I went to this school from K-3, the school was fine up until 2nd grade, in 1st grade I was really ahead and I was on a really advanced track until 2nd and 3rd grade, I got so far behind. In 3rd grade I was bullied for my weight and some of my choices, I went to the teacher, principal, and even my parents went, and they did nothing about it. I hated this school. We never learned anything, I had a teacher who left the entire year and all we had was a substitute, which all he did was put on movies. This will not give you a bright future, ironically, do your child a favor and dont send your child here.

Horrible!! My daughter went there for Kindergarten. It was very unorganized and no one had control over the kids. My daughter would come home with drawings, like thats all they did all day. I took her out and put her in public school for 1st grade( she was behind in reading of course bc she wasnt be taught correctly) Shes now in 2nd and reading at a 3rd grade level. PLEASE dont send your child to this school. I loved it was a green school, but so unorganized.

This is my 7th year teaching here. My passion for my career is unexplainable. Everyday is a new day and being around my students (past and future) is a blessing. We have an amazing CEO and principal. Very supportive and amazing. The staff is very family oriented and we are always lifting each other. The students are very loving and eager to learn. Nothing is ever going to be 100% perfect, but knowing that you are a role model, mentor, and/or advocate for someone, it makes teaching and learning great. I love this place. BFA Rules!!!!!!

Okay so it was a fun school up until 4th grade. I got bullied about my weight and the teachers did nothing. When I stood up for students that got bullied and gave other students pens when they didn’t have them I got in trouble. The staff is terrible, some of the teachers are really nice but some don’t even know the answers to the work they hand out. I had a good teacher in 4th grade, her name was ms.knecht. She said that we were all so behind that she didn’t even know how we passed the fsa. When I was in 5th grade the other students made the teacher cry every day. The substitutes are not trained teachers, one of them is just a students mom. The school did nothing when people got bullied and they made us pull weeds for hours. I actually liked the times I had at the school but it just went downhill as I got older. I switched schools in 5th grade after winter break and my teachers at my new school also said that I was extremely behind. Their was also some shady stuff going on there, not to mention how there was like 9 kids in each class. I don’t even know how they stay in business. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because I made a lot of good friends there, I may have gotten an eating disorder from all the bullying but at least I had some friends.

Worst school you can put your kids in! Teachers do NOT teach correctly and have a poor attitude towards the children. I have 2 daughters who are in different grades given the same school work. They have Substitute teachers who don’t know the answers to the work they hand out to the kids. To top it off, I’ve tried twice calling to speak with principal and no return call back. I am disgusted with how they run things here! Will be removing my daughters VERY SOON.

I went to this school for 1-8 grade and attended both the schools lighthouse and riverside campus. I honestly never wanted to leave this school and I’m glad I didn’t, I made very good friends at BFA and still talk to all of the students from my old class on a regular basis. I would very highly recommend this school if anyone were to ever ask, and wanted to mention the great experiences in the EDU-garden, Bright Futures Academy is a very good school.

I love this school! My son has attended since Kindergarten and is now in middle school. It has had its ups and downs as with all schools. But the core focus has always been on the student and individualized education.

If I could give this school zero stars I would. As others mentioned- unless you’re rich and white- don’t send your child here. My son attended this school in kindergarten and 1st grade. He was bullied repeatedly, administration and teachers never did anything. When he finally stood up for himself- he was then reprimanded. He had substitute teachers often- there was no structure. He is now in the 7th grade and STILL talks about how horrible this school was and being traumatized by being removed from the school for minor incidents simply because their staff was too insolent to know how to deal with students. Even if you look white but have a Spanish last name, you will be judged. If you’re anything other than rich and white- you will be judged. If you’re not a PTA mom- you will be judged. This place will give your child anything but bright future. Believe the bad reviews!!

Bright Futures Academy is a wonderful school with focuses on environmental studies and world studies. This schools greatest asset is its caring staff who all do their best to ensure every child is taught based on the students individual needs, strengths, and capacities. The students who attend this school receive a well rounded education in a small school setting with a family friendly atmosphere. The edugarden at this school provides students with much needed opportunities to interact with and learn from nature.

My kids went to this school until a bully started bullying my son and the school acted like if nothing was happening, they said it was not happening in the school ground, even though, when I visited my son to have lunch with him, the bully would sent his friend over to me, to tell me issues about my son, this, in front of the teacher, but still to them the bullying wasnt happening in their ground. Ridiculous heartless principal!
