Weve seen significant improvement in both our childrens grades and in their confidence since enrolling at this Kumon location. Weve tried other learning programs and another Kumon location but this has been our best experience by far. At this Kumon they truly care about your child and do a great job keeping parents updated on your childs progress. Mr. Steve leads the team, providing outstanding quality of education and customer service. Our children love going there! Were in it for the long haul as weve seen the immense benefits from Kumon. My husband and I love Kumon. Our son could not focus nor sit still at all before Kumon. Now he sits for a full hour without being distracted and focuses on his work. I would have never thought this is possible for him at his age! Academically he is doing very well too. Kumon has done wonders for him overall. My son started his kumon journey when he was 3 1/2 years of age.. within a couple of months he got used to with the system. Because of Kumon, he was identified as a GT student in first grade. He was enrolled for both math and reading. Now he is a 4th grader. He feels so much confidence at school . Most importantly , because of Kumon he has been doing his school class work and homework all by himself.. I don’t have to help him for that. And he completes his work in less time. He loves to do Kumon homework regularly . Presently he has been working on fraction equation.. and he feels very happy to do middle school level math. Kumon helped him to gain his confidence level. Our son has been doing Kumon for past 9 years (MI and TX total) and daughter has been doing kumon for past 4 years. I can only say that their Match skills are at an exemplary level only because of Kumon. Especially for working parents who have strong inclination towards STEM, Kumon enables an excellent structure to develop and excel in the Math skills. The staff here in Pearland is very skilled, they want to help the children, they take ownership in the childs progress and Steve makes sure that he has the right expectations set for his staff. Highly recommend this Kumon center! My son has been attending the reading program here for about three years. His participation got interrupted for a while due to time constraints. However, as soon as he gets more time after school, he re-enrolled into the program, simply because we believe (and have seen) that the Kumon method improved his reading skills significantly. I enrolled my daughter in Kumon about 2 years ago due to her struggle with math and reading. Since then her Reading and Math skills have improved tremendously. Kumon has definitely made a positive impact on her academics. It has made it so much easier for her at school and she has been told by teachers she’s ahead of the class. We enrolled our son at this center over a year ago before he started Kindergarten. We are very happy to see the tremendous improvements in his math and reading skills. The program also helped him to build good habits of doing homework by himself at the early stage of learning. The center director is very responsive and the tutors are well trained to work with young kids.

This Kumon center is great and the support from the staff is phenomenal! I completed the math program, and I feel like it really helped accelerate my education in subjects involving mathematics. The curriculums for both math and reading are not only proven, but they are still being updated to fit modern educational needs. The staff (all of them- front desk, instructors, graders) work hard to ensure that students get what they need and that parents can easily stay updated on how their kids are doing. Steve makes sure of it!

This is by far the best extracurricular program to boost children to the highest levels in Reading and Math. For the past two years my granddaughter has been partaking in Kumon at this center. I have seen a sizable difference in her confidence in math and notice she has great diction for her age at 4! If you want your child to be confident and competent Kumon is a right fit and it is reasonably priced.We look forward to Karter’s progress all the more as Kumon builds a solid foundation for her to succeed.

Kumon has been part of our routine for the past several years. It started with our eldest child 7 years ago and the math program helped her immensely in getting ahead in the math curriculum @ school and is now a 8th grader doing Geometry at school. Following in her footsteps, the younger one enrolled @ kindergarten and is now doing math and reading @ kumon of Pearland-West for the past 4 or more years. Even during this pandemic kumon kept on going with their zoom calls and patient approach to study materials which helped our child to have something to do and to keep him motivated ! Me and my sister are both Kumon students. It really helps us with our math and reading skills. We now do way harder math than our grade level.It really helps a lot with learning. I highly recommend this place. We do daily worksheets which helps a lot. I got into GT because of Kumon. My sister is only in 1st grade and does long division! Kumon really helps you learn. My name is Krisha Patel, and I have been in the Kumon program since 4th grade. For the last 4 years, Kumon has helped me a lot, especially in reading. Before Kumon, I was having difficulties in understanding what I read. I often forgot what I read after a day or two. But since I started Kumon, my understanding levels have increased day to day. Also, I was having some troubles with understanding poetry. Kumon taught me how to interpret different types of irony, write summaries, and allowed me to understand complex plays, such as Macbeth and Hamlet. With Kumon, my knowledge grew, and I applied it to my schoolwork. Now, everything in school seems so easy! Kumon reminded me that in order to master concepts, you must practice and do your work with accuracy. Without Kumon, I would not be this far in reading today!

