I interviewed another school before my friend told me about Family 1st of VA. I made the right decision. The staff is caring and made sure to help every step of the way. Our instructor did not sugar coat any part of our curriculum. He expected excellence and gave my class the tools to be the best.

Learned a lot while being in this class. Definitely had a great teacher certainly appreciate how he breaks everything down for you and explains it instead of just telling you to open up your book and read. Hes more of a on hands and visual person and for that Im certainly grateful. Taking up the CNA class is probably the best move Ive ever made. I would definitely recommend going to Family First of Virginia nursing school. Its very warm and inviting and everyone there is like family.

I took my med-tech class there about a year ago or so but the instructors there were very good they made sure we got the information we needed to become a med-tech weather it was hands on or book information...The owner of the business he does the CPR portion of the class and is is wonderful he drilled my class until we got the speed the knowledge of what could happen in a real life situation so everybody there gets 5 stars from me...Keep up the good work..

Mr. James Gough is a really good teacher and person. He believed in me when I didnt and I passed both my tests. I would recommend going to Family First of Virginia and taking one of Mr. Gough classes.

I paid $60 for a CPR session and when I arrived the instructor was not there. Myself and some others waited and asked around and turns out the building space hadn’t been used in awhile. Had to schedule another session two months later with a different company.

I was scheduled to take a CPR/AED/First Aid class but when I showed up to the location I was told they were holding the class I found out they had moved to another location and wasnt informed in advance. Then I show up to the new location and no one was there!! I called numerous times and sat outside for over 30 minutes thinking maybe theyre running late but no! I didnt get to take my class which is required for my career and never received a return call! Highly upset and this is extremely unprofessional! Should be 0 stars!!!

I had a horrible experience with Family 1st of Virginia Healthcare and Safety Training Center LLC. The instructor, James Gough, did not show up to the BLS class that I had pre paid for. I called him and he said he wasn’t going to be able to make it. We made an appointment to meet Friday to go over the skills portion. I had to go online and pay extra to take the classroom portion before friday since he did not show up to teach me. On Friday when I came to learn the skills he was highly unprofessional. He was doing other work on his building as I sat there and had his family and children there. It was very distracting. After I did the BLS skills with him he told me he didn’t have any cards left to make me my BLS certificate. How unprofessional, at this point I had spent $88 and was being told that I wouldn’t receive my card. I told Mr. Gough that was not okay with me. After much arguing and me telling him I was not going to be leaving the building until I got my card Mr. Gough left the building to go find a card, returned in over an hour and I finally received it. I was promised a partial refund since I had to pay extra to take the classroom portion online but have called Mr. Gough multiple times since then and he has ignored every single one of my calls. I do not recommend this business.

Took 3 months to receive my card after taking CPR class. I talked to James numerous times requesting it. Then his phone was out of service for weeks so I had to contact the Richmond American Red Cross Chapter.
