It will take about 30min to go through the entire museum. Not very interesting for children though it seems they try. There is an outdoor trading post that seems interesting but it isnt clear how to get to it. You have to go down a corridor which looks more like an employee only hallway.Gift shop has a few locally made items but most items have nothing to do with Pueblo at all, not even the t-shirts.It is a good place to go to get out of the heat, thats about it.

Absolutely enjoyed learning about the history where I live, it was kind of heartbreaking to learn the harsh reality of how things turned out but very necessary and I am so excited to return with my relatives so they can learn it aswell the ladies at the gift shop were so kind and polite and it was just a very good visit

Friendly staff and wonderful bilingual exhibit on Borderlands of Southern Colorado featuring Original Treaty of Guadalupe- Hidalgo. A re-created 1840s adobe trading post and plaza, and the archeological excavation site of the original 1842 El Pueblo trading post. Nice little garden near front entrance with small fountains. Paddle boats that kids and mom and dad will enjoy at nearby Riverwalk pond. Enjoy!

If you want to go support a Museum that believes it is their job to use your Tax Dollars to promote their Political Agenda by Hanging an Effigy of President Trump from the ceiling with signs professing their Political beliefs then maybe you will think this is what a Tax funded Museum should be doing. Disgusting!

Beautiful & VERY informative museum to really learn about Pueblo. Some of the exhibits are just extraordinary, kids in places (everyone really) are encouraged to touch or go inside for a wonderfully realistic view of life in the area. I especially loved finding out the Utes called Pikes Peak the Sunshine Mountain & I couldnt agree more! Not alot of walking either...You will walk away respecting the miners of this area..Unbelievable.

We had our catered event in the large hall area of museum complex. There was plenty of parking and there was room enough inside for the guests, childrens activities, and the caterers. We had about 9 (?) large tables and a space for the band and the guest speaker. We had the use of the house video projector to display a short video on the back wall. A security guard was also issued to us for the event. The acoustics were rough, due to a heavy echo. The echo could be fun for a soloist or small group musical event.

A must stop and visit to see the Old El Pueblo Fort excavation.. The history sitting on that land and displayed in the museum itself is something truly worth you and your childrens time.Stop by the gift shop to and meet some of the amazing staff members, shop for a great gift and even walk away with locally made products from the area of Pueblo..

Great gift shop! The museum part of the building was rather small. Very few artifacts. Half of the museum was about the Ludlow Massacre. Which is Trinidad CO history. But the admission to the museum was only $5. So we got what we paid for.

Nice little museum. The displays are very well done. Theres just not a lot of them. It only took us 10 minutes to see everything. There was an outdoor section to see as well, but it was locked up. The restrooms also required a digital code to open. Since the one employee was busy, we just went somewhere else. It is a nice place, just not a lot to see for the average tourist.

For a town the size of Pueblo I found the local historical museum to be very through in information about the communities past as well as extremely interesting exhibits on the Chicano movements involvement in the civil and labor rights movements and opposition to the Vietnam War right here in Pueblo. The exhibit on the Ludlow Massacre is both a tearjerker but also highly inspirational for those whose families and friends have been active in organized labor. I would encourage anybody travelling through to take a visit.

Loved coming here. I havent been since I was in elementary school on a field trip. I have since moved to another state. I loved walking through all the exhibits and it made me realize my hometown isnt perfect, but Pueblo has a lot to be proud of. I loved the photos of the residents of Salt Creek and reading a small snippet of their lives. I really enjoyed learning about the Ludlow Massacre and it made me realize how much I didnt know about Pueblo. I definately recommend anyone visiting to take a walk through the museum. You wont be disappointed!

The new exhibits here were very touching! So much history left untold. As far as those who criticized the museums Director for disagreeing with Trump should spend more time educating themselves with what the museum has to offer rather that criticizing. If your new president wants to display his racism, sexism, and violence and you agree with him, that is very troubling and If we need to display his ugliness in order to keep HISTORY from repeating itself than thats what we will do!