My daughters have been at this center since January of 2020. Due to the pandemic there have been some changes, but my girls love it. They have been attending Zoom sessions with the instructors and have not missed a beat. Both of my girls are now ahead of their grade level. It was very important to my husband and I that the girls did not lose any material they have already learned because of the pandemic. Thanks to Kumon and the wonderful staff, the girls are doing great and are ahead of their grade level!

I was a student of Kumon for about 10 years and completed a majority of the Math program. I am proud to say that being a student here helped significantly supplement my Math knowledge in school, putting me ahead of my grade level for Math classes. My children were both slightly behind their grade levels last year. I enrolled my children at this center November of 2019. Today (September 2020), my children are ahead of their grade levels. Mr. Khanna and his staff have helped my children gain confidence in their work skills. They have learned how to quickly grasp concepts in the short time they have been enrolled at this center.

My husband and I were looking for a place to get our boys ahead of grade level since they were not being challenged enough at school. Our boys are now 3 years ahead of grade level in both Math and Reading and we owe it all to Mr. Steve and his wonderful staff!

Excellent curriculum overall, especially if you want to start your child in Pre-K or KG. We enrolled our son in math and reading when he was 3, and he has learned a lot since he started there. My daughter has always struggled with reading. Once she hit 2nd grade, I could tell she was falling behind in school. I decided to enroll her at this center, and have not regretted my decision! She was not a fluent reader when we enrolled and now she a Star reader at school. Kumon helped her understand the basics of reading, Mr. Steve planned for her to start with phonics. As she learned phonics her reading fluency improved tremendously! Thank goodness for Kumon, Mr. Steve Khanna, and his staff!

Better late than never! I should have written a glorious review for Steve and this Kumon Center a long time ago. Both of my kids attended this Kumon center when they were 3 year old (one was on the month he turned 3, and the other was a month and a half before she turned 3.) Fast forward; one is going to 5th grade and the other 7th grade this month. Both have completed the reading program (yes, the entire reading program) by 5th grade. My 5th-grade daughter is finishing J math (Algebra), and my 7th-grade son is at the end of M level (trigonometric functions, graphs and inequalities, addition Theorem and analytic geometry). He has two more levels (N and O) before completing the Kumon Math program.Kumon is not for everyone, but it is the one for us. I did careful research on different programs, and for young children who would like to start early and build on that foundation, KUMON WAS THE CHOICE. Kumon applies a self-guided method, which is a pedagogical approach at its finest. Kumon is a combination of learner-centered (not teacher-centered) and learning-centered approaches. You bet the Kumon students are the ones who have no problems tackling virtual learning, synchronous or asynchronous during this pandemic. They are trained to figure things out on their own, and they are well equipped to follow directions. I hope this answers the question of why Kumon teachers do not stand tall in front of the board and teach (or, why the kids have to figure out the concepts themselves). Kumon is also about speed, hence the repetitiveness of work. This basic math or calculations should be embedded in everyones long term memory that one can spit out the answer (for lack of better words) half-sleeping. Have you watched math or quiz bowl competitions? Every second count. My 7th-grade son just took the SAT that 10th-12th grade students took, and he scored highly competitive comparing to these high school students. We credited Kumon Math and Reading for this. We have been doing Kumon daily since they were three years old, and we are still doing Kumon daily now. It is a part of their daily routine.Kumon is not for everyone, but it is the one for those who want to see their kids reaching, extending on their tiptoes. Kumon is for those kids who want to stay a little ahead of their peers, who are curious, anxious, want to do more, and for those dreamers who want to see beyond the sky.I must also credit Steve and the staff at this center for their professionalism, expertise, flexibility, and, most of all, their investment in these children. They know your children by name. They are the same people whom my kids started with, were still wearing their training pants at three years old.

