I am a current student at Adventist University and I do not regret my decision. I have finished my first year of college and can tell you that the professors care about the students and are always available to speak with you with open arms. The staff is friendly and helpful and make it their duty to help you as best as they can. The campus is clean and great and not to mention how it is right next to the Florida Hospital which gives students chances to get that hands on experience. It is great knowing you are surrounded by people who have a similar passion for helping people and an interest in health science professions.

This school has been very good to me. I remember coming for my first day terrified because I wasnt sure where to go. The faculties and staff are very helpful. Everyone was so friendly and wanted to help me. My professors took time to learn all of our names in the classrooms which is rare for a university. Ive been to Valencia and the professors didnt even know I was in their class, even though our classroom was small just like AHU. This school really cares about their students. I do not regret coming here.

I graduated from this college about 10 years ago and had the utmost respect for the staff and the professors. They all genuinely wanted the best for the students and would strive to meet our needs both academically and socially. I received an excellent education and have never had trouble finding employment since graduation. They truly prepare you for a real world workplace. I would send all my children here if they would choose a career in medicine.

Ive been to seminole state and Valencia before coming to this school and it has been the best. Ive experienced lots of care from my professors and the counselors when I visited one. I really appreciate how friendly the welcome center is and helpful my financial aid counselor is when I do not understand things. I am happy that I am able to grow professionally and educationally because that is what I see my program is teaching us as well. It is defiantly a christian environment that I am happy to be part of.

School run by terrible people, who dont care about anyone. Attended this school for a few semesters, and regretted it. First the school is deeply religious, and if you dont fit the mold you wont succeed. Fitting in their mold will only get you so far, you then have to apply to professional program. That will be the next hurdle, the campus is small so everyone knows everyone. That being said program admissions are not solely based on grades, but your reputation. As young adults, if you associate with people on campus, your outside life will be in total judgement. Youre activities outside school get magnified. Youre nightlife, social media, and anything you do that doesnt fit the seventh day Adventist mold will be your downfall. Administration and faculty (90%) are seventh day Adventist, who most (75%) attend the same church, and are extremely close (golf outings, monthly dinners and multi year retreats). Why is that important? Because whether be an issue with financial aid, housing, or class you will ALWAYS be found at fault. I have seen personally situations where people have failed out of programs, and appealed and appealed and get shafted only to get letters in the mail about a computer calculation error and be offered a spot in the next term program( 18 months start day) and no apology ( look up the lawsuit on google). Ive seen students kicked out of housing for frivolous infractions, like first offense being pasted curfew, or not getting along with their Adventist roommate, and given three days to vacate( who cares if they are out of state students). I could keep going on about the injustices, and foolishness about this place. Please, run far away from this school I promise you, you will regret attending here.* NoteThis review is based on my personal experience, and to the best of knowledge, all information is believed to accurate. This review is based on my personal experience, and observations.

Best school and learning experience ever. Professors are caring and knowledgeable with passion and the love of God in their hearts to help you succeed. I took some bad advise and went to Valencia (to save money on my tuition) and I only lasted there for one trimester. I came home crying almost every single day, the lack of caring and communication at Valencia made me realized what I had at ADU. Now Im back at ADU and excited to finally complete my degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. God is good :)

Waiting for the college to refund the scholarship. Countless emailing to the financial aid office(including the director) not only no help but not even a response. Waiting for reimbursement from fall and spring and it’s march. Half a year later still no help. Valencia the other college A course is being taken at is trying to get involved and help me out. Been to the office numerous times and no results. Do not need your own critical thinking to go here because if you repeat word for word after the professors they give you a good grade, but when you interject your own opinion on papers they say it’s wrong.

The Nursing program needs to be fully evaluated by ADU administration. I had a few professors harass me. One professor told me that maybe God wants me to become an LPN and not a RN. After that discouraging comment things got worse for me there. I wasted one whole year of my life there and 20k in student debt. Save your time and money and go to another school!

I was lucky enough to attend both AHU In Florida and Denver. the staffing Florida seem to actually care and go above and beyond for the students who put the work in. they were very well equipped with drop-in tutoring, helpful library, and flexible teacher hours. Denver was not like this.when I left ahu they did not have a nursing teacher in place;instead had the principal overextend herself to not only teach but continue her job as principal with help of a old nursing friend (with no teaching experience whatsoever). they did not have a library or any official tutoring hours except for a student-run tutoring session held over Skype.also keep in mind that you will be barely any financial assistance considering that the Denver campus is barely set up as a Colorado college therefore is not accepting Colorado Pell Grant or any other Colorado grants or financial assistance. I was paying almost 7000 a trimester, 5000 out of pocket with FASFA help.then there was the religious stigmas and relationships within the school. the only way I can describe the situation was.. think of mean girls. the religious, varsity, Im-better-then-you white women. that is the people running this campus. all women are over 50 years old, religious, gossiping, and judgmental. if you are not exactly what they want you to be, you will experience discrimination, bullying, and gossip. I never felt comfortable there talking to any of them about any situations I was having in my life because of the energy The faculty gave off.so if you are a uptight, well off, Christian who can devote the next four years to learning everything from the book because there are no teachers to help you; then this is the school for you, otherwise there is many other schools that are better prepared to help you become a real world nurse.

