Ronnie is a great instructor. Super positive vibes and you can tell he knows his stuff. From the second our 3-hr session started, he was diagnosing bad habits and body patterns that Id internalized over the years (without even realizing it). Was great to have another set of eyes on my riding, especially from someone so knowledgeable and attentive. I definitely plan to work with him again.

Ronnie took my kids out for the first time this week. He was great! He communicates in timely manner, and is very professional. He is very thoughtful in his approach and works to connect with each kid at not only their skill level, but also their interest level. He is super safety conscious which I’m very thankful for in ensuring our kids are taught how to ride responsibly. We will for sure be doing more lessons with Ronnie. Great coach and all around great guy you can trust!

I had two back to back lessons with Ronnie last week while I was out in Tahoe on vacation. Let me talk about this guy for a bit–he is an incredible instructor. He is an astute listener when it comes to your goals and what youd like to get out of the lessons. He scaffolds the learning like a PRO (well, because he is!), and gently pushes you, pulling back when necessary so that you get the most out of your experience. I am 100% a better rider than I was before I worked with Ronnie. Also, there are jokes. Hes a funny guy, because you need funny on those hills at altitude!!!! I CANNOT wait to go back west to work with him again. Hes a treasure! Sign up NOW folks!

Came in from out of town and Ronnie was able to help us ensure the bikes were set up properly and provided a great lesson for us. He gauged our abilities quickly and tailored the lesson and trail features we attempted to what we wanted to improve and what we were capable of. We definitely improved on the day and have more to continue improving as we continue riding. Highly recommended!

My wife and I booked Ronnie for a three hour session this past weekend. We have both been mountain biking on and off for over 30 years and consistently for the last 12. We initially inquired about focusing on jumps and cornering but Ronnie encouraged us to just work on fundamentals first before progressing to more advanced skills like jumping. Before the session even began he encouraged us to switch to flat pedals so we could learn how to properly weight the bike without being tempted to cheat with clipless pedals. So we spent ~3 weeks getting used to flat pedals before our first session. He warned us that we would have to take a few steps back before we could progress forward. He was right about that, but I was pleased that it only took me about 2 weeks to feel pretty comfortable on the flats. At the beginning and throughout the session Ronnie always asked for our input of what we wanted to focus on and where we wanted to do it. We ended up spending the 3 hours riding around in a parking lot working on braking, shifting, cornering, front wheel lifts, rear wheel lifts and an intro to bunny hops. He offered us a a trail ride many times but the parking lot format was really productive. Despite thinking we were reasonably solid in our fundamentals we learned a lot of skills and drills that we we will continue to work on. We both wished we had booked this session years ago to get rid of bad habits. Ronnie was very patient, clear with his instruction and gave inspiring demos complete with back flips. He interspersed his instruction with plenty of corny jokes to keep our spirits high. He also took video of us and of his demos so that we had those to reference back to after the session. All in all we cant wait for our next session with Ronnie! If you are on the fence about booking a session with Ronnie I would say dont delay, so that you can get going on learning proper riding techniques that will maximize your fun on the bike while keeping you safe at the same time.

4 months ago, I would have never imagined myself trying something like this. Thanks Ronnie for the confidence you have instilled upon me as a rider. And, thanks for all the videos and photos!

Ronnie is fantastic, I would recommend him to anyone interest in mountain biking! Before the session I thought downhill mountain biking was just something to do; after our class I fell in love with the spot. I feel I have the basics nailed to go out, practice, get better and shred. I am very thankful Ronnie shared this with me.

Ronnie is the real deal, I highly recommend his coaching for anybody who wants to improve their riding or start learning to ride a mountain bike. He takes really good video and breaks down each movement so you know exactly how to correct your mistakes.

Ronnie is an excellent coach. He has an abundance of knowledge and can teach you how to put good technique into action for yourself. I have been riding bikes for most of my life and consider myself a fairly advanced rider. Ronnie still had plenty of pointers and things to work on for me. I would encourage riders of all skill levels to take a lesson with Battle Born Prodigies. Even if you already know everything, Ronnie is still a rad dude and super fun to ride with. You’ve got a world of skills and techniques to gain and nothing to lose, so go for it!

