This school is a scam! The admission representative that I had told an abundance of lies to get me in the door. I was told my credits would transfer (which was a lie) I was told that the Nursing program was accredited (which was another lie) I was also told that I would only be on campus 1-2 days a week (another lie) I ended up being on campus 3-4 days a week in Quarter 2. I was given an estimate worksheet from FA which equaled 9 credits because your first quarter is considered 3/4 of a quarter which means that you will have 3 classes, however I ended up with 4 classes and 19 credits out of a class of 17. All of the instructors i had were very helpful with the exception of 1. This particular instructor would read from the book and expected you to teach yourself. You ask her a question her words were look it up, research it. Students pay good money to be taught not to teach themselves. 12 students out of that class 6 passed, 5 withdrew, and 1 withdrew from the school. I took my concerns to the Dean of Nursing and the regional Vice President but my concerns were swept under the rug. I am currently out of $9970.00 and no diploma. I drove 2 hours and 12 minutes one way to pursue my nursing career and got royally screwed out of an education and money!

The worst school ever! They don’t care about your personal life ( kids, or anything else) just the money that people are paying. ALL LIES credits doesn’t transfer, this school is a waste of time/money.. NOBODY CARES ENOUGH TO HELP...They don’t give you the proper training you need to to be in the medical field the teachers don’t know no more than you do.... I had to give a star ⭐️ to make a review but it doesn’t deserve that

This school isnt organize and there is only 1 teacher that genuinely cares and the librarian Ms. Payne is awesome. Some of the teachers lie to try to convince you that their looking out for your best interest in all actuality their only doing what they need to keep this Bullshit school running or the programs.

If you just plan on getting your LPN, this school is fine.... but if you plan on going any further....BEWARE!!! NO...I REPEAT... NO...NONE...NOT EVEN ONE CLASS TRANSFERS TO ANY OTHER COLLEGE.!!!! IVE GOT A STUDENT LOAN FOR $30,000+ NOW.....WITH NO DEGREE!!! I wasted 2 years of my life here...thought I was at least getting my Associates Degree and could continue at another college to get my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. They lead me to believe they are an accredited college....THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED!!!! At ALL!!!! I have to take all my classes over at a REAL college now...and start all over. And ADD ON TO MY STUDENT LOANS!!! Ill be in debt forever. Well....at least I have my LPN. Sure did waste 2 years and racked up the loan thanks to Fortis.

My experience with the school has been very positive. I read some not so good reviews but like everything, there are two sides to a story. This school and the program I am in is a smaller program so the classes are smaller, but it allows for more one on one and better instruction. The instructors in my program truly care about the students and are in close contact with us to be sure we are doing okay. Tutoring is available for students that are struggling (Ive used it a few times). The main thing is that you need to come to class and do the work or you will get behind because some classes move fast. But if you are having problems talking with the instructors will help because then they know how to help you or can point you in the right direction.Overall the school is a good choice and I dont regret choosing it.

All 52 members of staff and faculty demonstrate integrity, student-focused outcomes, commitment, service excellence, and respect. Employers visit the campus daily and 20 to 50 prospective students visit or call the campus to learn about options.

I went to check into this school for the nursing program. They overwhelm you with questions, tests and rush you into a huge financial decision. You can go to VCU or some other university for less then this trade school. This school isnt even called fortis college on your degree its a career Institute... whatever that means. I ended up being rushed into making a quick decision and regretting it. The classrooms are garbage, the teachers are always brand new to the school and dont stay. They were on the news for being a scam. Do not waste your time.

Teachers and head of department are only nice to the new students. Once you reach the end they are harsh. They do not work with you if you juggle work, school, kids and personal issues. Certain people should not be employed period.

I was enrolled in the nursing program (ADN) and later found out it was not accredited. Upon enrollment, I was told it was accredited. If you make it to graduation in the nursing program, good luck in transferring your credits to an accredited BSN program. The nursing program has a high drop out rate, high teacher turn over rate, and doesnt use best practices in preparing their students to become effective nurses. All the reasons why a board of peers will not accredited the program. BEWARE of this program, there are many nursing programs in Virginia that provide quality instruction and reputations that will guarantee academic success. If you are looking for quality instruction, caring teachers, modern equipment, and a climate that fosters academic success; then Do Not Enroll Here.

This college was by far the worst Ive dealt with in all my education, career, and life. From Kaplan U, Ashford U to UofA, and Air University....the staff at this school are unprofessional to say the very least. All 3 women my son and I dealt with from beginning to end, which included the financial aid director, were the worse of all. Words cannot express the frustration. Please do not get sucked into the pressure of signing the loan document, it is meant for potential students who have no other option and meant to cover you when FAFSA caps out. This school is out for your money rather than helping you succeed or trying to understand your financial situation and assisting you in making the best decision for your future. The drop out rate is extremely high. My son attended and had only 2 students left in class once the others had been dropped. Then another student left, which then only one student remained. Two instructors then combined a class, which only had 2 students total attending. There is a reason this is happening.Communication.....there is definately a lack of this between students, instructor and other staff members.I can go on and on with negative comments but I feel Ive said enough.Make the right choice. Most courses at this school are not accredited nor your best option.Good luck with your future endeavors.

Best Dental Assisting Program in Virginia. The Staff is very caring and shares years of experience. I am getting my associates degree. The school is CODA accredited and when you graduate, you are a CDA. I have made lifelong friends, not only in the dental assisting program, but in other programs as well.I would agree that both the massage program and surg. tech programs are great! However, the dental assisting program is the best program at the school. The dean of education knows almost every student by name and does his best to make sure that every student. Choosing Fortis was the best decision I made when selecting schools. I had no idea how important it is to be CODA accredited and this school has given me the opportunity to become a DAII. Only good things to say about this school.
