and didnt try hard enough. Which isnt fair because I put forth my best effort, him and Amanda know it and I had the grades to show it. They will drop you from the course and take your money, no questions asked, no refund, nothing. They did it to me TWICE, 3000+ dollars down the drain and nothing to show for it. And they had the audacity to offer me a re-enrollment (starting over from the beginning again) and pay 1700 dollars more to them. They do not care about their students.Do yourself a favor please do not give this school your money. Go to a school where the people actually listen, work with and respect their students. A school with a fair grading scale that actually corresponds with the quality of education they offer.

The owner Jay exemplifies what it means to be a proud and professional EMS provider while simultaneously encouraging his students to do the same. He is always open to constructive criticism and strives to ensure his students are getting what they need in terms of their education. I enrolled in the 5 week accelerated EMT class and although the material can be intimidating due to the sheer amount of condensed information, the instructors make it bearable. The instructors are without a doubt some of the best I have ever had. Each and every instructor comes to class with their own passion, enthusiasm and insight from actually working in the field. The administration was also incredibly accommodating and responsive, especially with the complications added from COVID-19 related delays. Overall, I can not emphasize enough how much I recommend First Response! I will not hesitate to tell anyone interested in an EMS education.

First response has been such an amazing experience! The instructors and Jay truly care about all their students. I did the 5 week course and it was intense but such a great opportunity. I would recommend first response training group to any student looking to go into EMS.