I have two kids that goes to this Kumon for both math and reading. I love this center. The director and the staff here are exceptional. My kids started there at age 3. Theyve worked with them on math and reading, and its made all the difference in helping my daughters catch up to where they should be in school (and then some!). Theyre great about scheduling and have been flexible, which is a huge help. They make it fun with their rewards system, and most importantly, weve seen huge improvements in their grades and skills. A very positive experience all around!

They stayed at my son pace. They didnt move him ahead in a subject until he was ready . it took longet than most kids but they stayed working with him at his pace. And they didnt put stress on him.

I’ve tried other after school programs in Pearland for my kids but Kumon is definitely the best. Mr. Steve and his staff make sure that children have a strong foundation and then motivate them to advance to higher level material. They also help students become more independent. These are things my husband and I didn’t see at the other programs in the community we’ve tried. We’ve really seen great results with our kids at this Kumon, and the best part is that our kids love going there!

This program is outstanding and I highly recommend it! We joined because we wanted our children to be a little bit advanced and after a short year we have seen so much progress. Just recently my 4th grader’s math teacher has praised him on his ability to solve 4digit division problem in seconds. Kumon did that! My son has been in Kumon for 3 years. Kumon is an amazing program that actually works! I saw an improvement in my son’s grades in only a few months! I do recommend Kumon in Silverlake. The teachers are great and Steve is awesome!!!

Both our 1st and 4th grader have been going to this Kumon for math and reading for the past 2 years. Not only have their grades improved significantly in school but also they are now doing advanced work that is 2 or 3 years above their school grade level- something only Kumon can do! Their critical thinking skills are much better thanks to Kumon. My older one did very well on the STAAR test, and we know thats because of Kumon too. Also both of them are more focused, independent and confident now than they were ever before. We like that the owner Steve is always there, actively involved in the students progress and the day to day operations of the center. We highly recommend this location!

This Kumon is fantastic!! When Allison first went there at 1st grade, we were hoping she can form a good study habit -- no binge study (or deadline driven) like the other members of family. Shes also not confident at her learning capability, because of the language barrier. However, she consistently surprise us by her performance at school -- even though we did not spend extra time with her on her learning at home (besides her regular Kumon, of course, 3 page reading and 2 page math). She was selected into GTA last year, and got 100% for her STAAR test for math and science and 84% for her reading, all at Master level!Thanks a lot, Kumon, Steve, teacher Priya, and all staff! Cant wait to check out their new (better) location next Saturday!

I am currently in the 10th grade and started coming to Kumon when I was in 5th grade. I came to this Kumon in Pearland because I was struggling in math. I no longer struggle, I excel in all math. I am in Algebra II pre-AP, one year ahead of my grade level. I know the curriculum at school before they even teach it, and my friends ask, “How are you so smart!?”, I explain that I do Kumon. After starting at B level math, I am now in level K. Kumon is not tutoring, it is a program where you do a small amount of homework each day, and then ask any questions you have in class. In the summer we do less homework, but we do not stop completely so that we are able remember math when we go back to school. After moving and trying a Kumon in Sugar Land, I realized how special the Silverlake Kumon was, and returned in less than 3 months. Every Saturday we drive 30 minutes to come to Pearland and it is definitely worth it. There are more teachers at this location and they are positive and will help you whenever you need it. This Kumon is spacious, has larger desks, and their system of organization is noticeably better. Kumon has allowed me to watch myself grow as an individual.