I recently moved to Lake Tahoe with my family and decided that I wanted to learn how to mountain bike at the age of 51. Ive taken two lessons from Ronnie in the last week and both have exceeded my expectations. He is an excellent coach who does an outstanding job of simply and clearly explaining the technical fundamentals and devising exercises to practice these basic skills. He also teaches you how to properly setup and maintain a mountain bike for different types of rides, not an easy task given how much technology is built into todays machines. Very enthusiastic and generous about sharing his knowledge of all aspects of mountain biking and the best rides in Lake Tahoe.

For my sons 12th birthday he and I had a lesson together with Ronnie. My son is an intermediate rider and I wanted him to pick up some tips from a pro, rather than just from me (Ive been mountain biking since before front suspension was common!).I came along to support and spend time with my son, I had no idea I would learn so much myself! Ronnie is a fantastic teacher and did a great job of providing instruction to both of us, even though we are at very different skill levels. He made sure he understood what riding/skills we wanted to focus on and gave us great foundational skills to work on.By the end of our session I realized that I could have been riding better for the past 35 years! Better late than never!

Ronnie is the real deal. Extremely professional, super enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and really fun to ride with up in north Tahoe. I had a 4 hour lesson. Money well spent. I feel like I made huge strides on my foundational skills for riding. I cant recommend him enough, and I will definitely be a repeat customer as I continue to work on all the skills in mountain biking. His passion for the sport is palpable and it wears off on you!

Ronnie spent two days coaching my teenage son and I was impressed on several fronts. First of all he take his business seriously; I was impressed with his professional demeanor and his approach in taking the time to really understand what we were looking to accomplish in the sessions. He taught some needed fundamental skills and quickly was able to assess where he could provide the most help. We highly recommend Ronnie and will be returning for more coaching sessions.

Whats that saying? Cant teach an old dog new tricks? Anyway, I am an older learner and Im trying to improve my mountain bike skills. I spent a 4-hour session with Ronnie and I was impressed with his ability to break down each element of complex movements (like the bunny hop) into understandable bites. Ronnie was also calm, remaining soft spoken, and patient throughout the entire lesson even though I was a less-than-stellar student. I feel like I got a lot of great training and would highly recommend scheduling a session if you are committed to improving your mountain biking skills.

Took a solo 4-hour lesson, as a middle aged girl who decided she wanted to learn to mountain bike. I was nervous about the lesson but am so glad I did it! Ronnie quickly put me at ease with his friendly and easy-going attitude. He focuses on working on skills safely and having fun while doing so. I learned a ton. He explains things well and apparently doesnt mind repeating himself until it sinks in, LOL! I have no doubt Ill be booking another session. Thanks, Ronnie!

My kids have so much fun and learn a great deal from biking with Ronnie. Not only does he take the kids on some diverse trails but he is very personable and teaches the kids so much more than just biking- maintaining their bikes and mechanics of their bikes.

I just had my first lesson with Ronnie yesterday. It took place in the Northstar area. I come from a competitive endurance background but I am massively lacking in the technical and skills department. After an extensive assessment conversation and a quick watch of my turning habits and bike handling in the parking lot, Ronnie was able to diagnose several issues with my form. He has perfectly crafted skills and programs to help with improvement in a variety of areas of mountain biking. The best part about Ronnies lesson was that I got more and more stoked throughout to improve. He is confidence inspiring and patient as you learn and struggle through the process of unlearning and relearning how to ride like a ripper!Ronnies lesson was worth every cent, I have already recommended his clinic to several close friends who I know would greatly benefit from this. Dont miss out on a lesson with Ronnie. It will make you a safer, more sendy rider no matter where you are at in your career. Trust in the Ronnie process and emerge a battleborn prodigy!

Ronnie has coached our two boys for a couple of years and we couldnt be happier with the results. He is a very patient teacher and clearly very skilled at what he does. Most importantly, the kids love him and they listen to him. If you are looking for a mountain bike coach in the Lake Tahoe area Ronnie should be top of your list!