Love the school and the environment that surrounds it but the Finacial Aid office is a joke. Went here for one semester and was more stressed about how unprofessional, shady and disorganized the ppl in the FA office were then I was about the actual classes I was taking. The so called FA advisors have no clue what they are doing and feed you bullcrap just to get you out of the office. For ppl who are attending or wanting to attend, dont pay attention to the estimated FA award letter, things drastically change when its actually time to pay for your classes. That $2000 award you thought you had turns into $100 or less almost forcing you to take out loans be because of how last minute everything is. Also be wary of random $70 fees that they try and charge you when your not paying attention.

This is a Christian university, which is why I choose to come here and I was the class chaplain for the ultrasound program. AHU (formerly ADU) is far from mercy or grace. I made 2 Cs and have been completely dismissed from the program forever (one new and experimental course not required for ultrasound-pediatrics)... 3 years and $30k debt later with 1 required class left, I cannot graduate. I went to the admissions director explaining the circumstances. Basically, I was told their decision stands. Something is very wrong about this situation. My family and 3 children are worst off from AHU. I had to deal with major health issues (and marital) that are now reasonably stable and have been completely withdrawn from the program with one required class remaining to be registered as a sonographer. We may seek legal action against them. Im a disabled veteran that developed a rare condition and was finally properly diagnosed while attending the program. It was a nightmare trying to go to medical appointments, etc. They treat young and old alike, like children. The program looks for reasons to drop your grade... An example would be the routine checks to look at your home and class notes, books, etc If you dont meet their standard, they take away from your professional integrity grade. The people leading the program are careless/ruthless. The year before last we went through a hurricane with property damage. While all schools were out, mine was in session leaving no time to prepare my home and family... Same thing following the hurricane... we were back in classes being quizzed/tested while public schools had no schooling in session. I was told life happens and in healthcare you must be able to keep up... No excuses... No empathy... I explained there was no power or fuel in my area for over a week, needing to clean up, property damage... Still didnt care. Realistically, someone in my situation could have called out of work opposed to running off on the family having little food, fuel and a damaged home/property to run off school. Sadly, one student who performed well on all their quizzes and tests even came to class to take a quiz with a concussion... No joke! They didnt do well, but it was better than having their grade significantly reduced or receiving an F all together... The negative experiences are endless.Do yourself a favor, if you are determined to enter the ultrasound field, this is not a school to attend. Consider Valencia, Keiser, SantaFe. There was over a 50% fail/drop rate for the class of 2017 (Im writing this in 2019... would have graduated with the class of 2019) and Im talking about nearly straight-A students that were hand selected for a program with this high fail rate, which is a testament for this program. We are not dealing with students that dont know how to study or manage themselves. When the program was going through re-certification, we were told what we could and couldnt say... They expressed a concern of the courses having way too much content. Often youll sit through three hours of lectures and then for the same class have another two to three hours of material to go through in online lectures... I dont know how they got away with only making many of the courses three credit hours. My curriculum changed several times spending money and taking class that were not required because the program kept changing; AHU does not refund unnecessary classes they tell you to take and then drops them as requirements. They do not respect you or your responsibilities as a student or as parent and will not look out for you.Ive been to some of the best colleges in Florida: Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Stetson and Asbury Seminary. Ive also attended Daytona State college and by far AdventHealth University is the worst experience Ive ever had... specifically their ultrasound program. Keep in mind Im a middle aged adult with a bachelors of science and a masters with 4 classes remaining to complete my second masters degree.Avoid this school

Good luck having anything explained to you and understanding anything when it comes to financial aid. As my first college experience, I went in blind and to get help from anybody was like pulling teeth at ADU. Complete waste of my time and money. Dorms are disgusting, mold in the bathroom, A/C works when it wants to, there was a moment where nobody could shower because a pipe was struck and the water was coming out BLACK, I’ve never seen anything like it before. Also dorms have VERY strict rules and they LOVE to charge for not signing a stupid paper and leaving past curfew at midnight.... um I’m 19 almost 20 years old Im not going to abide by your stupid curfew ADU, for $2000 dollars a semester? HAAAAA I hated every living, breathing moment. For being such a Religious school, the people and staff are surprisingly rude & STUCK UP. Everyday I regret going to ADU. Yes the classes are small, but the professors are so busy doing god knows what in their spare time that like I said again, it’ll be like pulling teeth to get help. You have to make an appointment for tutoring. You’re not the top priority at ADU, the staff’s pay check is. I thank GOD I left when I did.

I attended early when it was called Florida College of Health Sciences, Best classes I have ever taken because at least 2 lectures were given by senior executives (like Tom Werner when he was president of Florida Hospital, Don Bohanon when he was CFO. ) One of my professors (Dr Saliba) was subsequently hired as a Senior Vice President in marketing. After obtaining degree in both medicine (Michigan State University college of Osteopathic Medicine -1980) and law (University of Florida college of law - now called Levin -1990) I found my time at Florida Hospital (Now Adventist University of Health Sciences) to be priceless. The class I took were in healthcare administration but the courses I have attended for medical subjects were also head and shoulders above those at Michigan State or University of Florida were I has more than 200 students in one classroom, Ultrasonography was taught by an experiencedprofessor who was very approachable.