This review has been long overdue:I attended Kumon from 5th grade until approximately my Junior year of high school. When I first came to Kumon, I lacked confidence in my academic abilities, due to an unfortunate experience in private school, and I desperately needed one-on-one tutoring to help me regain my confidence in both math and reading. By the time I reached 6th or 7th grade, I was excelling in both Math and English. In fact, I was far ahead of my classmates. By high school, I had built an incredibly strong foundation in both subjects because of the amazing staff at Kumon, and because of Ms. Lata as well as Mr. Steve. I credit Kumon for my academic success, especially because they instilled a confidence in me that I could not have grown anywhere else. I was accepted into the University of Houstons Honors program on a full scholarship. Furthermore, my sister has been enrolled in Kumon since she was toddler - my sister is definitely the brighter child out of the two of us, she is more academically capable than I was at her age because of Kumon. If your child is struggling in mathematics and English, or if you want your child to get ahead in both subjects, I highly recommend that you enroll them in Kumon. This location is especially amazing because of Mr. Steve and his staff!

My daughter, Maddie, did not do too well during her 3rd grade. Throughout her 3rd grade year, we kept receiving notes from her teachers requesting us to take her to school an hour earlier several days each week for extra tutoring. With her teachers help and dedication, Maddie ended up passing 3rd grade with very low Cs. However, she still did poorly on her STAAR exams.I took Maddie to the Kumon - Silverlake center - for placement testings (math & reading) on 06/01/2018. The Director of this Kumon center, Mr. Steve Khanna, evaluated Maddies tests himself and placed her into the most basic math level (1+1=2, 2+1=3, etc.). I raised my concern that Maddie has already learned multiplications, divisions, fractions and much more in 3rd grade. If she was placed into such basic math, then she would never be caught up on time for her 4th grade (which would only be approximately three months away). Mr. Khanna reassured me that Maddie would be caught up to 4th grades math and reading if she commits to Kumons homework assignments everyday over the summer.Maddie did commit to her part diligently. During the summer time, her friends and cousins went to beaches, parks, campings, and vacations, Maddie stayed home and struggled through all of her assignments from Kumon each and every single day. It was a lot of work, but her devotion and perseverance paid off.Maddie is in 4th grade now. Two progress reports came out in early September and October 2018. The first 9-week report card came out last week (10/24/2018). She earned all As for all of her classes. I had to read her progress reports and report card several times to make sure I didnt dream those scores up. As a parent, that is all I could ask for. Maddie would have not been able to turn around so quickly without the help of her her teachers at school and the staffs at Kumon. HUGE THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

My twin sister and I are students at Kumon in Pearland, and we want to express how much we appreciate Kumon and the staff. We began kumon when we were in the 5th grade, and we were having lots of trouble in math and our grades were suffering. We noticed not long after we started kumon, that we were understanding math better, and we knew more than the rest of our class! However, after the 5th grade, we moved to Sugar Land, which is around 30 minutes away. We started going to a different Kumon location closer to our house, but we soon realized that we had made the wrong decision. We noticed how much better the Kumon in Pearland is because: it is a big location, its less crowded, it is very structured and organized, there are more teachers to teach and correct you, and all the staff are extremely nice. We came to the realization that the Kumon in Pearland was the right Kumon right for us. Ever since, around four and a half years later, we drive 30 minutes every Saturday to go to Kumon, and love it. Instead of going twice a week, we stay for an hour on Saturday. Now that my sister and I are in the 10th grade, we are in Level K Math. We are so grateful for Kumon, the improvements we have made in school, and the amazing people at Kumon who have helped us learn through it all.

Silverlake kumon is the best thing I decided for my daughter. She joined this center when she was 4 yr and its been a year since she has been attending classes here for both reading and math. I saw phenomenal progress in her learning . The staff and teachers are very patient very systematic and very open about the childs progress. They take care of the kids at individual level. Steve the owner and the leader of the group is fantastic. I am so thankful to steve and his team for all the positive chages in academics I see for my daughter. Thank you kumon silverlake.
