Holladay Elementary is the best!!!! Love all the staff, they are so helpful and very very nice. I love this school and so does my son. Mrs French (1st grade) was so wonderful last year. Ms Brown (2nd grade) absolutely they best teacher ever!!!!!!!!!!!Class was always pleasant and she is so helpful with the children!!!

Holladay is the first Lighthouse School in the state of Virginia through the Leader in Me FranklinCovey program. I am so proud of the staff, students, and parents who helped achieve this! My daughter has been going to Holladay since K in 2011, and will be finishing up in 5th grade this year. Weve enjoyed these years and have no complaints. We love the diversity of this school, and the family involvement. The children are learning and incorporating leadership skills into their daily lives that they will carry with them for the rest of their life; real life skills with an extreme amount of positive reinforcement. Its really a wonderful little school.

I went here for elementary school and it was the worst years of my life (no offence). I mean the teachers were good but the kids were awful. The school awful didnt prepare me for middle school AT ALL!

We love Holladay school Mrs Ambrose is the best teacher my son loves her so much so do I :) Mrs reams and principal Olsen are great leaders to Holladay I couldnt ask for better people where my son goes 5 times a week !!! Keep up the good job ladies.

The school isnt bad, however, first impressions can be lasting. The older staff in the Office is rude. Reminds me of someone who is still holding on to the bygone days when all staff and students were white...and have not adjusted to the overwhelming sea of black and brown faces. Very rude lady. But on a lighter note, my 1st grader had Miss. Schemmel and she was/is a very good teacher. He loved her and school...so far, after the 3rd week, hes hating school, teacher, etc! What a difference a teacher can make good or bad; positive or negative.

This school has some cool teachers but, some of the teachers are crazy like probably 1 teacher but, this school has some of the meanest students once you get fifth grade but every grade before fifth grade is fine but in fifth grade you mine as well go to lakeside elementary for fifth grade so bye

I am shocked that this school is so extremely inconsiderate ! Throughout the year, they have asked that children wear certain colors of shirts. Unthoughtful ! Wasteful ! Not all people are being supported by tax payers money. Even then, not all of them have money to waste on buying a shirt of a color their child does not have or possibly will never wear again because the color is not liked. They have been asked to wear red, green, blue, yellow, orange and purple shirts. Certainly the teachers are educated enough to know the child would be picked on that didn’t conform!This year, 2014, they have been requested to wear shirts on May 8th of their teacher’s favorite color, and on the 9th they have been asked to wear shirts the same color as their grade level.Notes of appreciation are sent from the heart, but not at this school: “ Thursday is also the day when students may bring in a handmade note or card for their teacher, so the teachers are honored twice in one day - with their favorite color and a card “ This is oppression!Ironically it is Leadership Day ! This is what a leader does?

Ms. Schemmel is an amazing 1st grade teacher.
